Clandestine Meeting Led to Desirable Outcome

When Controversial Actor (CA) left his network, he was called a range of names pertaining to his lack of gratitude for the effort the network invested to make him famous. Contrary to common assumption, the network was taking care of CA and his leaving was met with several questions. Nonetheless, CA was accused of valuing money over loyalty. As CA tried to move on with his career, his luster seemed to die down, and suddenly, he was no longer as hot as during the time when he was still with his original home. Although his presence left a void, the network easily built-up other talents and CA was no longer missed.

However, CA unexpectedly bounced back in a movie that was initially harshly criticized for the seeming lack of chemistry of the lead actors. After the overwhelming box office returns, CA became bankable again. He even won acting awards for his role. Still, his fans hoped that he would return to his former network, where he could definitely add more excitement.

When circumstances indicated that CA was happily settled in his new network, he found himself in a project that had many connections to his former network. This move was read as a sign that CA was coming back. Yet, both sides are silent, and CA is continuing his projects with his current station as well as other outfits. As to the reason his former network seemed to soften up towards him, people can only speculate.

Allegedly, a secret meeting took place between CA and a Powerful Mover (PM) abroad. CA and PM took separate flights and then saw each other at the said location. Then, when PM came back, she immediately talked to other insiders and recommended that a project should be given to CA. As PM is very influential, the first actor (FA) who has been quite loyal to the station was bumped off, and the role was given to CA. Comparing both actors, CA is more competent, whereas FA has not been quite lucky with his projects. However, FA, despite offers from other stations, has opted to remain loyal even if the network has not really been giving him worthy projects.

The grapevine has it that CA is a favorite of PM. A reality check is that success in a network also depends on the backer. Thus, if the backer is well-placed, he or she can easily get excellent projects for the concerned talent even if previous projects did not perform as expected. If CA is indeed the favorite of PM, what happens to her former apple of the eye (AE), who has been relegated from primetime to an afternoon slot? Perhaps PM has gone tired of AE and has shifted attention to the hunkier and more charming CA.
