Itong mga staff ang bumubuo ng isang company so marapat lang na bigyan ng importansya!
Redundancy yan. so hindi kailangan ng justice system not unless hindi ka babayaran. Usually ang tinatanggal dyan ay ang mga na-hire tapos nalugi naman ang show. Last in, first out ang rules or performance basis ang mga natatanggal.
Lahat po ng workers ang tinanggal as in they are closing all their provincial stations. Ginawa nla iyan w/out proper notice. Biglaan nalang. So sa tingin mo makatarungan ba yan?!!!!

Nagbugay naman daw ng cheke. Baka un na ang separation pay. Obligado kasi ang employer magbayad kapag ang termination ay dahil sa kumpanya at hindi empleyado.

The right word is redundancy... It is one of the just reasons under our labor code that a company can terminate the service of an employee even if they are regular employees.
Provided that the company can satisfy the requirements under our labor code. One of the reqs is to inform the employee and DOLE in writing one month prior to the last day of service to the employee...

There's such a banana called "pay in lieu of notice". Instrad of giving you 30 days' notice, the employer pays you that 30 days and you need not report for work after that. Plus, regular employees should be given their separation pay.

Notice must be given to DOLE 30 days prior the effectivity so malamang they complied w the requirements of the law. After that, it's legal to serve it. Meeting of the minds yan eh. What if the separation package is above what is prescribed by the law and the employee agrees to it, all the more that is enforceable. Plain and simple.
Pinagcompare namin ang financial statements ng gma and abs years ago in college. Mas malaki pa net income ng gma noon and mas malaki ang cash pero ang abs mas malaki ang investment on capital assets. Kita naman natin very good investments ng abs kasi ang lawak ng reach nila and ang ganda ng quality ng images.

GMA won't have an established reputation if they didn't have the right values and practical people working behind it. They must have chosen the lesser evil, something that would benefit most people.

The reason is to prevent the employee to make inappropriate actions against the company like sabotage, theft, etc. all companies has the same policy on lay offs. Gozon is a lawyer so he knows the labor code more than the employees. Wag na magaksaya ng laway, accept the separation pay, move forward and find another job. Thats the best way to deal with it.

According to the article that I read, the termination will be effective in May, so that's one month when the termination was served. Regular employees were also given a check amounting to their monthly salary x the number of years they served GMA.

ReplyDeleteThere's such a banana called "pay in lieu of notice". Instrad of giving you 30 days' notice, the employer pays you that 30 days and you need not report for work after that. Plus, regular employees should be given their separation pay.

ReplyDeletenangyari narin to sa abscbn before 200 employees, lay off. Binayaran nila, talo sila sa DOLE. Ganun ang isang softdrink company, naglayoff pero merong palugit saka yung pay katumbas ng years bayad nila.

ReplyDeleteIt happened to ABSCBN din before and dinemanda sila ng mga na lay-off, nanalo sa kaso yung mga employess kaya they were paid a huge amount. Some of them transferred to tv5. Ngayon naman sa tv5 nagkakaofferan na ng "package" parang early retirement na. Kapag hindi mo kinuha eh gagawan ka ng dahilan para magkamemo ka at matanggal, kaya avail na lang sila ng cheke para may makuha sila. Nagbabawas na talaga, pati sa news dami tinanggal ni Luchi dahil mga bias daw kay bongbong marcos. Dami din tinanggal na public service programs si wilma galvante like t3.

ReplyDeleteNotice must be given to DOLE 30 days prior the effectivity so malamang they complied w the requirements of the law. After that, it's legal to serve it.

Mas malaki pa net income ng gma noon and mas malaki ang cash pero ang abs mas malaki ang investment on capital assets. Kita naman natin very good investments ng abs kasi ang lawak ng reach nila and ang ganda ng quality ng images.
ReplyDeleteHindi lang naman GMA ang nagle lay off. A softdrinks company recently had to cut down hundreds of employees. They were given an early retirement package based on the number of years they've worked for the company. Usually redundancy ang reason and not because nalulugi ang company. Kung bata pa ang na lay off win-win situation yan. Kasi may pera ka na, makakahanap ka pa uli ng work.

Sa dami naman kasi ng kompanya ng lopez group of companies pwede nila ipalipalit yung ibang tao sa iba ibang kumpanya kaya merong new ideas. And may dalawang production team for tv and dreamscape at starcreative so marami ang ideas na pumapasok. Hindi solely sa taas ang desisyon sa mga shows so maximize. Sana makabangon ang GMA kasi para may kompetensya pa din. Hehe!

DeleteThis is given much bigger light because of the company's name. The media is still a business, and I'm pretty sure most companies do this as well. GMA won't have an established reputation if they didn't have the right values and practical people working behind it. They must have chosen the lesser evil, something that would benefit most people.

DeleteGanyan talaga pag tinanggal, on the spot uuwi ka na. The reason is to prevent the employee to make inappropriate actions against the company like sabotage, theft, etc. all companies has the same policy on lay offs. Gozon is a lawyer so he knows the labor code more than the employees. Wag na magaksaya ng laway, accept the separation pay, move forward and find another job. Thats the best way to deal with it.

Mukhang na uli na to Ni Ramon Ang and magkakaroon ng structuring financially , given na yan kase Marami ng shareholders . It's all about moneymaking not because nalulugi na sila .
ReplyDeleteKapag redundancy, as long as babayaran ng kumpanya ang "30-day" notice or 1 month pay, walang kaso. Aside from that, the redundant employees must be given an equivalent of 1 month pay for every year of service, plus pro-rated bonuses and leave credit conversion if applicable.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the article that I read, the termination will be effective in May, so that's one month when the termination was served. Regular employees were also given a check amounting to their monthly salary x the number of years they served GMA.
