I don't think it's fair to say that the breakup playlist is better than begin again. Iba iba kasi ang likes natin katulad ng Silver Linings Playbook critics raved about it in the US, pero I'm kind of use to the filipino element in a movie so I didnt really enjoy it as much as I thought I would. So comparison betwen two movies is more of an opinion.

Hollywood has a lot of recycled plots too. Most series are actually based on comic books or novels, so Hollywood is not that original. They also milked the vampire and zombie apocalypse plot, how many movies and series in the last 5 years have they done. In the philipoines tight ang budget for effect because they dont have the world wide gross that a Hollywood film can make. How many korean films have you watched that was totally different from what you have seen before.

I've watched Begin Again and it's a good movie actually. Of all the movies I've watched last year (I've watched 50+ movies) I can say Begin again is on my Top 5 worthy to watch for movie. But do not compare this to TBP because first, the plot is different from each other, cause lead stars of BA does not have an intimate encounter but purely a professional and friendly approach as both are having different attack when it comes to the romance/love part. TBP however, lead stars are romantically involve with each other. Just my 2 cents. Character history is different from each other as well.
I am a fan of both Sarah G. and Papa P. Yes, katulad ni Lea, please let's not go down this road. I think even Sarah and Papa P are both embarrassed about this comparison. Whoever thought of this idea to promote the movie in this manner should have thought of the negative impact sa ibang tao na hindi naman fan pero interesado mapanood because of the good reviews. Begin Again was an average film. It is not an impossible task to surpass it in quality. Not every Hollywood movie is top notch and that is the case for Begin Again. Actually, it's irrelevant how good or bad The Breakup Playlist is, I find it hilarious how these artists hold Begin Again in such high regard.
If you want a romantic film that revolves around music, I would suggest giving "Once" a go. It doesn't hurt that it has some great tunes.

ReplyDeleteAng boring daw po ng TBPL... Wala daw pong chemistry si Sarah at Piolo. Kaya wag ng ipilit pa abs cbn...it's a flop. Hindi po kinagat ng manonood na 15m Yung first day dahil, laki daw ng padding. Anu ba yan....wag na Rin I compare dahil sa acting pa Lang Wala ng binabatbat. Kalokaaaa!

ReplyDeleteHollywood has a lot of recycled plots too. Most series are actually based on comic books or novels, so Hollywood is not that original. They also milked the vampire and zombie apocalypse plot, how many movies and series in the last 5 years have they done. In the philipoines tight ang budget for effect because they dont have the world wide gross that a Hollywood film can make. How many korean films have you watched that was totally different from what you have seen before.

DeleteI've watched Begin Again and it's a good movie actually. Of all the movies I've watched last year (I've watched 50+ movies) I can say Begin again is on my Top 5 worthy to watch for movie. But do not compare this to TBP because first, the plot is different from each other, cause lead stars of BA does not have an intimate encounter but purely a professional and friendly approach as both are having different attack when it comes to the romance/love part. TBP however, lead stars are romantically involve with each other. Just my 2 cents. Character history is different from each other as well.

Whoever thought of this idea to promote the movie in this manner should have thought of the negative impact sa ibang tao na hindi naman fan pero interesado mapanood because of the good reviews. ReplyDeleteBegin Again was an average film. It is not an impossible task to surpass it in quality. Not every Hollywood movie is top notch and that is the case for Begin Again. Actually, it's irrelevant how good or bad The Breakup Playlist is, I find it hilarious how these artists hold Begin Again in such high regard.
ReplyDeleteIf you want a romantic film that revolves around music, I would suggest giving "Once" a go. It doesn't hurt that it has some great tunes.
