Ang pinaglalalaban nila ay una, yung service yrs nila na maaring malaki ang equivalent pag nagretire sila, at pangalwa, ung benefits nila like hmo, leaves, allowances na hindi nila nakukuha for so long already. no one's indispensable in a company, kahit CEO pa. point here is, pinagtrabahuhan nila yung salary nila and hindi kelan man obliged magbigay ng OR ang empleyado, it should be the other way around. Employers must provide payslips.

My brother used to work for GMA. Ayon 10years nagtiis hanggang sa huli contractual pa rin. He and his colleagues tried to lodge a complaint ano sabi ng management... eh di mag resign kayo kung ayaw nyo ng patakaran. Bihira ka makakita ng ni regular yan khit 20 years kn contractual kp rin dahil sa kautakan nila pr di sila magbigsy ng benefits. Matagal na dapat yan inimbestigahan ng DOLE. Marami pa jan natanggal dahil ngtatag sila ng union. Kahit tumanda kn jn ni philhealth di ka makakuha. Sinasamantala nila mga empleyado dahil sa hirap humanap ng work nagtitiis na lang. Try nyong tanungin mga employees dyan. Walang awa!

I'm the original poster and asking for a little job security such as health insurance, ss benefits is just. There's always business decisions behind all these. People see the network stations as institutions that exist purely for entertainment but in truth, they have responsibilities to the stockholders. If you know how public companies run (and GMA is one of them), then you'll know why these things happen.
That doesn't only apply to public companies but is also true for companies not publicly-listed. And for GMA, they should strictly adhere to our Laws as a publicly-traded company. No room for this kind of issues as their FS are published and these are audited for all management assertions including compliance on governing laws.

no bias here... but I think GMA is struggling. They try to minimize their costs as they only have a few profitable shows to count on for their revenue. They have minimal liabilities for a company that big, therefore, no investments that could provide them with sizeable returns. ABS has gone through the same before, they had their share of financial struggles due to high debt and shows that aren't generating much income. And looking at them now, I can see that they are already reaping what they sow and most of their shows and talents are really popular right now.

I think dahil sa mismanagement kaya nagkakaroon ng mga ganitong problema ang GMA. Gozon should have the decency to let some more knowledgeable in creatives and marketing & promo to handle the creative aspect of the decision-making pagdating sa shows, artistas and promos/marketing. Obviously, walang creative flare itong si Gozon kaya ganyan ang mga lumalabas. Kung sinu0sinong artista at kung anu-anong ka-cheapang show ang ina-approove nya. He needs to let someone tak the wheel.
Contractual employees are independent contractors. Since they are independent contractors they are responsible for their own financial obligations and for their own health insurance. Most companies nowadays have a lot of contractual employees as it helps in the financial viability of the institution and it has less legal issues. Yung sweldo nila po Hindi withheld but ayaw nila na mag sign ng acknowledgement receipt. If money changes hands po there needs to be a paper trail that the recipient received it. Everything has to be black and white. No one is indispensable in this world. When you are working for a company , the company can terminate the contract when they no longer need you or you did not meet their expectations. The employee can also terminate the relationship if they are no longer happy with their conditions. When an institution is in the midst of financial restructuring , the best option is to have contractual employees. There are a lot of companies who do that. May kakilala Nga ako na 8 years ng nagtratrabaho sa isang state run facility contractual pa rin because the county is in a deficit. single siya so it's ok but the other person has a family so he decided to leave after waiting for a year for a full time benefitted position. No one is irreplaceable in this world , there is always a younger , better, more productive ,trainable person that can replace you at a lower cost. It is up to the individual to manage his own career and his professional viability. Ganyan na ang mundo ngayon , Hindi obligation ng employer yan. It is an individual's responsibility. Huwag na I yong Asa mentality. If they are right , why protest . Take it to the labour court and let the court decide.

If there was really a case , I am sure there was arbitration as most companies like to settle out of court and avoid costly legal battles. Pag nag issue sila ng resibo, hihina ang kaso nila kase only third party service providers issue receipts. Just so you know, some of them have been working core tasks sa gma for more than a decade already. Ang pinaglalalaban nila ay una, yung service yrs nila na maaring malaki ang equivalent pag nagretire sila, at pangalwa, ung benefits nila like hmo, leaves, allowances na hindi nila nakukuha for so long already. Ikaw ba ang iassign sa baguio, sarili mong gastos ang pagkain mo, accom mo, etc. Pag dika ba naman nabwisit

Delete12:32 Really as far as I know even in the states there are a lot of contractual employees and specially when a lot of companies are undergoing financial restructuring so that the company's viability is protected. So how can GMA be third worldish as you termed it when the company is doing what other big corporations are doing in this world and sweetie the people who made those complex decisions are very educated and have full knowledge of the law. It is something that is beyond the grasp of your Ignacia level of understanding or Ignacia acceptable IQ standard. So please nakaka awa ka at nakakatawa ka sa pagiging ignorante mo. :)

ReplyDeleteMy brother used to work for GMA. Ayon 10years nagtiis hanggang sa huli contractual pa rin. He and his colleagues tried to lodge a complaint ano sabi ng management... eh di mag resign kayo kung ayaw nyo ng patakaran. Bihira ka makakita ng ni regular yan khit 20 years kn contractual kp rin dahil sa kautakan nila pr di sila magbigsy ng benefits. Matagal na dapat yan inimbestigahan ng DOLE. Marami pa jan natanggal dahil ngtatag sila ng union. Kahit tumanda kn jn ni philhealth di ka makakuha. Sinasamantala nila mga empleyado dahil sa hirap humanap ng work nagtitiis na lang. Try nyong tanungin mga employees dyan. Walang awa!

I'm the original poster and asking for a little job security such as health insurance, ss benefits is just. People see the network stations as institutions that exist purely for entertainment but in truth, they have responsibilities to the stockholders. If you know how public companies run (and GMA is one of them), then you'll know why these things happen.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't only apply to public companies but is also true for companies not publicly-listed. And for GMA, they should strictly adhere to our Laws as a publicly-traded company. No room for this kind of issues as their FS are published and these are audited for all management assertions including compliance on governing laws.

DeleteYeah, earning right isn't a big deal. It just makes you able to feed your family, send your kids to school, etc. By all means, deny them that since it's no big deal.
Deleteno bias here... but I think GMA is struggling. They try to minimize their costs as they only have a few profitable shows to count on for their revenue. They have minimal liabilities for a company that big, therefore, no investments that could provide them with sizeable returns. ABS has gone through the same before, they had their share of financial struggles due to high debt and shows that aren't generating much income. And looking at them now, I can see that they are already reaping what they sow and most of their shows and talents are really popular right now.

ReplyDeleteI think dahil sa mismanagement kaya nagkakaroon ng mga ganitong problema ang GMA. Gozon should have the decency to let some more knowledgeable in creatives and marketing & promo to handle the creative aspect of the decision-making pagdating sa shows, artistas and promos/marketing. Obviously, walang creative flare itong si Gozon kaya ganyan ang mga lumalabas. Kung sinu0sinong artista at kung anu-anong ka-cheapang show ang ina-approove nya. He needs to let someone tak the wheel.
ReplyDeleteContractual employees are independent contractors. Since they are independent contractors they are responsible for their own financial obligations and for their own health insurance. Most companies nowadays have a lot of contractual employees as it helps in the financial viability of the institution and it has less legal issues. Yung sweldo nila po Hindi withheld but ayaw nila na mag sign ng acknowledgement receipt. If money changes hands po there needs to be a paper trail that the recipient received it. Everything has to be black and white. No one is indispensable in this world. When you are working for a company , the company can terminate the contract when they no longer need you or you did not meet their expectations. The employee can also terminate the relationship if they are no longer happy with their conditions. When an institution is in the midst of financial restructuring , the best option is to have contractual employees. There are a lot of companies who do that. May kakilala Nga ako na 8 years ng nagtratrabaho sa isang state run facility contractual pa rin because the county is in a deficit. single siya so it's ok but the other person has a family so he decided to leave after waiting for a year for a full time benefitted position. No one is irreplaceable in this world , there is always a younger , better, more productive ,trainable person that can replace you at a lower cost. It is up to the individual to manage his own career and his professional viability. Ganyan na ang mundo ngayon , Hindi obligation ng employer yan. It is an individual's responsibility. Huwag na I yong Asa mentality. If they are right , why protest . Take it to the labour court and let the court decide.
