Read again, youre one of the subjects why he felt suicidal and got into depression. If youre smart enough to know or even google the word "bully", simply describes all your words.
Ako I disagree with Gab! Im sure the Philippines didnt give anything to kuya driver kaya nga nag abroad siya but he still thinks of giving back! I do not owe the Phil entertainment industry! Yabang! Buti pa mga helpers, caregivers at ibang OFWs they love the country even if the country didnt give them what they deserve.
Exactly!
Apples and oranges eh. What if papiliin siya ng auto between a SUV and a SuperCar, function o status/looks?! It will depend sa need and age eh, like if matured na siya he will go for a SUV for function pero Kung bata pa siya or kahit matured na he will go for a SuperCar, na ang common denominator e the way it make you feel pag nakasakay ka sa kanila and the attn you will get...and ang point is pag bata Pa Tayo we go for looks kaya nga mga fantards gusto mga tisoy/tisay kahit bano, while pag matured Ka na consider mo pa din yung looks pero mas gusto mo nang panoorin yung marunong naman umarte or maganda boses or Magaling sumayaw.
But some are rags to riches like Jericho Rosales ,talent of Angeli Pangilinan. Most artistas are breadwinners like John Lloyd Cruz , Marvin Agustin, Anne Curtis and Sara Geronimo.
What a revelation! So all along pala na nasa Pilipinas siya affected siya sa mga nanlalait sa physical appearance niya kasi nga hindi siya gwapo unlike other actors na ang benta yung looks nila kahit walang talent.
Na gets ko ang sinassbi niya. Dont you wonder bakit sa south korea yong iba na lead actors and actresses hindi naman kaguapuhan (song kang ho and the likes). But because may talent talaga so tinatangkilk.
At sana maintindihan nila to
if you're mentally strong, why feel worthless? No hate.
Some persevered and found fame late in life. Anne Curtis started as a child star. Bill Pullman was relatively unknown but shot to leading man status in his thirties or forties.
This is one confused artist. Egoistic rin. He is a product of what he criticizes. If not for his father, I wonder if he would have been known kahit na sabihin pa na nagka impact yung project/s nya sa US. All about fame? It's worst in Hollywood, and it is the same everywhere. That's show biz. Napa Christian ng family nya but......
Yes like hello there Kim Kardashian ! What is her talent? The reality show stars who are famous for being famous. Didnt Claire Danes or some Hollywood actress state on social media that she'll cancell her Vogue subscription and who's with her? Asians get typecast too in Hollywood. Didnt Gong Li say that there is a lack of roles for Asian women in Hollywood and worldwide movies and film?
This all boils down to self entitlement. Just because you are the son of gary v doesnt mean you rightfully deserve to be in Philippine showbiz. You may be talented, but so are the hundreds of people waiting in line just to audition for a pbb search. To succeed in showbizness, you need not just connections and talent, you also need CHARISMA which you obviously dont have. SELF ENTITLEMENT at its finest for this guy.
Oh Gab. Why not stay here in your homeland and make a difference. Educate us , your fellowmen. Hollywood may or may not value you . It remains to be seen . Godspeed.
So true. Oh well. Brace yourself.
People here just don't like you. What's not to understand about that? Nagkaroon ka ng feeling of entitlement na tanggapin ka wholeheartedly as an artist just because your dad is considered a success story here.
sus, nakinabang k rin being a valenciano...Besides, alam mo nmn n icon yun dad mo s pagsasayaw tpos sumunod k p s yapak nya.... Dapat ng-iba k ng line of work like luis. successful s hosting pero hindi sa acting ng drama. Wala k lng talagang charisma! bakit nmn si melai tinanggap ng madlang people-- twice pa!
Gab youre articulate , talented and blessed with a great family. Too whom much is given , much is expected. But then again don't be too hard on yourself. Easy for me to say since I'm not an artist who feels too much. I just hope like that Uber driver said...give back to your country...so many fellowmen attacking their homecountry. Make a difference pls
why so bitter? you're very lucky nga na may mga dance numbers ka at the very least. yung iba nga nagsimula pa audition audition for backup dancers and such hanggang sumikat sila. di mo nga kinailangan pumila pila sa mga ganun for sure.
I am not his fan or a follower of his works, but after reading his sentiments, I surely know that the artist in him was speaking. Not that he is the son of Gary, but he made his way to the top to show that he has own talent that can prove na hindi lang dahil anak sya ni Gary.
He made several points that celebrities or artista should read and reflect on. I am sure senior artists or veterans can easily relate to his reflections.
Did you not read NEGATRONS? If you have bad things to say take it somewhere else. Palibhasa siguro you have the same mentality that he's been stressing out.
Of course he'd be bitter. I'm in the same boat. I graduated from the top university in the country and pursued several graduate degrees. And when I was ready to work I was told I'm too old!! Wtf! Thank god my family moved abroad. Now I have a fulfilling career and those people who didnt want to employ me (which btw knew my parents from school social circles etc) are now asking if I can bring some of my projects to them to gain profit. Not that I don't care but I'd give back to the place who took care of me when I had nothing.
Stars are born😏 it's either you have it or not. If luck , fate smiles at you that's even better. There are a lot of talented people in this world. Just accept the fact that being in front of the camera is not for you and not meant for you and move on. It's great that you found your niche.
Gab has lots of talents, I agree! . Sad to say, but as proven, ABS promotes those with no looks, but popular due to partnering with a love team.. Love teams na nauuwi unwanted pregnancies, abortion or scandals. Then, damage control and ginagawa ng ABS.
Your father, your best friend, Jericho Rosales are two examples of people who aren't 'fair-skinned' that made it big in showbiz. So don't give us that crap. You may be talented, but talent is not all there is. Admit it, you were just expecting the same anak-ng-artista treatment, you didn't get one. Now you're bitter, it's ridiculously pathetic.
Thank you, Gab. I feel it too. Teachers are underpaid and overworked here in the Philippines. It pains me each time I hear great & dedicated teachers I have worked with have already sought greener pastures elsewhere. For them, they want to continue teaching but in a country where educators are highly respected. Your post had me rethinking that maybe they made the right decision to leave before it was too late.
Prayers for you. How insensitive.
Sorry but it's true
Grabe naman ang h8nanakit mo. Yiu should be even thankful sa public kasi wala ka naman ibang talent except dancing.
Abs-cbn tried to somehow highlight him on ASAP business is business at kung hindi mabenta ang produkto xempre hahanap sila kung saan sila kikita.
And yes Gab can dance, he's good actually pero pag nasayaw sya hindi naman sya yung tipong mapapaindak ka
Kaya nakakalungkot.
Kahit saang bansa ganon din . Mas maganda kasi tingnan sa tv or printad siempre Mas mabenta. Sink b naman gusto manood kapag pangit or bilhin d product page beauty product eh pangit endorser? Aber? Kahit saan bansa ganyan din
Dun sa mga tao dyan na puro nega lang ung sasabihin about his statement, siguro kayo ung mga taong puro looks lang ang hinahanap. Baka di nyo alam what it takes to be an artist.
Set aside the bitterness Always be greatfull to the place that yoy came from Stop ranting and complaining about how they made you feel You are an entertainer and you should know that your main concern is on how you make other people feel not like the other way around The viewers or the filipinos didn't owe you In this line of work its the other way around
On a lighter note, when Gab mentioned Ellen sa post nya akala ko si Ellen Adarna.
A beautiful read. Thanks Gab. This isn't just for artists, or those chasing the elusive fame. Sometimes, to be truly happy, you may have to go against the norm, and deviate from what is expected of you. I can relate! :) Just be brave enough to do it, to bridge that yawning gap. Do not stop believing that you can, and keeping on, not losing hope that you'll reach that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Hello Melai, even yayadub Boy abunda etc
Ayaw ko na mag enumerate ng kinulang sa look hays You just didnt get it Its the mass appeal and dont you dare criticize filipino's taste for this are the same filipino's who adored and supported your father Ungrateful much hmp
Such angst, coming from someone whose father (and mother, for that matter) enjoyed the benefits from the industry he holds wih so much disdain now. And there's that mentality of comparing systems in our country to that of the states. Iba ang kulturang pinoy sa kano iho. Wag masyadong mapanghusga.
You can't force people to 'grow' the way you want.
But that doesn't mean the local entertainment is doomed because people like you are not on it.
Wow! Very well said and brave. I admire the honesty and totally straight to the point. I would've never realized the shallowness that's going on in our country if I didn't move here in another country. It's not just about fame, even materialism. What matters where I am now are far more important things than tangible things and attention from other people who doesn't really matter ( social media)
I understand people who will comment on his post negatives are people who never left the country or close minded people.
It's not only in the Philippines sweetie. The entertainment industry. People with pleasant faces are marketable. Even in job interviews sweetie, the personal appearance counts. He just needs to accept what God has given him and make the most out of it. For a fact , he had a head start as his family is in show business , he had access. So Please ranting.
I saw Gab few years back in Glorietta. Nothing special. NO wow factor unlike the other celebrities I have met and seen in person.
What he shared is true. However, it does not elevate his status as an artist nor give him the WOW factor that the industry is looking for. At the end of the day he is like an ordinary guy that keeps on complaining why such system work and exist to his disadvantage.
I can't comprehend what will he get out of this ranting and venting out of frustrations. If you don't like the system regardless of the industry including the Government, then just LEAVE, get out of it, shut up and move on.
NEVER blame anyone for your misfortunes, real adults takes full responsibilities for their actions even if it they are not at fault.
So if somebody steals from you or kills someone in your family, you cannot blame them for your misfortune if you are a real adult and just take full responsibility? I think there's a flaw in your logic.
If that is your opinion I respect that. Your example is the extreme. However real adults know how to forgive. Is it easy? Hell NO. That is why it takes time a lot of time for someone to really reach that maturity, that adulthood.
im happy for gab na he is soaring high in US pero sana nong pumasok sya sa Phil showbiz, sana naisip nya muna kung ano ang market dito. bitter lng sya sa mga artista na sikat dito. he will never make it big dito sa Pinas kung pagsasayaw lang kaya nya. he will never make it like his dad na complete package. Gary V. can sing, dance, and act. sayaw lang kasi kaya nya.
Me mga tao talagang sadyang pinagpapala at sumisikat agad. May iba naman na sadyang matyaga at hindi tumitigil until they get to the top. Hindi naman xa agad agad sumikat madami xang pinagdaanan and i guess most of us know his story and finally nakuha sa tyaga. Mahirap kase minsan pag feeling mo sobrang galing mo at ikaw na ang pinakamagaling mahirap talagang tumanggap ng rejection while in fact hindi naman talaga Kailangan. Gab your time will come if it's really meant for you for now all you can do is move forward and shut up!
Lets Face d reality. Even s US they all look for a pretty n cute face with talent as it's more marketable. Even Simon cowell said this. The ones who are huge n successful Singers are Katy Perry Taylor swift. Etc. They all have pretty faces. Would they also hit that international stardom by being ugly with talent of course not. Maroon 5 front man is sexy, cute n his songs are great, he wouldn't have achieved superstardom if he's fat n uglyn I'm sure even Gab would agree with me. People tend to admire those people who not only look good but have incredible talent. OF COURSE THERE ARE SOME Famous ones here who are not handsome or pretty. Vhong Navarro Aiai Babalu but they also achieved stardom in their own way. Bitter k Lang Gab coz if not for your dad you wouldn't be part of ASAP din. U said it's who you know how u get big in Manila one reason eh u must include urself in this clause too Gab. It is really hard to accept those comments n bashers telling u ur not even cute or ur ugly. Byt it's d truth. U got depressed and cant handle those things being thrown at you constantly. Don't even claim u didn't want to get famous Puhleease! U know in your heart you want fame if not why perform n join ASAP for years n try to make no it work, but after years of not going anywhere u finally realize whenever u look in the mirror u can't do this relying on ur looks as u don't have any. U h a v e to get out n do something else. Its reality. Don't be bitter for being ugly accept it. At least u grew up comfortably went to d best school and ur dads famous.
I beg to disagree sa mga pinagsasabi nya. Malamang sa una sisikat nga but in the long run malalaos din sila kasi wala talent.
I hope that quality education would be given to the masses so that people would not settle with crappy movies, tv shows, celebs and politicians. I also hope that the artists esp. the young ones would enroll in perfoming arts schools to be able to learn more about their craft.
There are so many ignorant people here who cannot even get the gist why gab felt that way. People nowadays are so judgemental and sadly do not use their minds to process to understand things.
I thought he was able to reflect on life, showbiz, success, etc so how come up to now he appears to be bitter? I don't get it. The Phil. showbiz industry does not revolve around you Gab so don't expect the people and the system to be appreciative of your 'talent'. What you went through is nothing compared to the number of artists who have to beg and forced to accept abuses just so to be given a chance. You dwell too much on the issue of why you were not able to make it here and you seem to have the answer yet you cannot accept that our system is such. The reality is u simply don't have the X factor to make it big here in the Phils. so deal with it move on and move out which you have done already so just be happy where u are.
I don't entirely agree sa sinabi nya. Dapat kasi complete or almost complete package ka. Hindi masamang maging maganda pero dapat my talent ka rin to standout (Bea, Piolo, Anne, Angel, Marian, Dingdong, etc.) At hindi lahat ng mestiza/o o sobrang gwapo ay sikat (too many to mention here). Alam natin mga life stories nung iba, hindi naman sila lumaking mayaman or may backer sa showbiz yet they were able to achieve their dreams in the Philippines. Pero tama sya, if you're not appreciated somewhere, don't just complain, move elsewhere na magiging happy ka.
I agree. He has a sense of Entitlement Issue, blaming the "Artista System" because he didn't become popular. Please. People worked hard to get to where they are. Many of these artists were never even thought of as big stars... they just happened to land "big breaks" which made their star shine brightly. A good example is Vice Ganda. No one would have given him the time of day if it wasn't for Showtime showcasing whatever humor he has etc.
if you wanted to focus on film making you should have done that here. not singing or dancing kasi mediocre lang talent mo. and yung youtube video mo na ikinasikat mo it doesnt show na mahusay kang singer or dancer.
in short sumikat ka sa ibang bansa kasi youre entertaining, not that you are a great or exceptional singer or dancer.
May ipinaglalaban?
Ayaw mga mga pinoy sa mga mayayabang period ! as easy as that, cant you just simply get that ? Its not the issue of having a talent or what ... Not bec your dad is famous you should be the same too... just leave and stay in the states for good if u think they appreciate you more there. Lol !
Of course, the fantards or the low lives will NOT understand Him. More fans equals fame. Nothing more, nothing less. Kahit may audio scandal ka pa or nagwala sa eroplano, the fan(s) will still support you as it is. Mali ka man or tama. Sintunado ka man kumanta or hindi.
happiest? I don't think so...because if you are you wouldn't have these much time to write a novel rant. If you are...you would be too busy being at your happiest.
Oh please! Do not blame the system for your failure. The system's there, and if you have enough talent and perseverance it will give you the success you deserve. In the meantime, don't think the system owes you anything. You are what you are. Do not blame other people and other things for your inability to succeed.
Oh well, blame the Philippine audience and their response.
Bakit puro walang kwentang reality shows ang nasa mtv? Gab has a point pero hindi nya din pwede ikaila na nagkabreak sya sa pinas dahil tatay nya si gary v.
Cry baby. Ang dami nya sinabi pero bottomline is this guy is so immature. He thinks he has the talent and the charisma to be noticed and blames the industry that he isn't. A lot of 'artistas' started from nothing and worked their way up. This Gab Valenciano had the advantage of having his parents groom him and buiold him up for a career yet he still fails. For this person to write what he wrote is a slap in the face of successful Filipino artists here in the Philippines. Isipin mo mabuti, Gab Valenciano. FP kindly publish this. Thanks.
In general Pilipino kahit Nasa ibang bansa, it would full u down..makipag kaibigan kana sa ibang lahi...mahilig sa gossip at maka character assassination pa at whining..ito yata ang trade mark nang pinoy...aminin na....
Good morning FP as much as I would like to read all the comments but it's already 2AM but let me just post something before I go to sleep. Well for sure bashers/haters will still not understand his point no matter (will they even read it anyway) but seriously he has a point. Our system and not only the Showbiz is messed up big time that it will take a hundred years to change it.
About showbiz if you will watch series/movies from (some) European countries you'll see a huge difference from the Hollywood and Philippine showbiz. I have seen a lot of great actors who are not exactly 'beautiful' by the standards of local showbiz but heck it does not seem to matter as long as they can deliver.
In summary ganito lang yan, gusto nya lang iparating sa Phil showbiz that you pushed him to a box and did not provide encouragement and venue for his other skills. Now that it seems he will make it big internationally, when the time comes, don't go taking the credit. Don't go and fluff his ego with praises and claims of being proud of his achievements when during the time he was nobody, you did not care about him.
Negatrons, Phil will never prosper if it has people living there like you. Gab is pointing out the bulok system and mentality. Yet there you are defending it to the core. Go sige survival of the fittest na lang kayo. One day, you'll be colonized by China without you knowing.
Admit it. Ur just bitter xoz FAme didnt come to u. Dimo naachieve un katulad ng dada mo that's why. Of not ur parents.
Another typical story of a son not being able to surpass the success of his parent.
But then masyadong mataas expectation mo sa industry for not recognizing ur talent or whatever.
Honestly... it's not the "Artista System" that caused him to not be popular in the Philippines. If you look at it... He became depress... Why? Because he has a sense of ENTITLEMENT. He thinks he is entitled to fame because he thinks he is gifted, has abundant talent, because his dad is a famous celebrity and that naturally he should be too. Additionally... who wouldn't get depress... he's stepping under his dad's shadow. People have an expectation that he should naturally be as good as his dad and when he fails to deliver; people are more harsh towards him and he is likely even more harsh towards himself.
The difference with him and people who have no celebrity affiliation... is that they have no Expectations, no sense of Entitlement... if they kept getting pushed around and their star won't shine... they just keep moving forward... until they are noticed. A good example... Coco Martin. Do you know how many times his been pushed around. No one saw him as a big star. But... look at him now.
That's just life... Mr. Gab. Not everything will come to you as easily as you think just because you think you have the talent. It just doesn't. You have to work on it. You have to find a place where your star will shine brightly. Timing, Persistence, and Flexibility are also very important.
Do you really believe that you have X-factor to make it here as an artist or celebrity??? GOOD LOOKS really counts. alangan namang pagkaguluhan ka namin eh... sorry to say this, pero ang pangit mo po. isa pa si goma ba white skinned? NO, BUT HANDSOME. Kakakilig.
Wow, do you really feel that you are that talented and that the only reason you did not become famousnis bec u don't look the part?!?!? Grow up! Just bec people admire ur dad and he is famous doesn't mean dapat ikaw din. Tama lang ginawa mo, move out and move on.
pinoy showbiz loves light skinned, good looking peeps. totoo yan! pero meron ding mga darker skinned, not so good looking na sumikat. gabs got more than his fair share of breaks due to his relatives. he was able to show his "talent" many times because of his name. kaso di siya na appreciate, so he is blaming showbiz, dear me, what a cop out.
after all the times he has performed, if the public clamored for him, kahit kasing itim pa siya ng dilim at kamukha ng tiyanak, e, he would've succeeded.
so really, gab who's best known for being the son of gary: blame the PINOY PUBLIC which did not want you and what you have to offer. but it's far easier and more politically correct to blame the "shallow" showbiz community, di ba?
So why did he enter showbiz if he never liked being called a celebrity or an artista? He shouldn't blame the country and it's standards for his failures. What he said, he should apply to himself. Don't think, Do. I think you were just being immature and thought the world was at your feet when you were in the Philippines that's why you acted the way you did. It had nothing to do with how the public accepted you or not. Hollywood is no different. If talent really outshines looks then Kim Kardashian and her clan would not be as famous as they are now. You were given an opportunity in Hollywood just like how you were given an opportunity in the Philippines. Hindi mo lang ginamit ng mabuti because you got complacent.
Ano ba yan teacher FP, andaming mahihina sa reading comprehension sa classmates ko!Naintindihan ba nila sinulat ni Gab?He is not only speaking for himself, pero para sa lahat ng may pangarap mabago buhay nila. This is so inspiring and realistic!
Ansakit naman ng I dont owe it a thing.. Some even go further na nagpapayos ng mukha just to have an over-all package and to have an xfactor.
Benefactor system dito, bro. Hindi celebrity system. Magsama kayo ni KC, Julia B. Si KC being a child of showbiz parents daw ay curse. Wala kayong K magreklamo at magdiva.divahan.
Kawalan ka ba? Oo maganda sinabi mo kaso di lahat maiintindihan yan.
ReplyDeleteRead again, youre one of the subjects why he felt suicidal and got into depression. If youre smart enough to know or even google the word "bully", simply describes all your words.
DeleteAko I disagree with Gab!
DeleteAyaw mo ng Fame? In the first place bakit ka ngsulat ng blog na to? Kasi bitter ka at hindi ka famous! Sisihin daw ba showbiz at Pinas
And now nka abroad ka lng akala mo npakataas mo na
DeleteAndaming kuda!
DeleteExactly!
TPOs!
Totoo man ang sinabi nya, mas totoo rin na nag benefit sya from being Gary's son miski mas magaling yung iba sa kanya.
DeleteMe word din kasing "magic", "charisma", that makes you BANKABLE! Bale ang magic word is BANKABLE! KACHING! KACHING! For the producers/owners...
DeleteOur rotten showbiz industry. Sucks
ReplyDeleteBomalabs naman yung comparison ni Gab eh abt artist and celebrity, coz ang common denominator pa din REALISTICALLY THE WAY THE WORLD WORKS eh ang pipiliin ung maganda sa paningin at panlasa!
DeleteApples and oranges eh.
Ang bigat lang sa dibdib mabasa to. Ramdam ko feels ni gab :(
ReplyDeletePhilippine showbiz industry is filled with shallow and egotistic talentless people who call themselves artists because they are infront of the lens.
DeleteThe country itself has succumbed to getting social approval before they see their self-worth.
I like how he described everything that is going wrong. Hope his post would smack some people awake from the hysteria that fame brings to them.
only people like you can understand this. All positive comments about his emotional rant.. very touching and very real..
DeleteSad lang most of the people dont understand. Mostly the fantards.
Deletemakasalita to. if hindi lng sya anak ni gary he'll never have a chance to be on tv anyways.
DeleteApir tayo diyan. Pak na pak!
DeleteNagbasa ka ba talaga teh? 12:15
DeleteBut some are rags to riches like Jericho Rosales ,talent of Angeli Pangilinan. Most artistas are breadwinners like John Lloyd Cruz , Marvin Agustin, Anne Curtis and Sara Geronimo.
DeleteWhat a revelation! So all along pala na nasa Pilipinas siya affected siya sa mga nanlalait sa physical appearance niya kasi nga hindi siya gwapo unlike other actors na ang benta yung looks nila kahit walang talent.
DeleteNa gets ko ang sinassbi niya. Dont you wonder bakit sa south korea yong iba na lead actors and actresses hindi naman kaguapuhan (song kang ho and the likes). But because may talent talaga so tinatangkilk. Aminin na natin, shallow tayong mga pinoy.
DeleteHe is supposed to be intelligent he should have known na looks ang basic ingredient sa pagiging celebrity!!! Kahit grade six alam yan.
DeleteHe has a point tho. Sad how Filipino artists have to be recognized abroad so our kababayans can appreciate the talents.
ReplyDeleteInferiority complex
Deletei agree!!!
Deleteyes he has a point..indeed
DeleteEh BAket si Nora Aunor how would you guys explain her case?
At sana maintindihan nila to
ReplyDeleteYou should thank the "artista" system because if not because of your dad, isa ka lang unknown.
ReplyDeleteTamaa
Deletemay tuldok
ReplyDeleteBinasa ko yung first at half ng 2nd page nang maisipan ko magscroll down. Huwaw sobrang haba pala. Tumigil na ako. Sorry not sorry
ReplyDeleteTrue.
ReplyDeleteif you're mentally strong, why feel worthless? No hate.
ReplyDeleteTeh nabasa mo ba ng buo at naintindihan? Hahaha.
DeleteSome persevered and found fame late in life. Anne Curtis started as a child star. Bill Pullman was relatively unknown but shot to leading man status in his thirties or forties.
DeleteAng haba naman. Ok so you're an artist and not a celebrity. Period
ReplyDeleteThis is one confused artist.
ReplyDeleteSana mabasa Niya post mo and maliwanagan siya sa sobrang pagkaSELF-ABSORB NIYA!
DeleteYes like hello there Kim Kardashian ! What is her talent? The reality show stars who are famous for being famous. Didnt Claire Danes or some Hollywood actress state on social media that she'll cancell her Vogue subscription and who's with her?
DeleteAsians get typecast too in Hollywood. Didnt Gong Li say that there is a lack of roles for Asian women in Hollywood and worldwide movies and film?
kahit walang talent..sikat...kahit di marunong kumanta, may album...
ReplyDeleteThis all boils down to self entitlement. Just because you are the son of gary v doesnt mean you rightfully deserve to be in Philippine showbiz. You may be talented,
ReplyDeletebut so are the hundreds of people waiting in line just to audition for a pbb search. To succeed in showbizness, you need not just connections and talent, you also need CHARISMA which you obviously dont have. SELF ENTITLEMENT at its finest for this guy.
And don't forget: ATTITUDE
DeleteTumpak!!!!
DeleteOh Gab. Why not stay here in your homeland and make a difference. Educate us , your fellowmen. Hollywood may or may not value you . It remains to be seen . Godspeed.
OA to the maxxxxx ka pa.
Oh well.
ReplyDeleteHahaha...... at english pa grrrrr
DeletePeople here just don't like you. What's not to understand about that? Nagkaroon ka ng feeling of entitlement na tanggapin ka wholeheartedly as an artist just because your dad is considered a success story here.
ReplyDeleteBangketa
the statement is too long!!! i have no patience to read the whole thing.
ReplyDeletesus, nakinabang k rin being a valenciano...Besides, alam mo nmn n icon yun dad mo s pagsasayaw tpos sumunod k p s yapak nya.... Dapat ng-iba k ng line of work like luis. successful s hosting pero hindi sa acting ng drama. Wala k lng talagang charisma! bakit nmn si melai tinanggap ng madlang people-- twice pa!
ReplyDeleteGab youre articulate , talented and blessed with a great family. Too whom much is given , much is expected. But then again don't be too hard on yourself. Easy for me to say since I'm not an artist who feels too much. I just hope like that Uber driver said...give back to your country...so many fellowmen attacking their homecountry. Make a difference pls
ReplyDeletewhy so bitter? you're very lucky nga na may mga dance numbers ka at the very least. yung iba nga nagsimula pa audition audition for backup dancers and such hanggang sumikat sila. di mo nga kinailangan pumila pila sa mga ganun for sure.
ReplyDeletePag nagsulat ba ng opinion at emotions bitter na agad? open your mind and try to understand other people.
ReplyDeleteActually maganda basahin ung article nia, nakaka libang and makatotohanan.
ReplyDeleteI am not his fan or a follower of his works, but after reading his sentiments, I surely know that the artist in him was speaking. Not that he is the son of Gary, but he made his way to the top to show that he has own talent that can prove na hindi lang dahil anak sya ni Gary.
ReplyDeleteHe made several points that celebrities or artista should read and reflect on. I am sure senior artists or veterans can easily relate to his reflections.
And so the shallowness of haters continue to show with comments like anon 12:15 and 12:16.
ReplyDeleteWala ka kasing dating at charisma.
ReplyDeleteKailangan yun para mahatak mo ang masa.
Did you not read NEGATRONS? If you have bad things to say take it somewhere else. Palibhasa siguro you have the same mentality that he's been stressing out.
ReplyDeleteOf course he'd be bitter.
It's the circle of life.
Gab its just a matter of acceptance. Just accept the fact that pinoys don't feel you like your father. Afterall, you're not the only one.
ReplyDeleteStars are born😏 it's either you have it or not. If luck , fate smiles at you that's even better. There are a lot of talented people in this world. Just accept the fact that being in front of the camera is not for you and not meant for you and move on. It's great that you found your niche.
ReplyDeleteGab has lots of talents, I agree! . Sad to say, but as proven, ABS promotes those with no looks, but popular due to partnering with a love team.. Love teams na nauuwi unwanted pregnancies, abortion or scandals. Then, damage control and ginagawa ng ABS.
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered about the plain jane and drop dead gorgeous guy formula that seems to be attaining massive success
ReplyDeleteangst galore
ReplyDeleteYour father, your best friend, Jericho Rosales are two examples of people who aren't 'fair-skinned' that made it big in showbiz. So don't give us that crap. You may be talented, but talent is not all there is. Admit it, you were just expecting the same anak-ng-artista treatment, you didn't get one. Now you're bitter, it's ridiculously pathetic.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gab.
ReplyDeleteSo much feels! very true indeed.
Prayers for you. How insensitive.
DeleteKaya nga di mo naintindihan 'teh kasi di mo binasa. HAHAHA. babaw mo/
DeleteBitter. As if nman nakuha mo na ung recognition na gusto mo makuha sa ibang bansa! Duh?!?
Sorry but it's true
ReplyDeleteGrabe naman ang h8nanakit mo. Yiu should be even thankful sa public kasi wala ka naman ibang talent except dancing.
Abs-cbn tried to somehow highlight him on ASAP business is business at kung hindi mabenta ang produkto xempre hahanap sila kung saan sila kikita.
And yes Gab can dance, he's good actually pero pag nasayaw sya hindi naman sya yung tipong mapapaindak ka
DeleteI feel Gab's words. He is so right!
ReplyDeletePramis, KAY TAGAL MO MANG MAWALA, BABALIK KA RIN!
Kaya nakakalungkot.
ReplyDeleteKahit saang bansa ganon din . Mas maganda kasi tingnan sa tv or printad siempre Mas mabenta. Sink b naman gusto manood kapag pangit or bilhin d product page beauty product eh pangit endorser? Aber? Kahit saan bansa ganyan din
DeleteKukuha k ba endorser ng beauty cream tapos pangit puro pimples any endorser ? Sino buy ng cream mo? Sige nga . Wag bitter.
DeleteDun sa mga tao dyan na puro nega lang ung sasabihin about his statement, siguro kayo ung mga taong puro looks lang ang hinahanap. Baka di nyo alam what it takes to be an artist. Di nyo alam ung celebrity vs. artist.
ReplyDeleteTo ABS CBN, with love LOL
ReplyDeleteang bitter! as if naman sisikat siya sa hollywood
ReplyDeleteIkaw = erpats before talent
ReplyDeleteang iba = looks before being honed
kaya be thankful sa mga pinoy.
He's right.
ReplyDeleteSet aside the bitterness
ReplyDeleteAlways be greatfull to the place that yoy came from
Stop ranting and complaining about how they made you feel
You are an entertainer and you should know that your main concern is on how you make other people feel not like the other way around
The viewers or the filipinos didn't owe you
In this line of work its the other way around
*grateful teh, not greatfull
You are ant entertainer you should be more concern on wht u make other people feel
ReplyDeleteFilipinos didnt owe you
He has a point.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan pero tama naman sya.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful read.
ReplyDeleteHello
Melai, even yayadub
Boy abunda etc
You just didnt get it
Its the mass appeal and dont you dare criticize filipino's taste for this are the same filipino's who adored and supported your father
Ungrateful much hmp
Such angst, coming from someone whose father (and mother, for that matter) enjoyed the benefits from the industry he holds wih so much disdain now. And there's that mentality of comparing systems in our country to that of the states. Iba ang kulturang pinoy sa kano iho. Wag masyadong mapanghusga.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that's the entertainment industry everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI understand people who will comment on his post negatives are people who never left the country or close minded people.
Deletenaka 1/2 step pa lang, ang taas na.
ReplyDeleteI saw Gab few years back in Glorietta. Nothing special. NO wow factor unlike the other celebrities I have met and seen in person.
ReplyDeleteWhat he shared is true.
DeleteTHANK YOU for your detailed comment! @ 1:35pm
DeleteYou NAILED IT!
Anon 2:14 you know better than that.
DeleteWhile your logic, on the other hand, displays false analogy.
DeleteIf that is your opinion I respect that. Your example is the extreme. However real adults know how to forgive. Is it easy? Hell NO. That is why it takes time a lot of time for someone to really reach that maturity, that adulthood.
DeleteI feel you. Sad but true. Real talk indeed! I'm glad that you're happy with what you have achieved so far. Keep it up! GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!!!
ReplyDeleteim happy for gab na he is soaring high in US pero sana nong pumasok sya sa Phil showbiz, sana naisip nya muna kung ano ang market dito. bitter lng sya sa mga artista na sikat dito. he will never make it big dito sa Pinas kung pagsasayaw lang kaya nya. he will never make it like his dad na complete package. Gary V. can sing, dance, and act. sayaw lang kasi kaya nya.
ReplyDelete-xoxo-
ReplyDeletepangit ka kasi at mayabang ka pa.di ka talaga sisikat dito or kahit sa us of a.wala kang looks and appeal
ReplyDelete*hindi naman talaga kagalingan.
DeleteLets Face d reality.
ReplyDeleteI hope that quality education would be given to the masses so that people would not settle with crappy movies, tv shows, celebs and politicians. I also hope that the artists esp. the young ones would enroll in perfoming arts schools to be able to learn more about their craft.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many ignorant people here who cannot even get the gist why gab felt that way. People nowadays are so judgemental and sadly do not use their minds to process to understand things.
ReplyDeleteGab...tutoy..tulog na.
DeleteHello po Mr Pure Energy. Tulog nah. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteCorrect.
DeleteI thought he was able to reflect on life, showbiz, success, etc so how come up to now he appears to be bitter? I don't get it. The Phil. showbiz industry does not revolve around you Gab so don't expect the people and the system to be appreciative of your 'talent'. What you went through is nothing compared to the number of artists who have to beg and forced to accept abuses just so to be given a chance. You dwell too much on the issue of why you were not able to make it here and you seem to have the answer yet you cannot accept that our system is such. The reality is u simply don't have the X factor to make it big here in the Phils. so deal with it move on and move out which you have done already so just be happy where u are.
ReplyDeleteCoco, JLC, Sarah, Gary, Yeng, Daniel, Kathryn, Nadine, Maja, Vice Ganda, atbp. Dapat kasi complete or almost complete package ka.
Hindi masamang maging maganda pero dapat my talent ka rin to standout (Bea, Piolo, Anne, Angel, Marian, Dingdong, etc.)
At hindi lahat ng mestiza/o o sobrang gwapo ay sikat (too many to mention here).
Deleteyou got the word!
ReplyDeleteif you wanted to focus on film making you should have done that here. not singing or dancing kasi mediocre lang talent mo. and yung youtube video mo na ikinasikat mo it doesnt show na mahusay kang singer or dancer.
in short sumikat ka sa ibang bansa kasi youre entertaining, not that you are a great or exceptional singer or dancer.
Ano point nya?
ReplyDeleteMay point naman xa. May ipinaglalaban?
ReplyDeleteAyaw mga mga pinoy sa mga mayayabang period ! as easy as that, cant you just simply get that ? Its not the issue of having a talent or what ... Not bec your dad is famous you should be the same too... just leave and stay in the states for good if u think they appreciate you more there. Lol !
ReplyDeleteOne of the most annoying people in the world ! #gabvalenciano
ReplyDeleteOf course, the fantards or the low lives will NOT understand Him. More fans equals fame. Nothing more, nothing less. Kahit may audio scandal ka pa or nagwala sa eroplano, the fan(s) will still support you as it is. Mali ka man or tama. Sintunado ka man kumanta or hindi.
ReplyDeleteHaba nag eksplanasyon, me nagtatanong ba???? Di ko na babasahin ang nobelang toh! NEXT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou just did not have the IT Factor Mr.
ReplyDeletehappiest? I don't think so...because if you are you wouldn't have these much time to write a novel rant. If you are...you would be too busy being at your happiest.
ReplyDeleteOh please! Do not blame the system for your failure. The system's there, and if you have enough talent and perseverance it will give you the success you deserve. In the meantime, don't think the system owes you anything. You are what you are. Do not blame other people and other things for your inability to succeed.
Tito Boy Abunda dislikes this! Hahahaha
ReplyDeletein short, umasta ayon sa galing!
ReplyDeleteOh well, blame the Philippine audience and their response.
Bakit puro walang kwentang reality shows ang nasa mtv? Gab has a point pero hindi nya din pwede ikaila na nagkabreak sya sa pinas dahil tatay nya si gary v.
ReplyDeleteCry baby. Thanks.
ReplyDeletesa dami rami ng sinabi nya, wala akong naintindihan. lol bitter lang siguro kasi di xa napapansin.
ReplyDeletesimple lang, If you can't take the heat, then get out of the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteHaba ng post. Daming comments. Lost na ako. Crispin? Basilio? - Sisa
ReplyDeleteHaba ng post. Daming comments. Waley, nalost ako. Crispin, Basilio... - Sisa
ReplyDeleteIn general Pilipino kahit Nasa ibang bansa, it would full u down..makipag kaibigan kana sa ibang lahi...mahilig sa gossip at maka character assassination pa at whining..ito yata ang trade mark nang pinoy...aminin na....
ReplyDeleteSad but true!
ReplyDeleteGood morning FP as much as I would like to read all the comments but it's already 2AM but let me just post something before I go to sleep. Well for sure bashers/haters will still not understand his point no matter (will they even read it anyway) but seriously he has a point. Our system and not only the Showbiz is messed up big time that it will take a hundred years to change it.
ReplyDeleteAbout showbiz if you will watch series/movies from (some) European countries you'll see a huge difference from the Hollywood and Philippine showbiz. I have seen a lot of great actors who are not exactly 'beautiful' by the standards of local showbiz but heck it does not seem to matter as long as they can deliver.
I get his point.
ReplyDeleteIn summary ganito lang yan, gusto nya lang iparating sa Phil showbiz that you pushed him to a box and did not provide encouragement and venue for his other skills. Now that it seems he will make it big internationally, when the time comes, don't go taking the credit. Don't go and fluff his ego with praises and claims of being proud of his achievements when during the time he was nobody, you did not care about him.
In other words, walang pakialamanan.
Negatrons, Phil will never prosper if it has people living there like you.
ReplyDeleteGab is pointing out the bulok system and mentality. Yet there you are defending it to the core. Go sige survival of the fittest na lang kayo.
One day, you'll be colonized by China without you knowing.
ReplyDeleteAdmit it. Ur just bitter xoz FAme didnt come to u. Dimo naachieve un katulad ng dada mo that's why. Of not ur parents.
ReplyDeleteAnother typical story of a son not being able to surpass the success of his parent.
But then masyadong mataas expectation mo sa industry for not recognizing ur talent or whatever.
ReplyDeleteYou went from being ur dad's copycat but it didnt work, tapos now blame the industry na bumuhay sa inyo ng family mo? Ingrato
ReplyDeleteU wrote this blog simply bcoz after lahat na achieve mo sa pag go global mo e wla ka pa ding nakuhang recognition. Bitter
ReplyDeleteHonestly... it's not the "Artista System" that caused him to not be popular in the Philippines.
ReplyDeleteThe difference with him and people who have no celebrity affiliation... is that they have no Expectations, no sense of Entitlement... if they kept getting pushed around and their star won't shine... they just keep moving forward... until they are noticed.
Kakakilig.
ReplyDeleteWow, do you really feel that you are that talented and that the only reason you did not become famousnis bec u don't look the part?!?!? Grow up! Just bec people admire ur dad and he is famous doesn't mean dapat ikaw din. Tama lang ginawa mo, move out and move on.
ReplyDeletepinoy showbiz loves light skinned, good looking peeps. totoo yan! pero meron ding mga darker skinned, not so good looking na sumikat. gabs got more than his fair share of breaks due to his relatives. he was able to show his "talent" many times because of his name. kaso di siya na appreciate, so he is blaming showbiz, dear me, what a cop out.
ReplyDeleteafter all the times he has performed, if the public clamored for him, kahit kasing itim pa siya ng dilim at kamukha ng tiyanak, e, he would've succeeded.
so really, gab who's best known for being the son of gary: blame the PINOY PUBLIC which did not want you and what you have to offer. but it's far easier and more politically correct to blame the "shallow" showbiz community, di ba?
ReplyDeleteAno ba yan teacher FP, andaming mahihina sa reading comprehension sa classmates ko!Naintindihan ba nila sinulat ni Gab?He is not only speaking for himself, pero para sa lahat ng may pangarap mabago buhay nila. This is so inspiring and realistic!
ReplyDeleteAnsakit naman ng I dont owe it a thing.. Some even go further na nagpapayos ng mukha just to have an over-all package and to have an xfactor.
ReplyDeleteBenefactor system dito, bro. Hindi celebrity system. Magsama kayo ni KC, Julia B. Si KC being a child of showbiz parents daw ay curse. Wala kayong K magreklamo at magdiva.divahan.
