They're both good! Just that Eula's was more heartfelt. Maybe the angle of the shot? Or the actress's voice? Jodie is more soft spoken compared to Eula. I believe Jodie will also make some scenes her own in later episodes for her role as Amor Powers.

This was an iconic scene from Pangako Sa 'Yo. For me, Eula did it better. She delivered her lines with perfect intonation. You can truly feel the "storm of revenge" raging inside Eula's Amor.

Pabayaan na natin kasi mababaw lang standards ni 12:43 at non iba pa pang nagsasabi na super ganda ng PSY, lalo na yon mga iba na nagagalingan na agad sa pagacting nila Kath and Daniel, eh kahit na wala pa silang scenes binibased lang nila doon sa trailer. Yong pagsigaw ni Yna non nakita si Angelo, best acting na sa kanila yong.
Honestly. It's not about Eula as the original. I'm not saying that Jodi is bad at acting. She's not. She made a unique character that fits her character. However, her acting in that scene was so lacking. It felt so pa-cute. Her acting in that scene, after she got raped, was even far better than her acting in this specific scene. She was holding back. It was so disappointing.

Unpopular opinion here. I think Jodi's acting was better. Medyo parang pa-tula kasi yung kay Eula dahil sa gestures ng kamay niya. If you take off your nostalgic glasses, mas ok yung acting ni Jodi talaga. Medyo na-off lang ako sa pagchange ng camera angle dun kay Jodi. LOL.

Nothing wrong with stating opinion but really... those who made their comments here were spouting their hate... calling others prejudiced, into imitators, etc. Also, they made the assumption that people are judging Jodie because she's not the original. So not true.
I was okay with her acting up to that momentous moment. It was so lacking. There was no revengeful intent in the way she delivered her lines. She just lost her whole family. Her one and only daughter and yet she cries cutely? It was very lacking in despair.
EULA ofcourse. I can still remember how moving this scene was years ago, her struggles prior to this were just too heartbreaking so when she broke down and uttered that line, it really hits you. You know she meant it come hell or high water. I just felt scared for the Buenavistas then. Iba ang hugot, Intense! Sobrang nagmarka to for me kaya na-bother ako sa pagchange ng alipin to api. Good job pa din kay Jodi. :)
You know what... I actually don't really dislike Angelica's character here. I do think she is quite over acting but the way her character is written is quite well. You, as the viewer, knows where she's coming from. They did her character where she's not genuinely bad... that it was brought about by her loss, the life that she lived, etc. That... if anything... there's a possibility of redemption for her character, at the end of the story.

It's not about comparing them but it's about the lack of depth in Jodi's expression, that part was very saddening. She had no anger. No pain. Whereas Eula, you can sense her anger, pain, and despair.

I like Jodi pero i can't wait to see how she will evolve into Amor Powers. I didn't watch the original series but i remember how fierce Eula and Jean were based sa usapang bakla sa school, lol. I would also see some scenes, intense talaga.
Too much trying hard si Eula sobrang hindi natural ang arte kasi ganyan ang style nuong sinauna parang opera lang ngayon ay modern generation na they act naturally .
Magkaiba yung pag atake nila sa Amor characters kasi magkaiba yung pinaghuhugutan. Si Eula, galing sa galit, si Jodi galing sa deep pain. Bilang manonood, nirerespeto ko yung kanilang husay at craft as an artist sa scene na yun. Mas gusto kong maging point of comparison ang pagiging vengeful nila as Amor Powers.
In terms sa creativity mismo ng palabas. Eula did it better. Mas intense ang pinag daanan nyang hirap sa mga scenes. Kaya nung dineliver nya yang line na yan sobrang intense din. Ung kay jodi kinuha lang sa loveteam walang masyadong hugot.
Ang weird lang ng phrasing ni Jodi sa lines niya. Hindi natural ang labas ng pagbato ng linya niya dahil sa mga pauses. And yes ang pangit ng camera angles na pinili, nasira tuloy yung eksena.
Wag na kasi gumawa ng remake kung ayaw ng comparison. Yung ireremake pa kasi isang iconic na serye. Ok naman sana mga idols nyo. Kaso hindi lang sila fit sa roles. Sinoportahan ko ng bonnga ung got to believe nila. Pero syempre kelangan i accept na hindi lahat ng roles bagay. Kaya gumawa nlng ulit sila ng orig serye. Keri naman nila.
Eula. Hands down. Jodi acted okay... until that momentous part. I found her acting in that particular scene, lacking. It lacks depth in anger, pain, and despair. Additionally, I'm not sure how Jodi would act out the evolved form of Amor, especially if she lacks the revengeful conviction.
Honestly, it would have been better if Jodie followed the flow of her character in this scene. It's so unlike the character that she's been trying to portray towards the very beginning. Her character is not the same as Eula's character, therefore, she shouldn't have copied this scene the way Eula did this scene. It's completely unfit. It would have been better if she stared blankly, started crying, and then just screamed while tearing that piece of paper into pieces.
I like jodi's acting pero di dramatic yun mga bato at pagtayo nya..yun kay Eula ..Her acting is Ok pero nadala ng background ng payatas at pagkakaupo nya...
eula...the original of course....her face, her voice, her anger, her body language..you could feel the chills...jodi looked like she was joining a declamation contest...no offense meant, i love the 2 ladies, but amor will always be equal to eula...no one else...
Eula gave depth and the role was a perfect fit for her, Jodi was miscast and she looks and sounds constipated. The problem with remakes is that you have to do better and you have to make sure that you can make the role your own. Sad to say it was a major fail.

ReplyDeleteUnpopular opinion here. I think Jodi's acting was better. Medyo parang pa-tula kasi yung kay Eula dahil sa gestures ng kamay niya. If you take off your nostalgic glasses, mas ok yung acting ni Jodi talaga. Medyo na-off lang ako sa pagchange ng camera angle dun kay Jodi. LOL.

Nothing wrong with stating opinion but really... those who made their comments here were spouting their hate... calling others prejudiced, into imitators, etc. Also, they made the assumption that people are judging Jodie because she's not the original. So not true.
DeleteI was okay with her acting up to that momentous moment. It was so lacking. There was no revengeful intent in the way she delivered her lines. She just lost her whole family. Her one and only daughter and yet she cries cutely? It was very lacking in despair.

I can still remember how moving this scene was years ago, her struggles prior to this were just too heartbreaking so when she broke down and uttered that line, it really hits you. You know she meant it come hell or high water. I just felt scared for the Buenavistas then. Iba ang hugot, Intense! Sobrang nagmarka to for me kaya na-bother ako sa pagchange ng alipin to api. Good job pa din kay Jodi. :)

ReplyDeleteYou know what... I actually don't really dislike Angelica's character here. I do think she is quite over acting but the way her character is written is quite well. You, as the viewer, knows where she's coming from. They did her character where she's not genuinely bad... that it was brought about by her loss, the life that she lived, etc. That... if anything... there's a possibility of redemption for her character, at the end of the story.

DeleteCompletely disagree. Jodi delivered her lines in a cutely way. She was holding back. She was acting okay up to that moment. It was such a let down. Eula was the one who acted with intensity. You can sense her anger, despair, and pain.

DeleteI agree... Amor-Eduardo tandem now has more kilig factor than Eula-Tonton in the past. However, I disagree about your comment in regards to comparing Eula and Jodi. It's not about comparing them but it's about the lack of depth in Jodi's expression, that part was very saddening. She had no anger. No pain. Whereas Eula, you can sense her anger, pain, and despair.

Unlike kay Jodi, yung facial expression niya parang majejebs lang.. di ko masyadong feel yung galit. Parang nag ho-hold back pa siya. Kulang ng umph. And ang pangit ng camera shifting, parang horror ang dating. So Eula for me. Di naman porket original kaya sasabihin na magaling kundi MAS magaling talaga umarte si EULA. Tanggap tanggap din tayo.

ReplyDeleteMagkaiba yung pag atake nila sa Amor characters kasi magkaiba yung pinaghuhugutan. Si Eula, galing sa galit, si Jodi galing sa deep pain. Bilang manonood, nirerespeto ko yung kanilang husay at craft as an artist sa scene na yun. Mas gusto kong maging point of comparison ang pagiging vengeful nila as Amor Powers.

ReplyDeleteIn terms sa creativity mismo ng palabas. Eula did it better. Mas intense ang pinag daanan nyang hirap sa mga scenes. Kaya nung dineliver nya yang line na yan sobrang intense din. Ung kay jodi kinuha lang sa loveteam walang masyadong hugot.

ReplyDeleteWag na kasi gumawa ng remake kung ayaw ng comparison. Yung ireremake pa kasi isang iconic na serye. Ok naman sana mga idols nyo. Kaso hindi lang sila fit sa roles. Sinoportahan ko ng bonnga ung got to believe nila. Pero syempre kelangan i accept na hindi lahat ng roles bagay. Kaya gumawa nlng ulit sila ng orig serye. Keri naman nila.

ReplyDeleteEula. Hands down. Jodi acted okay... until that momentous part. I found her acting in that particular scene, lacking. It lacks depth in anger, pain, and despair. Additionally, I'm not sure how Jodi would act out the evolved form of Amor, especially if she lacks the revengeful conviction.

ReplyDeleteHonestly, it would have been better if Jodie followed the flow of her character in this scene. It's so unlike the character that she's been trying to portray towards the very beginning. Her character is not the same as Eula's character, therefore, she shouldn't have copied this scene the way Eula did this scene. It's completely unfit. It would have been better if she stared blankly, started crying, and then just screamed while tearing that piece of paper into pieces.

ReplyDeleteEula gave depth and the role was a perfect fit for her, Jodi was miscast and she looks and sounds constipated. The problem with remakes is that you have to do better and you have to make sure that you can make the role your own. Sad to say it was a major fail.
