  12. Honestly, I've stopped listening to OPM songs a long time ago. I used to like those OPM songs way back around a decade ago, I guess. But I'd like to acknowledge JaDine because of them, I've learned to embrace OPM industry again. Admit it, they are not as bad as what some people said about them. Those people might never heard any of their songs, they just bad-mouthed them just for the sake of bashing and dragging them down. I'm not a fantard but im a FAN, hope others get to know the difference between the two. Others just kept on bashing that why it took a long time to achieve a "Gold album", for me I wouldnt mind because I know those people who actually bought the CDs learned to appreciate their art not just because of "hoarding" the albums, lol sorry. I actually salute Viva for reviving the death of OPM industry in the Philippines. Because of jadine, I learned that Viva has many hidden gems, unlike (lets not just mention), just for the sake of profits. Srsly, SMH.

However, these two artists have brilliant voices. but if they want to have albums, I think they must have that pang "masa" appeal to everyone so that people would avail their albums.

  17. Eh kasi if you listen to OPM nowadays, pare-pareho lang tunog lahat eh!
Everything's stuck in the '90s. I get that Alternative music was the trend, and OPM was at its peak during the '90s, but parang we got stuck in that era na hanggang ngayon ganun2 pa rin na mga tracks ang nire-release ng mga local artists. In general, people want the next 'new' or 'it' thing, something that's unique & fresh, but OPM is not giving the public those things kasi halos yung mga tracks parang 90s-inspired lagi. Pare-pareho at paulit-ulit, and people basically grew tired of it, so how can you expect the public to support it??! The tracks are lame, the music videos have no creativity, walang quality lahat! So you can't blame the public din kung bakit walang supporta sa Philippine music industry.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Agree. Puro mga makalumang foreign songs like Bed of Roses, Careless Whisper, I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing, etc... Puro ganun naririnig ko sa jeep. LOL.

  18. Don't know these 2 but maraming magaling na singers ang Viva and Star Magic na madami ring sales (Sarah, Erik S, Yeng, Jed, etc.) kaya huwag nyang sabihing walang chance ang "real singers". Baka siya wala pero yung iba meron. For international peeps, hindi lahat magaling na singers and can sing live.. for every Adele, Sam Smith.. meron ding Miley, One Direction, JB who have average voices but have star factor.

    ReplyDelete

    1. i agree with u. hindi kasalanan ng artist kung mas marami silang fans kesa sa mga legit singers and besides, may novelty category kung saan aminado si anne curtis na doon sya kabilang. Regarding james reid, daniel etc, infairness sa kanila, they can sing very well. wag sana silang bitter.

      Delete

  20. i guess kaya naisip at naitweet ni Rhap yun as he was watching Nadine Lustre and James Reid prod sa ASAP kasi napagcompare niya ung dalawa from their closest LT rival, sa KathNiel, days lang Platinum na agad.. eto sa Jadine antagal muna tapos Gold lang plus they can sing Live naman. how come?? naisip ko lang total he clarified naman na he's not refering Jadine, so sino pa ba?

  21. Philippines should learn from South Korea's KPop Revolution. All original music and quality music videos. Not all boy bands and girl pop group have great singing voices, but they really promote original music.

Every music video is well-produced, well-choreographed pa. Plus their own government helps them promote their brand of Music around the world.

    1. kpop all original? d po talamak nga s kanila ang plagiarism e.me mga gnagawa din cla na korean versions ng old songs, so ung mga bata n d naabutan yung gen ng songs non ite-take na original kpop yun.
yung music videos naman, minsan walang connect s song yung mtv. yung lyrics mdalas pag kpop walang sense, maganda lng yung beat.
but i agree with you dun s galing nila magpromote ng artists nila

      Delete
At maganda kasi suportado ng gov't kasi inangkin na nila as part of culture nila.

Baka hindi lang sa songs may problem ang pinas baka naman may identity crisis talaga tayo kasi halo-halong culture from north americans to european to chinese and now koreans ang ina-adopt (or ginagaya) natin.

      Delete

The public wants someone who is not only talented but pleasant to look at as well.
    Look at Regine Velasquez.
She's a great singer but If she didn't reinvent herself, looks and style wise baka hindi siya naging ganoon kasikat.

    ReplyDelete

  34. I agree with Guji and Rhap, medyo sampal sa mukha rin talaga sa mga legit singers yung mga "singers" na nabibigyan ng album but lip-syncing lang. But then again, showbiz is a business kaya nga show business e marketing strategy na nila and mas gugustuhin ng mga negosyante sa showbiz na maginvest sa mga artist na alam nilang malakas sa tao at maraming fans. Syempre sino ba naman ang magsusugal sa alam nilang di patok sa tao, I know bith of them nabigyan na ng chance to showcase their talents at marami rin naman talaga nagalingan sa sknila pero yun nga hanggang paghanga lang sknila sa talent nila ang kayang ibigay ng tao ngunit di ibig sabihin nito ay pagkakagastusan nilang bilhin ang album/shows nila.

  45. I think filipino's goes with what makes them happy...it's their money they spend anyways. And I think a lot of filipino love to sing kahit walang boses kaya mas nakaka relate sila sa mga wanna be...its more like entertainment than talent, and Masa always wanna be entertained. Life is hard already so they do what makes them happy...It's sad for other singer, hanap na lang sila ng ibang work kaysa magalit sila sa mga tao na sumusuporta sa idol nila at sa mga idol na wanna be singer. Ganyan talaga ang buhay, your happiness first before anyone, yun nga lang sad for someone na gustong makilala at kumita sa talent nila. Lahat naman siguro kahit walang ganda ang boses pwede kumanta sa videoke basta may pera, ganun din yung mga entertainer if they can make their fans happy and entertained, then why not.
