TV is not the only form of entertainment. The most intelligent kids I know get to watch tv once a week. My daughter watches some shows on YouTube and some on disney junior but not local TV because we didn't expose her. Shea doesn't know vice Ganda, or any local soap. She can get better entertainment value from other more substantial things.
Well its true! I can say that they are really singers.. Unlike nowadays who just made album cause they are just famous but they cannot even carry a tune! Omg. Some people.
Lea Salonga is acceptable. She has proven herself in the International Musical scenes and even sang as Ariel and Mulan. Not everyone watches local TV. My daughter don't. So those who made a few albums here should not have been there. How bakya.
The classics should have been there. The national artists. Not these local celebs who made a few albums and made box office films I won't even let my daughter to watch
10:22 As if namang di manonood ng TV ang daughter mo at di sila makikilala? Hayyy ang OA. What's wrong with them? They're not criminals, para naman pinalabas mo na napaka bad influence ng mga artists na 'to at may nalalaman ka pang you won't even let your daughter watch them. Tse!
anon 10:22 -- Sounds yung lesson oh...gagawin mo pang komplikado??? anon 12:29 -- oo nga pa-elitista epek tong si 10:22 eh...kawawa naman yung anak nya at hindi makakarelate sa pop culture...
Excuse me! My daughter relates to pop culture appropriate for her and I expose her to classics, not to prime time show pop culture/vice Ganda kind of pop culture.
I would want my kid to grow up well-rounded. Pero teka lumilihis na sa topic... again "people make sounds" lang ang lesson at hindi history of music so why complicate things? ah siguro kasi hindi nga makakarelate yung anak mo dahil hindi nya kilala yung mga nabanggit...
Yeah, but surely there are better singers to utilize than these four para naman may class ng kaunti. Lea Salonga, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Regine Velasquez, Kuh Ledesma to name a few. Para hindi naman napakamejemon.
Anon 5:46 napapalahata ang age mo...Kids will be able to relate more sa mga nabanggit na singers sa book...hindi naman libro para sa mga matatanda yan eh....isa pa, ibig mo bang sabihin kapag mas matanda eh "class" na at yung mas nakakabata eh "jeje" na agad?? wow ha....
For sure ikaw din yung 10:22 ano? The book clearly classifies people who make sounds? Classic lang ba ang people who make sounds? For sure naman may ibang book or subjects na may lesson diyan about sa pinagpipilitan mong classics. Small things and yet you make it oh so complicated.
kids esp young k2 kids know these singers. if you give examples of classic singers such as pilita corales or sampaguita, do you think they could picture these singers in their minds?
Kinder 2 yan. The topic is sound hindi ito music class or civic and culture. Paano maachieve ang intention to make the student understand the concept that music is also sound kung mga di kilala ng bata ang example.
If i were to edit those pictures, i'll choose Pilita Corales, Ryan Cayabyab, Lea Salonga, and Basil Valdez - so the kids of this generation would get to know the pillars of our music industry
Im sorry anon 12.29 but your choices are unacceptable. This is just for sound and not history. Do you think your child can relate if they put those oldies there?
Lucresia Kasilag was born in 1917 and passed away in 2008. She was declared a National Artist back in 1989. Let's learn something about out culture and heritage, dear.
Siguro sa history subject or civic and culture pwede yang mga sinasabi mo.
Dito sa nakalista, I've only purchased Christian Bautista albums, but I am familiar of Erik and Yeng's multiple original songs. For Sarah, I remember that Saturno song Forever Is Not Enough.
Basic lesson lang about sounds. The author just wrote down those names, perhaps to make it easier for the kids to relate.
My God! How st*pid is that mentality? If we want them to learn only those they can relate to, how are they ever learning history and culture? You want them to watch cartoons all day? Major cringe factor this statement.
At the age of 5, lelecturan mo sila ng ganon para lamang sa "people make sounds"
Where do you teach? I cringe at the fact that you even had to say you're a preschool teacher? Proud ka with that kind of mentality? Napaka baba naman ng standard ng school. I hope it's not one of those schools charging over 100k annually, otherwise the tuition fee parents like me pay for are just going to waste for a teacher like you.
si anon 12:01 naman oh ...tama naman si anon 1:23 simple lang nung lesson eh papakumplikaduhin mo? kaw nga ano lesson plan mo for "people make sounds" ?
Not making things complicated. I'm just saying hindi lahat ng bata would relate to the pop singers shown. Hindi lahat ng bata exposed sa showtime or variety shows dahil there are better ways to entertain yourself than these singers. I listen to local- but from people who actually makes serious music like up dharma down etc. not everyone wants to sing Sarah g's song ok?
Ten years from now the book will seem outdated dahil mga laocean na yan by then except maybe Sarah. To keep the book timeless across generations for use by future classes, it would be best to include cross-generaional legends.
hindi naman yata HEKASI ang subject... 'di naman sinabing mga national artists. this is actually effective kasi current, napapanood at naririnig talaga ng mga pupils.
Matagal na pong may singers sa book. Sa history and culture.
this is nothing new...even here in north america, there are books that give examples using current artist, grade schools uses hanna montana, lizzy mcguire, highschool uses artist like beatles and other well known bands, again this is for the kids to relate not for the parents to relate to, i think it's actually brilliant using current well known artist (as long as they're legit and wholesome) for kids to relate to and get on with the current time
The parents may not have known the singers but the kids nowadays can actually see these singers on the tv.that way,it would be easy for the kids to uderstand and learn.
5:23 local lang mababa agad standards? e yung katulad mong pinoy pero pinapalaki ang anak in a Western culture? Tutal mukang mataas masyado standards mo to be local, lipat ka na lang ibang bansa teh. hiyang hiya si Rizal sayo!
Oh no! We go to CCP a lot! And when princes Sarah was airing pwede sya manood nun. Pero bakit ko sya panonoorin ng showtime? Or vice Ganda? Mas mabuti ba yung kesa mag park nalang kami, mag bike or mag drawing habang nasa bahay? We also read Filipino books to her. So pls wag mong sabihjn we western culture gusto ko para Sa anak ko.
2:12 and 5:23 Then what do you mean by "My preK doesn't watch local TV" Yuo just insinuated that local is substandard. So wag na mag excuse na punta na lang ng park instead of watching.
Sana nilagay din si Angeline Quinto!
ReplyDeleteBakit naman hindi? People make sounds nga ang lesson diba?
ReplyDeleteYes but not everyone watches local TV. My daughter don't. They should know have included the classics.

I don't find anything wrong with this. When I was still studying Japanese at school, maraming japanese celebrities ang nasa textbook namin.

Deleteduh!
Deleteano naman sad dito ha??
DeleteI don't see anything wrong here, they're actually great singers.
ReplyDeleteI dont get it pero what's wrong?
ReplyDeleteNothing is wrong. Colonial Mentality much? Be proud of our artists

DeleteRyan Cayabyab is not a singer. Fyi lng.
DeleteHistory ng music ba ang topic acheng?
DeleteIm sorry anon 12.29 but your choices are unacceptable. This is just for sound and not history. Do you think your child can relate if they put those oldies there?

ReplyDeleteWritten
DeleteIm 40 but i dont know who lucresia kasilag is. I know levi celerio and george canseco but i think they are not singers.
DeleteAgree ako sayo.

ReplyDeleteBwahaha... Uy left out naman Si Enchong and kathryn b? AFTER 2 or 3 platinum albums. OH My gulay!
