I must agree with this. OA na masyado.. Konting kibot.
Exactly! These whiners are actually giving LGBT a bad name. Their priority is to enter an exclusive club while there is so much oppression going on towards gays and lesbians that needs immediate attention. Parang ang babaw tuloy ng mga transgender. Congratulations Cross dressers who want in an exclusive club... You just set LGBT back a few decades with your bratty stand. --Avid LGBT supporter
at pak na paaaak sa veejay floresca showing her cali ID na female! jusko 3 yrs lang sa u.s. im not from here agad? and for what? just to enter a sleazy bar??? kalokaaaa!!!
3:58 super correct. its as if its the only thing that they are into. nagpapakita lang ito ng totoong kulay ng kanilang mga myembro. gusto mong hanapin asan sila? well, andali nasa mga clubs lang sila !!! naglalandi!
TUMPAK... all types of organization which claims to be an advocate of LGBT should read this....claiming for equality tapos pasosyalan and competition amongst the community ang nangyayari...
Dear atty. Rivera, thank you for your post. I fully understand your point. I am a transgender writing to you with my sincere point of view. The reason why the community is 'over reacting' is not because one was not merely allowed to party or have fun, but a transgender was denied of a simple and basic right to have fun in an supposedly just a gimik place or bar. We the lgbt community have been tolerant and understanding with us being just second class citizens. We must admit na because of who we are a simple use of a comfort room becomes dilemna much more fulfilling our dreams. It hurts because even if we excel in our scholastic performance for example, these achievements are useless most of the time because of discriminication. And we have tolerated that fact obviously. We seldom see transgenders in high positions. Halimbawa kapag ba ang isang transgender is tumakbo as a president, sa tingin po ba natin may chansa kmi na manalo. Wala! Malayo pa kng hindi man impossible na maabot un.
Or MMDA traffic enforcers man Lang why? Coz gusto niyo e social life the good life kaya nga visible kayo sa mga clubs and entertainment centers like resorts world! Second, majority sa inyo eh fashion ang focus And hairstyling so walang mga tulad niyo ang inventing things to help others coz wala namang nagsascientist o engineering o architecture sa inyo puro parties and social life with the elite ang goals niyo! Third ang mga second class citizens e yung mga poor it doesn't matter kung trans pa Ito o Hindi dahil it is how we treat the poor!
Look at what most of you trans are doing? Karesperespeto ba? Siguro dapat magsimula yan sa inyo. Kumilos din kayo ng tama.
Again, choose your battles. The effort you gave on this issue could have been more meaningful if invested on deeper and stronger issues. For example, lgbt deprived of access to healthcare and employment.. a more noble cause that can even motivate non-lgbt to rally the issue with you. Better yet, you can work on issues affecting both lgbt & non-lgbt, that way there is common ground that can further trigger or spark a more robust race towards acceptance and equality. And again, access to that kind of establishment will never be a.right. Do a battle cry if you are denied entrance to a public school, for example. I would not be surprised if next time, access to mrt section for women na naman poproblemahin if even simple rules & restrictions can't be.respected.
Hi. I understand how you feel. Pero sana nakuha mo tin yung point ni Atty who I really think make much more sense. Choose your battles where you position LGBT and this fight for equality and acceptance. Because LGBT spokespersons may be doing LGBT more harm than good since public perception now becomes masyadong mababaw na man ang issue na pinaglalaban. as you've said you've experienced a lot of discrimination why can't LGBT find one that is more relevant and where public perception and understanding of LGBT can widen at maging daan sa acceptance.
You are the reason why atty wrote that long post. Lahat tayo nakakaranans ng discrimination. Kahit anung gender preference mo. LGBT is trying to portray themselves as respectable human beings. Simple dresscode hindi masunod? Wherever u go may rules na sinusunod. Kasi as people we will simply choose to abide with the rules. Bibili nlng ako ng sapatos kesa magka problema. Or hindi nlng ako papasok. Simple right. Respect starts within u. Learn to obey to gain respect.
Sa tingin mo pag merong 2 straight na babae or lalaki sabay na nag apply ng work sa isang company, sino palaygay mo ang pipiliin, both of them excel in their scholastic records one graduated from PUP the other from UP? Pag merong isang Tausug na tatakbong Presidente palagay mo me boboto sa kanya?
Tama sobrang oa na ng mga beki. Hindi lang pinapasok super big deal na. Discrimination ek ek. Mga beking to sobrang oa
Super love the statement.
Again, choose your battles LGBT. The effort you gave on this issue could have been more meaningful if invested on deeper and stronger issues. For example, lgbt deprived of access to healthcare and education. That is a more noble cause and can even motivate non-lgbt to rally the issue with you. Better yet, you can also emphasize issues affecting both lgbt & non-lgbt, that way there is common ground that can further trigger or spark stronger race towards acceptance and social equality.

I'm sorry VJ but you're displaying a typical filipino mentality (not all but karamihan) na nakaapak lang sa US feeling kano na din. agree with bruce, this is overreaction and not worthy para ibalita sa news ng ilang linggo. NEXT!
Clap clap! Very well said. Yes, we do live in the third world country so lets focus on problems that makes us a third world country. I dont think by simply allowing crossdressers on that ignorant club would magically solve discrimination among the lgbt community.
Very well said. Choose the battles and be sensitive to others who are not as fortunate. Your examples are so enlightening and hit it right on the nail. Making noise about being denied entry to a club when majority if the masses are going hungry is so blatant and polarizing. I commend and applaud you.
kaartehan ng mga baklang pasosyal. never heard joel cruz or ricky reyes etc doing that diva attitude. ang mga totoong successful na bading na talagang naghirap at yumaman quite lang. pero itong mga biglang yaman dahil sa mga kinurakot nilang papa aw ang OOOOAAA ninyo!
Chura nitong si atty, bandang last part sa sinabi nia, kala mo naman lahat ng beki can afford. Hindi rin, tse! Pero agree ako for the most part, oa at shallow lang talaga ng issue nina veejay & co sa valk, not to mention wala sa lugar kasi pinagsisiksikan ang sarili sa private establishment
Dati pa me ganyan during the warly 90's sa Mars Disco marami rin sila nire reject n makapasok kahit babae o lalaki pag di nila feel so ganyan talaga me rule ang club na ganyan so walang magagawa, disceretion ng Valkyrie yan!!
I love you atty bruce!!!! Being denied entry to that so-called sosyal na club should be the least of your problems! Kung ayaw sa inyo, then go somewhere else. I am a fan now, Atty Bruce😃
true. parang hindi na nga ito "discrimination issue", more like "social climbers' issue". come on. They have their rules, igalang niyo. Kung di kayo papasukin, lumipat sa iba. Their loss not yours, di ba? unless, may iba kayong dahilan para isiksik ang sarili niyo dun.
Valkyrie Nightclub has a dress code. What not to wear? Sleeveless shirts, tank tops, sports jerseys, and shorts and cropped pants for men. Sandals, open shoes and slippers are also a no-no for the gentlemen. For the ladies, no slippers. Kung male ka pa din sa ID, wag ka mgsuot ng bawal for men. Kaya di sya nkapasok kasi naka-sandals, ndi dahil transgender sya. Asan discrimination dun? Dapat ngclose shoes na lang sya! Ung ID nya is California ID, valid ID ba sa Pinas un, ndi.
I am totally supportive of LGBT and acceptance of them in society but makes me sad when they get involved in these shallow issues rather than fighting with conviction on things that matter and will really change the perception and maaccept at maintindihan ng mas marami about treating LGBT as equals and fight for things na talagang makakataas ng level ng LGBT instead of now mukhang mas marami pang naiinis sa pinaglalaban ninyo.
He's on point. I have been stigmatized too because I look young to be on my job. But I let it go. It was bad, I felt bad but reacting like this? OA. They should just accept the apology and move forward.
Tolerance does not mean acceptance. We just learn to co-exist with respect.
Eto lang ang binasa kong article about this bar incident. O diba, lalong nakakainsulto?
Very well said.
You obviously didnt get my point. Natural maooffend ka dahil alam mong may katulad mong nakakapasok tapos ikaw hindi pwede? Syempre you have to tell the whole gay community sa Pinas.
Finally, a voice of reason. Bravo Atty.!!! Respect is earned, mga beks.
@12:52 so does that make him a criminal??? He's writing from a gay person's point of view, and his being a lawyer for that scammer has nothing to do with it. Ikaw ata ang makitid ang isip ateng/koya!
a glaring contrast between educated and feeling educated take on the issue... tama yan atty., choose your battles hwag yung parang amazona na uhaw sa gyera
People still clearly don't get the difference between cross-dressers and transgenders ... and the nature of sexual orientation and gender identity. Read up and educate yourselves. And if I may add, this issue - even when it has been happening for quite some time - became controversial only because more known personalities started to speak up. It is something which anyone, in any similar situation should do. Remember Jennifer Laude? And we also are one with the rest of the nation condemning what happened to SAF44. The difference is, in the collective issues that does not involve aspects of gender biases, the LGBT voice becomes one with everyone else's. While in cases like that of Valkyrie's it seems that the LGBT is alone in expressing its dismay kaya mas highlighted ang "ingay" at inaakala ng iba na OA.
Why? Most people regardless of sexual orientation see your fight against valkyrie as one of pa "sosyal" issues. Why don't you choose your battles which could impact our society more. A lot of people experience discrimination.
Wow. And that's the best you could say, Anon 11:25? Basa ka ng SOGIE and rehash on your logical skills. Perhaps then you'll have something much better to retort.
KAPAG HINDI KAYO PINAPASOK SA MGA PRECINCT POLLING PLACE BECAUSE YOU ARE FROM LGBT GROUP...ayun hindi na tama yun!
Husay ni Atty! I to am gay and I do think being accepted in Valkyrie has no relevance if you think about the plight of the gay community in our country. Tama na that they call the attention of management with regards to their discrimination. If they do not do anything about it then stop patronizing the establishment. These night clubs come and go anyway.
Bakit dinadamay mo trabaho niya? Bakit, kahit mamamatay tao may karapatan sa isang abogado. Please lang, argue on the level of his statements hindi yung wala kang masabi sisiraan mo na lang.
Hay hay. Where have you been hiding your brain? He is a lawyer and if he chooses to defend Janet Napoles that is his prerogative. That is also an isolated case.
Yan ang ok na "gay"! Kagalang-galang pa rin kahit pa sabihin mo na gay siya pero sa itsura pa lang eh kagalang-galang pa rin manamit and all, pati thinking, di puro kalandian (pardon for the word) or party party lang ang inaatupag!
Valkyrie like all the other overly priced and overly hyped pasosyal clubs in Manila will close down. It will eventually become a stupid clichè failed investment of people who are just in it to feel good abt themselves by being attached to a an "alta" crowd. A true Alta doesn't even give a rat's a** abt clubs like this. They party in their own private yachts and hire a good dj or on their own penthouse balcony. To be seen inside Valkyrie only provides a pretend social high but in the end, you poor little bastards will go back to your real life and feel bad abt spending a lot of money you worked hard for in your 9-5 job, for something not even tangible. Bow.
I must agree with this. OA na masyado.. Konting kibot. Haha

Sa tingin mo pag merong 2 straight na babae or lalaki sabay na nag apply ng work sa isang company, sino palaygay mo ang pipiliin, both of them excel in their scholastic records one graduated from PUP the other from UP?
DeleteAng ganda nito grabe. As in.
ReplyDeleteFinally! A breather from all the (over)reactions. Wow thank you Atty. Rivera. This time ka-LGBT nyo ang nagbigay ng level headed reasoning. KUDOS!
ReplyDeleteTama sobrang oa na ng mga beki. Hindi lang pinapasok super big deal na. Discrimination ek ek. Mga beking to sobrang oa
ReplyDeleteSuper love the statement.
ReplyDeleteAgain, choose your battles LGBT.
ReplyDeleteLove ur comment ateng!! Spot on!!

ReplyDeleteVery, very, very true... Very well said. -Anonymuse.
Hehe
I'm sorry VJ but you're displaying a typical filipino mentality (not all but karamihan) na nakaapak lang sa US feeling kano na din. agree with bruce, this is overreaction and not worthy para ibalita sa news ng ilang linggo. NEXT!
ReplyDeleteLol!
Hahaha!
On point!
ReplyDeleteClap clap! Very well said. Yes, we do live in the third world country so lets focus on problems that makes us a third world country. I dont think by simply allowing crossdressers on that ignorant club would magically solve discrimination among the lgbt community.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Aarte nyo.
ReplyDeletetotally agree..nkakasuka na ang pgka.oa ng mga tao tungkol sa issue na to..kng ganitong level lng dn ang pinaglalaban nyo, who would respect you?
ReplyDeletepak na pak! slow clap!
ReplyDeleteVery well said. Choose the battles and be sensitive to others who are not as fortunate. Your examples are so enlightening and hit it right on the nail. Making noise about being denied entry to a club when majority if the masses are going hungry is so blatant and polarizing. I commend and applaud you.
ReplyDeletekaartehan ng mga baklang pasosyal. never heard joel cruz or ricky reyes etc doing that diva attitude. ang mga totoong successful na bading na talagang naghirap at yumaman quite lang. pero itong mga biglang yaman dahil sa mga kinurakot nilang papa aw ang OOOOAAA ninyo!
DeleteFinally someone who really made sense! Salamat at nakaka happy makabasa nitong mga taong nag iisip talaga
ReplyDeleteAng galing nya. Ito un taong karesprespeto talaga. Sa kahit among gender, ang matalino pa rin ang nagstand out.
DeleteChura nitong si atty, bandang last part sa sinabi nia, kala mo naman lahat ng beki can afford. Hindi rin, tse!
ReplyDeletePero agree ako for the most part, oa at shallow lang talaga ng issue nina veejay & co sa valk, not to mention wala sa lugar kasi pinagsisiksikan ang sarili sa private establishment
some people are too quick to cry foul. I'm not against equality but don't play the lgbt card when things don't happen in your favor
ReplyDeleteTrue. Nakita ko to kagabi and I immediately followed Atty Bruce. I felt like dami ko matututunan sa kanya hehe - straight woman from taguig
DeleteTrue!!! :)
Deleteoo lawter nga ni janet napoles yan eh...marami talaga kau matututunan...gudluck
DeleteBaks, ibang issue yung kay Napoles.
DeleteI need to give a slow clap to this person.
ReplyDeleteDati pa me ganyan during the warly 90's sa Mars Disco marami rin sila nire reject n makapasok kahit babae o lalaki pag di nila feel so ganyan talaga me rule ang club na ganyan so walang magagawa, disceretion ng Valkyrie yan!!
So wag ng oa and move on na.
ReplyDeleteI love you atty bruce!!!! Being denied entry to that so-called sosyal na club should be the least of your problems! Kung ayaw sa inyo, then go somewhere else. I am a fan now, Atty Bruce😃
DeleteLGBT chosss...BS so much
ReplyDeletetrue. parang hindi na nga ito "discrimination issue", more like "social climbers' issue". come on. They have their rules, igalang niyo. Kung di kayo papasukin, lumipat sa iba. Their loss not yours, di ba? unless, may iba kayong dahilan para isiksik ang sarili niyo dun.
ReplyDeleteHahaha!!! Oo nga teh!!! Need to make siksik talaga ang peg? Hahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you atty...we can want everything but we ca'nt get everything we want..lgbt must chose what battles to fight...
ReplyDeleteBaka kc may isdang gustong mahuli na nasa loob kaya pilit gustong pumasok..e napahiya di nakapasok..kaya rant ng rant si ateng..
ReplyDelete4:28 tama ka teh. andyan kasi sa loob ang mga gwapong straight na gustong tuklawin ng mga ganid na pasosyal an beki! shame on them, siksik pa more!
DeleteValkyrie Nightclub has a dress code. Ang alam ko passport, SSS, PRC, LTO...
ReplyDeleteMISMO! Nadali mo, Attorney! *slow clap*
DeleteVery very well said!
ReplyDeleteThis is so true. Thanks Atty, :)
DeleteExactly!
ReplyDeleteHit the spot on that ATTY!
ReplyDeleteslow clap!
ReplyDeleteHe's on point. I have been stigmatized too because I look young to be on my job. But I let it go. It was bad, I felt bad but reacting like this? OA. They should just accept the apology and move forward.
ReplyDeleteI echo your sentiments atty! Galing mo for articulating what the silent majority's thoughts are.
ReplyDeletePinaka sensible na nabasa ko about the issue. *slow clap
ReplyDeleteIm very proud of my professor. Kuddos!
ReplyDeleteTolerance does not mean acceptance. We just learn to co-exist with respect.
Eto lang ang binasa kong article about this bar incident. O diba, lalong nakakainsulto?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteTotoong babae ako! Papasukin ako.
Delete- Divine Lee
Spot on Sir! So proud to be your student!!!
ReplyDeleteFinally! Someone has put some sense over this matter. Very well said!
ReplyDeleteMay ibang gays kasi kabastos bastos
ReplyDeleteBoy abunda actually leads the kaOAHan ng mga beki na to. Kairita.
ReplyDeleteVery well said.
DeleteYou obviously didnt get my point. Natural maooffend ka dahil alam mong may katulad mong nakakapasok tapos ikaw hindi pwede? Syempre you have to tell the whole gay community sa Pinas.
DeleteVery well said! Maliit na bagay masyadong pinapalaki. Ang dami daming ibang club juice colored. Parang mamamatay sila pag di pinapasok sa Valkyrie!
ReplyDeleteFinally, a voice of reason. Bravo Atty.!!! Respect is earned, mga beks.
ReplyDeleteare u crazy?!!this guys is the lawyer of janet napoles!!!
DeleteSo what? Anon 12:52. His case with janet napoles is a different storry. Why are you so irrational?
Delete@12:52 so does that make him a criminal??? He's writing from a gay person's point of view, and his being a lawyer for that scammer has nothing to do with it. Ikaw ata ang makitid ang isip ateng/koya!
Deletea glaring contrast between educated and feeling educated take on the issue... tama yan atty., choose your battles hwag yung parang amazona na uhaw sa gyera
ReplyDeleteMISMO!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! He was my professor. Very well said Sir!
ReplyDeletePeople still clearly don't get the difference between cross-dressers and transgenders ... and the nature of sexual orientation and gender identity.
ReplyDeleteOA pa rin. super OA, kaartehan!
DeleteWhy? Most people regardless of sexual orientation see your fight against valkyrie as one of pa "sosyal" issues. Why don't you choose your battles which could impact our society more. A lot of people experience discrimination.
DeleteWow. And that's the best you could say, Anon 11:25? Basa ka ng SOGIE and rehash on your logical skills. Perhaps then you'll have something much better to retort.
ReplyDeleteKAPAG HINDI KAYO PINAPASOK SA MGA PRECINCT POLLING PLACE BECAUSE YOU ARE FROM LGBT GROUP...ayun hindi na tama yun!
LOL
ReplyDeleteI read it twice, slow clap
ReplyDeleteFinally, somebody who makes common sense at sa gender pa nila.
ReplyDeleteVery well said! This is the only logical opinion I have read about the Valkyrie incident.
ReplyDeleteThis is the most sensible comment I've read regarding this over rated issue. Thumbs up Atty!
ReplyDeleteVery well said. Slow claps for atty
ReplyDeleteHusay ni Atty! I to am gay and I do think being accepted in Valkyrie has no relevance if you think about the plight of the gay community in our country. Tama na that they call the attention of management with regards to their discrimination. If they do not do anything about it then stop patronizing the establishment. These night clubs come and go anyway.
ReplyDeleteBakit dinadamay mo trabaho niya? Bakit, kahit mamamatay tao may karapatan sa isang abogado. Please lang, argue on the level of his statements hindi yung wala kang masabi sisiraan mo na lang.
DeleteDuh. Trabaho nya un. Anu pinag lalaban mo? And it's every Filipinos right to defend themselves in any court or get a lawyer. Stick with the issue teh.
DeleteHay hay. Where have you been hiding your brain? He is a lawyer and if he chooses to defend Janet Napoles that is his prerogative. That is also an isolated case.
DeleteYan ang ok na "gay"! Kagalang-galang pa rin kahit pa sabihin mo na gay siya pero sa itsura pa lang eh kagalang-galang pa rin manamit and all, pati thinking, di puro kalandian (pardon for the word) or party party lang ang inaatupag!
ReplyDeletevery well said. ito naman kasing mga baklang social climbers puro kalandian lang alam
ReplyDeleteValkyrie like all the other overly priced and overly hyped pasosyal clubs in Manila will close down. Bow.
ReplyDeleteA bruised ego does not mean discrimination.
ReplyDeleteGo atty. Bruce! -from your student last sem: )
ReplyDeleteIs this the same Atty. Bruce Rivera who represents Janet Lim Napoles? I wonder.
ReplyDelete
