binasa ko yung trilogy, and I must say binasa ko dahil curious lang ako at hindi ko naman kailangang magustuhan, usually when I read a book lalo na kung maganda, maximum 2 days lang tapos ko na.. sa fifty shades, 2 weeks ata bago ko natapos ang isa.. the book consists of frequent exchanging emails from ms steele and m. grey, the ceo. dun pa lang-boring na. yung konting kilos lang ni Christian eh nalilib*gan na ung girl which is napaka corny for me. lip biting, spanking, whipping.. well, which is for me nakakabwisit, LOL, cguro lang di ko maappreciate yung klase ng lovemaking although tinalakay naman dun kung bakit ganon yung attitude ni lalaki when it comes to s*x. im going to watch the movie also on Wednesday just because im curious kung sino ang gaganap na mrs. robinson. lol
Thats why its a fictional fantasy movie! Ang oo a! The story isnt done yet though so dont conclude its all about s!
Do you honestly think fifty shades is a good and insightful book? I have read the book/series but have not seen the movie. I have a friend who calls me manhid because I did not get kilig at all sa book. Sino ba any mag kakagusto sa lalaki who, although mayaman and showers one with expensive gifts, is controlling, jealous and gets off by hurting you. Sa totoong buhay, baka ana steele ended up pa as a batterred wife.
Binasa ko 1st book kase curious ako~ 2nd book kase sabi nila my kwento bakit nagkaganun si Christian Grey. 3rd book para lang masabi na natapos ko yung series. lol pero yeah it's all about s*x, no story at all. S*X S*X S*X!
nandun na tayo na its a fictional movie and all but it kinda gives people a wrong idea of what BDSM is all about. BDSM is confined to the bedroom or a place that both partners hace agreed upon. It does not include stalking or getting easily jealous to the point of the entire servient's life is controlled. Kaya why some people are saying that it glamorizes abuse. Parang gjnawang excuse yung BDSM for abusing, controlling and stalking Anastasia.
Haha shallow Pinoy movies ba kamo? So deep and intellectual na ba for you ang 50 shades? you have probably forgotten the fact that 50 shades started out as a fanfiction based on the Twilight series. so unless you consider Twilight as a very insightful and intellectually-stimulating book, 50 shades is just as shallow (if not, more shallow) as the Pinoy movies that you are mocking.
I read all three 12:54. Book 2 is when christian realizes he needs to get over getting off by hurting anastacia. Book 2 also explains he had an abusive childhood which made him the way he was. Book three is when it gets all rosy kunyari. He became less controlling, abusive and jealous and they lived happily ever after. But do you really think it is that easy?
Anu ba yan. Any other book is more read than the bible. Hard to say but a lot of it is either outdated or not easy to understand. 50 shades will br like another Da Vinci Code in your eyes depending how you see it. The Bible also contains abuse against women. But not as graphic and poorly written as 50 sog. Give the people a break!
o bakit, anons 12:31 and 1:26, hindi rin ba straightforward and honest si karen dito? isn't she also standing for what she believes in? the point is, wala kang maaaninag na arrogance sa mga replies ni karen.
I get what @12:19 is saying. There is just something about the way Lea delivers her "upfront" and "straight forward" thoughts that borders tactlessness, self-righteousness and the feeling of superiority and being overly know-it-all.. There are ways to tell the truth and stand up for what you believe without doing that.. Karen's replies to the backlash of that post are good example of that.. She has the right to be proud, talented that she is and for all the she had accomplished... but it's just the delivery... it's just not classy!
Pag narinig mo yan sa radio di mo sasabihing classy, me pagka know it all yan. Yes I do get her point, but it's still how you raise your kids.
Do you know the meaning of fiction, anon 3:14? Do you think what's written on the bible are just fiction? You don't believe there's truth behind the script?
It's nice to know that in this modern day & age, in which people are so open minded and liberated. There are still intellectual persons like karen that still believes & practices traditional beliefs and morality.

Karen davila has a point.
The thing is, bakit sya pwedeng manuod tapos yung iba hindi? She knew from the start what th movie was about but then she still went to see it. Parang may mali lang. #holierthanthou
12:53 excuse me..
Does that mean ma-l ako Ive read a lot of fictions from novel to mangas Bromance or the other At the end of the day, main point of the novel is.
The other person needs to understand the person they love, faults and all
Why compare a fiction to the bible Do you guys not trust your kids enough
Its just plain silly coz its like you did not teach your kids well to be not secured and be threatened by the book
And hindi naman "guide" o "self help book" ang 50 Shades,it's FICTION or KATHANG ISIP na story na sinulat to Entertain the readers. Read 50 Shades for what it is, an EROTIC novel.
And for a book marketing itself as an erotic novel, it's the least sexy and least erotic book I've ever read. It's literary trash. There are tons of other better written sexy books out there yet this piece of trash is the one making waves when it's hardly in the position to. Don't even get me started on Christian Grey because he's an abusive asshole who hides behind BDSM yet doesn't even value the fact that BDSM is done with consent. E halos pinilit niya si bida girl and she never gave consent. It's not love, romance, or even BDSM.
FSOG is a fiction, but still, it prompts sexual violence! Gosh! And please, there's a big difference between erotic novel and softcore porn. FSOG is the latter.
I think tama rin naman yung commenters. You don't compare the Bible to any other books, particularly Fifty shades of Grey. It's like comparing apples with oranges. And kids these days are very smart na naman with the advent of modern advancements.
I suggest reading the New Testament :) read about Jesus and maybe the Bible will turn out better for u. Jesus is the essence of the Bible anyways! God bless!
I doubt it is applicable na these days. Just my observation while reading it.
bible? disturbing? oh wow.. May God forgive you all people who doesn't believe the word of God. i pitty you fit not knowing the importance of bible in our daily life. tsk tsk tsk.
7.11 binasa nga nya ung bible eh. Ikaw ang di nagbabasa sus. The bible is a good book in the sense na marami syang kinukwentong iba iba from good to bad. Yes merong not good to women, marry your own cousin, revenge etc pero meron din forgiveness, patience and humility. Nasa nagbabasa na yun how they apply what they read to their own life.
Clearly the book and the movie suggests that lust is equal to love.
If you are an intelligent reader you would know the difference. FSOG is not a book for everybody. Simply put if you dont believe in it, you drop it down and read something else.
I'll like her more if she does not lean so much towards Julius' direction when they're reporting at night for Bandila. Ang awkward tingnan na most of the time during reporting e masyadong malapit mga siko nila sa isa't isa at si Ces ay nagmumukha tuloy malayo. Dapat equal ang distance between co-anchors lalo na pag tatlo.
12:33 AM. See.. See pati ako uma-Ana Steele? Pero nasa tama naman si Karen, I'm on her side, kasi walang parent naghahangad na ma lipbitten, ma latigo, talian o pa-tuluan ng kandila ang mahal mong daughter kahit si christian grey o bautista pa yan lol. Wag nga kayong literal sa photo na yan.. its only implying that bible is more kabuluhan than that trashy FSoG.
Its just a reminder I think karen is merely concerned.. People now a days gets easily irritated well I cant see anything wrong with her post..infact it should be a good warning to all the parents to pay attention to what their children are reading now a days...peiple sucks now a days they try to argue and misinterpret anyrhing
I believe adults can discern fiction from non-fiction and make their choices. In my case, forget about the Bible and morality -- I didn't watch it because it was a movie based on such a badly-written piece of fiction! It's very rare that a movie ends up better than the book it was based on. What more when the movie is based on a crappy book? Hahaha!
I support Karen's post. People may not understand it but she's totally right. I don't want my future kids having kids at 16/17 or maybe younger that. Part of their parenthood or how the parents guide their children is to know what influence them and I'm pretty sure books and movies are playing their roles very well. So yes! We can compare it and no you cannot say it's JUST a fictional book 'cause it makes you imagine things and moreso it make you do things outside the bounds of marriage. With that I suggest let's all be progressive thinkers. Protect our families!
This book is absurdity at its finest. Kids, I was once a Twilight Saga reader too and then you learn to outgrow it and realize you spent thousand on something that does not really help you learn anything and there was not much steamy scenes there but this 50 Shades book... God! Please!
And 50 Shades started out as a Twilight fanfic. Edward and Bella yung bida tapos sumikat yung fanfic for reasons I can never understand. Tapos ayan, someone wanted to publish it and the author just changed the names to Christian and Ana. Sus!
Karen showed grace when dealing with the harshest comments. the relative concept of "What may be wrong with you, may be right for me" was respected by the way she responded. not tit for tat. thanks, karen.
Ganun talaga, yung iba nagustuhan yung Iba, keyeme pa me kung anu ano pang pasakalye.
So hindi ba dapat maalarma?
Answer : Parental Control dear. Do you know how to use it? Meron niyan ang computer mo. Try mo.
Well BDSM is happening anywhere in the world, some novels depict human behavior and culture, nung nabasa ko ang fifty shades, nagulat ako na may ganun palang klase ng mga tao, depende na yun kung paano mo eevaluate, for me it's learning, and when you learn, you'll understand them. Grey suffered from mental illness because of a trauma during childhood, and at the end of the book, you will see his transition. Maganda para saakin yung book, not because of the weird sexual behaviour it portrays but the knowledge itself, and how you can help people with that kind of attitude.
Honestly, people only read the book and watched the movie because it was the hype in UK and US, two countries known for their liberal mindset. If it wasn't the case, would Pinoys even bother reading it?
nabasa ko all 3 books of the series and what bothers me most is how it was so badly written. sobrang redundant ng words. i do believe that those who praised 50 shades of grey (the book) never had picked up a book their entire life. yung mga nakikiuso lang. same old story with s*x scenes lang, poor girl & rich boy tapos sobrang inlove agad ng walang malalim na basehan. typical na magugustuhan nung mga taong mabababaw. parang twilight, well technically it started as a twilight fanfiction.
If people want something erotic but with class, try reading Gabrielle Garcia Marquez' books or Memoirs of a Geisha. Those are the kinds of books na kahit bastos kung tutuusin, sobrang classy ng pagkakasulat.
OMG! My thoughts exactly!! I mean, come on, ilang beses mo ba kelangan banggitin ang lines na INNER GODDESS and HOLY COW sa isang page. And yes, It was a raunchy version of Twilight.
May point naman si Karen eh. Kahit ako I will never let my kid watch just any movie unles they're old enough to decide for themselves. Didn't watch the movie or read the book. Not my kind of thing.
I tried reading the book pero d ko tinatapos, not because it's erotic, I just didn't like James' style of writing. To me, it's a raunchy version of Twilight. Hehe
Kaya nga, rated R yung movie di ba? Kids should not be watching it. If you are a parent and let your "kids" watch then there is something wrong with you.
Homophobic siguro si Karen Davila kasi she likes the bible.
Good thing your kids talk about their interests with you, but it's not the same scenario with other kids. Some are afraid to express their thoughts and share their feelings.
karen davila is one of the SMARTEST people in the philippine broadcast industry. i've worked with her sa dzmm. may laman talaga sha magsalita. matalino.
Eh dun nia nakukuha ung sarap eh.. To each its own ika nga.
above 18 can understand the film most likely, that's why it is rated 18. Karen was pointing out to know what you kids watch and read. What would you feel if you caught your 14 year old kid hiding in his/her room while watching an R-18 film? That's what we call proper guidance. Either watch that film with your kid and explain well, or not let them watch at all.
Sabi ng ibang commenters dito, don't watch/read 50 shades kasi badly written and there's no story. Frankly my dear readers, so is PORN. May porn na ba kayong napanood na may story? Iisa lang ang story ng porn. You meet, you greet, then wham bam thank you m'am. Kung may gagawa pala ng porn movie na may story, does that mean puwede na nating panoorin kasi "may story" na? Is the end of the world near?
Anon 3:35 I would like you to meet 2015. 2015, here is Anon 3:35. Yes, that's right! May internet na :) Sa internet, you just use this search engine called google and you can search any topic that you want. kung gusto mong matutunan kung paano mag luto ng brazo de mercedes, type mo lang "how to make braze de mercedes" at makakakita ka na ng maraming paraan kung paano sya lutuin. Oh the wonders of 2015. Sana maging close friend na kayo :)
Dear, if that porn movie has story, depth and artistry, then that is not porn! Ever heard of erotic art? Try watching The Quill by Kate Winslet and compare that to 50 shades of Grey.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Love is gentle. Love never takes. Love does not demand. Love waits for consent. Love doesn’t need helicopter rides and expensive gifts. Love is enough. I read the 3 books twice in less than a month and yes I kinda like it but I am not planning to watch the movie. Why? Why would I watch a naked or half naked man on the screen when I have a man at home who knows what true love is! Why would I get wet for a man that is not even my husband! Don’t be a hypocrite people, you get wet watching the movie, admit it!! Christian Grey is highly controlling. He is highly possessive of Ana. He is jealous. He has a temper. He is moody. He is unpredictable. Is this what most people (or women) think is true love -- and/or the perfect man? Does love equal control, jealousy and possessiveness? Well, not in my world. To me, real love is kind. It is freeing. It is gentle. It is pretty much the opposite of what Christian Grey does. Emotions like needing to control, possessiveness and jealousy are all rooted in fear -- NOT love. If you are jealous or possessive, you fear you will lose that person. But our culture teaches us that these emotions equal love. Christian Grey might be a multi-millionaire, and very good-looking, but I hope and pray that my daughter won't find a guy like him.
Very well said. It seems you are a mature woman and emotionally secure.
The harm in reading or watching 50 Shade of Grey are for those impressionable young people who might think what they read or see is right or just normal. Young people who have read the book or seen the film must be processed and guided so they are better informed and understand that this story is not about love.
Tried reading the first two chapters and it's crappy. The manner of writing is not even close to how college students in the PH write essays. That's why the target market is confusing. Adult plot, grade school words.
Fact...
I'm surprised that kids only read when its either controversial or with sappy content. I think parents should be more responsible with the stuff that their kids been reading. Kids lately don't have any clue on quality reading.
50 shades is an erotic film/book and the book was even dubbed as "mom's porn" and it's fictional. And I think from that you can base whether to watch/read or not the film/Book.
It took me a year to finally decide that I read the book. It's okay. It's poorly researched though unlike other fiction book that tackle controversial issues. However, I'm not a fan of the bible either.
Pampam naman yang si Karen. She also wants to be associated with the research. Pati pag hashtag kinareer nya. Feeling ko sumipsip kay Chiz. To think she's a news and public affairs personality. Buti pa so Tita Mel, behaved.
Hahaha ! Tao din naman ang nagsulat ng bible. And the bible consists of stories about slavery, concubinage, murder and lust for power and gold! Isip isip din ng malalim pag may time, space and energy!
Hahaha true! Tao din naman ang nagsulat ng bible. And the bible consists of stories about slavery, concubinage, murder and lust for power and gold! Isip isip din ng malalim pag may time, space and energy!
People keep saying it's just a book. Don't you know that what you let into your mind will eventually go through your heart? And the bible said out of the abundance of your heart, the mouth speaks. It will give the readers wrong notions about love. Kahit ano pa kuno reason ni Mr. Grey, it's not right to physically hurt someone. It's not love, it's lust
The movie is R18. Meaning those as young as 19 may watch. These young people may be misled into believing that perverse sexual acts are normal. What are these perverse sexual acts? These include bondage (tying, whipping, etc.) and sado-masochism (deriving pleasure by inflicting pain or feeling pain). The movie romanticizes these perversions in the guide of a love story. The movie is NOT a love story.
Would you like your daughter to be involved in this kind of relationship? Would you like your son to find pleasure and sexual gratification at the pain of his partner?
The story is fictional, yes. That is why they get away with it.
In real life, these things happen. Yes. True. But in real life, the ending is the man goes to jail while the woman is dead, tied on the bed.
May point naman sya. I remember reading Da Vinci Code when I was still in HS ata or College and it was very controversial back then. My mom knew I was about to read the book and alam nya din content non. And as devoted Catholics, ang nasabi nya lang was to make sure when I read the book I will not get confused as to what is real and what is not. Andun pa rin yung faith ko, kung ano talaga yung belief ko na kahit anong mabasa ko i should never question my faith. I mean Im not comparing DVC to 50 Shades lalong lalo na sa Holy Bible. What I'm saying is as parents siguro importante yung guidance talaga in whatever na ginagawa ng anak mo. Explain why you should or shouldnt do this etc.
I think the point of her post was never to ridicule the book or the movie but to make sure the people, especially the parents, are aware of it. And yes, binasa ko yung trilogy. Cringe-worthy levels hehe.
These people who keep bashing Fifty Shades for being immoral and telling people not to watch it because of that, you are just giving the movie more attention. I don't want to watch the movie pero dahil sa mga feeling all hugh and mighty at mga righteous na tao, parang gusto ko na panoorin at ipost ko pa yung ticket sa social media para maasar sila.
As a woman, I got offended upon reading the book. I was so disgusted by how little self respect the protagonist had for herself that I didnt bother finishing the book. And it's not about being makitid because I understand these things happen and stuff. It's just that I don't like how the book, in a way, promotes that this is okay and will eventually lead the person to change.
I've read FSOG, Darker and Freed. Anne Rice's "Sleeping Beauty" Trilogy is still better lol.
Di ko pa nabasa 50 shades na yan and I don't plan to either (prolly cos I really find BDSM quite disturbing).. I`d go for Anne Rice and her erotic novels any day though, kasi keri nya magsulat ng ganun without losing the artistic approach to writing.
Other than those, I stick to my trusty Grisham and Clancy paperbacks or Tolkien and a bit of Robert Jordan for fantasies lol
Have you read her novel "Belinda"? Wala lang, it's my favorite lol. I do find BDSM quite disturbing, too, but 'di ba nga to each his own? Mwahahaha. I also love Tropic of Cancer. Mediocre lang naman magsupat si E.L. James and the FSOG film is very fufu tame compared to "Secretary". I don't know what the fuss is all about.
The book discussed more about sadism and masochism. But we have to understand that sadism gives an impression of rape. there's a thin line between the two. Hence, explaining the difference to a child before they read it is important. By the way, I read both books, but never able to finish it. Because if you read the old testament there's a lot of incestuous relationships there.
Beyond all the controversy surrounding it regarding s** or s**ism or whatever, honestly, it's just a poorly written book and that should be enough to discourage people to read it.
Big deal masyado.
ReplyDeleteIt's called voicing an opinion.
Delete12:17am You didn't get the point of Karen's post. Say that again when u see your teenage daughter/son reading 50shades.

3rd book para lang masabi na natapos ko yung series. lol pero yeah it's all about s*x, no story at all. S*X S*X S*X!
DeleteAkala k ba nabasa mo book series ng fifty shades 5:34 am? I think u have to read it again2x ha.. Baka hangang book 2 k lang, hahahaha..
Deletenandun na tayo na its a fictional movie and all but it kinda gives people a wrong idea of what BDSM is all about.
DeleteHaha shallow Pinoy movies ba kamo? So deep and intellectual na ba for you ang 50 shades? you have probably forgotten the fact that 50 shades started out as a fanfiction based on the Twilight series. so unless you consider Twilight as a very insightful and intellectually-stimulating book, 50 shades is just as shallow (if not, more shallow) as the Pinoy movies that you are mocking.
DeleteI read all three 12:54.
Deletemay point naman si karen
ReplyDeleteFifty Shades is nothing in compare to what they can see on YouTube or the internet. Karen is another parent scapegoating.
DeleteAnu ba yan. Any other book is more read than the bible. Hard to say but a lot of it is either outdated or not easy to understand. 50 shades will br like another Da Vinci Code in your eyes depending how you see it.
DeleteThe Bible also contains abuse against women. But not as graphic and poorly written as 50 sog. Give the people a break!
Naloka ako sa "nothing in compare to" ni Anon 3:42 AM.
DeleteClassy replies from Karen. Yan dapat ang tinutularan ni Tita Leah.
ReplyDeleteBeing upfront and straight forward doesnt mean you're not classy. How many people have you met in yoir life?
DeleteTelling the truth and standing up for what you believe in is classy 12:19. That's all Lea is doing.
Deleteo bakit, anons 12:31 and 1:26, hindi rin ba straightforward and honest si karen dito? isn't she also standing for what she believes in? the point is, wala kang maaaninag na arrogance sa mga replies ni karen.
DeleteI get what @12:19 is saying.
DeleteTrue!
DeletePag narinig mo yan sa radio di mo sasabihing classy, me pagka know it all yan. Yes I do get her point, but it's still how you raise your kids.
Well both books are fiction.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Natawa ko dito.
Deletefiction your face!
DeleteAtheist alert ☝!
DeleteTama!
DeleteHaha! Natawa ko dito.
DeleteBoooooom!
DeleteNice one 12:20.
Delete12:49 not just an atheist but the devil himself!
DeleteI hope the Lord touches your heart 12:20
Deletewrong! it's a religious book and falls under non-fiction.
Delete3:14, any religious book is fiction.
DeleteDo you know the meaning of fiction, anon 3:14? Do you think what's written on the bible are just fiction? You don't believe there's truth behind the script?
Deleteany religious book is fiction, says 5:15 AM. LOL
Deletehala, di na matatapos to.
DeleteEvil!! Gosh!
DeleteSometimes... OA!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to know that in this modern day & age, in which people are so open minded and liberated. There are still intellectual persons like karen that still believes & practices traditional beliefs and morality.
ReplyDeleteActually, believing in something just because it's traditional does not equate to being intellectual or moral.
DeleteIt's nice to know that in this modern day & age, in which people are so open minded and liberated. There are still intellectual persons like karen that still believes & practices traditional beliefs and morality.
ReplyDeleteKaren davila has a point.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is, bakit sya pwedeng manuod tapos yung iba hindi? She knew from the start what th movie was about but then she still went to see it. Parang may mali lang. #holierthanthou
Delete12:53 excuse me..
Already watched porns of different kinds not just bondage submissive masochist even beastiality
Does that mean ma-l ako
Ive read a lot of fictions from novel to mangas
Bromance or the other
At the end of the day, main point of the novel is.
The other person needs to understand the person they love, faults and all
Why compare a fiction to the bible
Do you guys not trust your kids enough
Its just plain silly coz its like you did not teach your kids well to be not secured and be threatened by the book
Lol
it is just a movie wag masyadong seryosohin
And hindi naman "guide" o "self help book" ang 50 Shades,it's FICTION or KATHANG ISIP na story na sinulat to Entertain the readers. Read 50 Shades for what it is, an EROTIC novel.
ReplyDeleteAnd for a book marketing itself as an erotic novel, it's the least sexy and least erotic book I've ever read.
DeleteI prefer Jackie Collins' novels.. Loved the Santangelo's. Yes, I find Fifty Shades a trash.
Deleteagree @12:53 AM and @4:00 AM, naging hype lang siya.
DeleteFSOG is a fiction, but still, it prompts sexual violence! Gosh! And please, there's a big difference between erotic novel and softcore porn. FSOG is the latter.
DeleteI think tama rin naman yung commenters. You don't compare the Bible to any other books, particularly Fifty shades of Grey. It's like comparing apples with oranges. And kids these days are very smart na naman with the advent of modern advancements.
ReplyDeleteAnyare teh sa kabataang pinoy? Smart?
DeleteI haven't read 50 Shades of Grey, but I've read the Bible and I'm not sure I want children reading it either. The Bible is not kind to women.
ReplyDeleteLol. You do have a point there.
DeleteLol, but you do have a point there.
DeleteThe Bible is quite a disturbing book indeed.
Deleteso tell me more, how is 50 shades is kind to women?!
DeleteAt least sa 50 Shades, consensual. Sa Bible, literal ownership and slavery.
DeleteI suggest reading the New Testament :) read about Jesus and maybe the Bible will turn out better for u. Jesus is the essence of the Bible anyways! God bless!
DeleteShout out to the cherry picker at 2:42! :)
Delete- Moses
I doubt it is applicable na these days. Just my observation while reading it.
Deletebible? disturbing? oh wow.. May God forgive you all people who doesn't believe the word of God. i pitty you fit not knowing the importance of bible in our daily life. tsk tsk tsk.
DeletePareho silang overrated fiction.
ReplyDeletetama ka dyan
DeleteIf you are an intelligent reader you would know the difference. FSOG is not a book for everybody. Simply put if you dont believe in it, you drop it down and read something else.
DeleteI'll like her more if she does not lean so much towards Julius' direction when they're reporting at night for Bandila. Ang awkward tingnan na most of the time during reporting e masyadong malapit mga siko nila sa isa't isa at si Ces ay nagmumukha tuloy malayo. Dapat equal ang distance between co-anchors lalo na pag tatlo.
ReplyDeleteTulog na mike enriquez.
Deletehanep talagang napansin mo p yun proximity nila?! ikaw na!
Deleteok so is your comment supposed to be a scoop ot something? Gumagawa lang ng intriga?
Delete12:33 AM. See.. See pati ako uma-Ana Steele? Pero nasa tama naman si Karen, I'm on her side, kasi walang parent naghahangad na ma lipbitten, ma latigo, talian o pa-tuluan ng kandila ang mahal mong daughter kahit si christian grey o bautista pa yan lol. Wag nga kayong literal sa photo na yan.. its only implying that bible is more kabuluhan than that trashy FSoG.
DeleteIts just a reminder I think karen is merely concerned.. People now a days gets easily irritated well I cant see anything wrong with her post..infact it should be a good warning to all the parents to pay attention to what their children are reading now a days...peiple sucks now a days they try to argue and misinterpret anyrhing
ReplyDeleteyep, don't find anything wrong with her post either...
DeleteI believe adults can discern fiction from non-fiction and make their choices. In my case, forget about the Bible and morality -- I didn't watch it because it was a movie based on such a badly-written piece of fiction! It's very rare that a movie ends up better than the book it was based on. What more when the movie is based on a crappy book? Hahaha!
ReplyDeletei like how karen answers back to them.
ReplyDeleteKorek!!!!
Deletemalaking check!
DeleteOA ni manang. Just mind your own floppy news shows. Fifty Shades is not for your generation. LOL
ReplyDeleteglinda lahat ng posts OA, puro hatred. Buti pa c ekat may sense
So talunan ka sa mapapait mong posts about KaH, Alejandra? LOL
DeleteRespect each other's opinion. We are all different and we all have different takes on everything.
ReplyDeleteI support Karen's post.
ReplyDeleteRemove the word progressive from your statement. Naligaw ata sya.
DeleteOa mo Davila! If i know after mo mapanuod ung movie eh nagpa anek ka sa asawa mo!
Lol
DeleteKayo gusto niyo Anak niyo babae basahin ang fifty shades of grey?:)
This book is absurdity at its finest. Kids, I was once a Twilight Saga reader too and then you learn to outgrow it and realize you spent thousand on something that does not really help you learn anything and there was not much steamy scenes there but this 50 Shades book... God! Please!
ReplyDeleteAnd 50 Shades started out as a Twilight fanfic. Edward and Bella yung bida tapos sumikat yung fanfic for reasons I can never understand. Tapos ayan, someone wanted to publish it and the author just changed the names to Christian and Ana. Sus!
DeleteKaren showed grace when dealing with the harshest comments.
ReplyDeletethe relative concept of "What may be wrong with you, may be right for me" was respected by the way she responded. not tit for tat.
thanks, karen.
Ganun talaga, yung iba nagustuhan yung Iba, keyeme pa me kung anu ano pang pasakalye.
So hindi ba dapat maalarma?
DeleteAnswer : Parental Control dear. Do you know how to use it? Meron niyan ang computer mo. Try mo.
Why compare the Holy Scripture to a bad erotica?
ReplyDeleteAs far as Karen reacted, it was with class & professionalism.
ReplyDeleteWell BDSM is happening anywhere in the world, some novels depict human behavior and culture, nung nabasa ko ang fifty shades, nagulat ako na may ganun palang klase ng mga tao, depende na yun kung paano mo eevaluate, for me it's learning, and when you learn, you'll understand them. Grey suffered from mental illness because of a trauma during childhood, and at the end of the book, you will see his transition. Maganda para saakin yung book, not because of the weird sexual behaviour it portrays but the knowledge itself, and how you can help people with that kind of attitude.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, people only read the book and watched the movie because it was the hype in UK and US, two countries known for their liberal mindset. If it wasn't the case, would Pinoys even bother reading it?
ReplyDeleteHonestly, you think this way?
Deletenabasa ko all 3 books of the series and what bothers me most is how it was so badly written. sobrang redundant ng words. i do believe that those who praised 50 shades of grey (the book) never had picked up a book their entire life. yung mga nakikiuso lang. same old story with s*x scenes lang, poor girl & rich boy tapos sobrang inlove agad ng walang malalim na basehan. typical na magugustuhan nung mga taong mabababaw. parang twilight, well technically it started as a twilight fanfiction.
ReplyDeleteIf people want something erotic but with class, try reading Gabrielle Garcia Marquez' books or Memoirs of a Geisha. Those are the kinds of books na kahit bastos kung tutuusin, sobrang classy ng pagkakasulat.
DeleteKorek!
DeleteOMG! My thoughts exactly!! I mean, come on, ilang beses mo ba kelangan banggitin ang lines na INNER GODDESS and HOLY COW sa isang page. And yes, It was a raunchy version of Twilight.
DeleteTrue! The plot is so shallow.
DeleteMay point naman si Karen eh. Kahit ako I will never let my kid watch just any movie unles they're old enough to decide for themselves. Didn't watch the movie or read the book. Not my kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteI tried reading the book pero d ko tinatapos, not because it's erotic, I just didn't like James' style of writing. To me, it's a raunchy version of Twilight. Hehe
DeleteKaya nga, rated R yung movie di ba? Kids should not be watching it. If you are a parent and let your "kids" watch then there is something wrong with you.
DeleteIbig sabihin, wag nyo basahin kc bad!!!! Read the Bible instead. Itong book na to, will pollute ur innocent minds! It is Porno!!!
ReplyDeleteOk. Pero FICTION NAMAN TALAGA ANG BOTH BOOKS! Just saying.
ReplyDeleteYup! and Playboy is also a fictional magazine ;)
DeleteHomophobic siguro si Karen Davila kasi she likes the bible.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading the Harry Potter series, I took a kitchen knife and etched a lightning bolt on my forehead. Life imitates art, people!
ReplyDeletelol! love this
Deletehahaha apir!!
DeleteYou must be 10...
Deletekaren question is very easy to answer... what do you prefer to read for your children? 50shades of gray or Bible. I choose the second one.
ReplyDeleteI allow my teens to read all the books they are interested in. I let them think for themselves to know if à book is okay or not and we talk about it.
ReplyDeleteGood thing your kids talk about their interests with you, but it's not the same scenario with other kids. Some are afraid to express their thoughts and share their feelings.
Deletekaren davila is one of the SMARTEST people in the philippine broadcast industry. i've worked with her sa dzmm. may laman talaga sha magsalita. matalino.
So does this mean she is now the opposite of what you said kasi may sarili siyang opinion?
Eh dun nia nakukuha ung sarap eh.. To each its own ika nga.
ReplyDeleteabove 18 can understand the film most likely, that's why it is rated 18. Karen was pointing out to know what you kids watch and read. What would you feel if you caught your 14 year old kid hiding in his/her room while watching an R-18 film? That's what we call proper guidance. Either watch that film with your kid and explain well, or not let them watch at all.
DeleteSabi ng ibang commenters dito, don't watch/read 50 shades kasi badly written and there's no story.
ReplyDeleteYou don't show PORN in theaters, dear.
DeleteAnon 3:35 I would like you to meet 2015. 2015, here is Anon 3:35.
Deleteahahaha you made me laugh anon 5:20
Dahil kang sa 50 shades e end of the world na!
DeleteDear, if that porn movie has story, depth and artistry, then that is not porn! Ever heard of erotic art? Try watching The Quill by Kate Winslet and compare that to 50 shades of Grey.
You didn't get 5:20's humor (plus a bit sarcasm) sa comment niya.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
DeleteLove is gentle.
ReplyDeleteVery well said. It seems you are a mature woman and emotionally secure.
DeleteThe harm in reading or watching 50 Shade of Grey are for those impressionable young people who might think what they read or see is right or just normal. Young people who have read the book or seen the film must be processed and guided so they are better informed and understand that this story is not about love.
Both are fiction. The other one is a life guide the other is just a book for adults.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read that fifty shade of whatever na yan and I don't plan on reading it. It's just a waste of money and time as well.
ReplyDeleteTried reading the first two chapters and it's crappy. The manner of writing is not even close to how college students in the PH write essays. That's why the target market is confusing. Adult plot, grade school words.
DeleteSo don't bother leaving a comment instead. You already wasting your time.
Fact...
ReplyDelete50 shades is for mature and broad-minded people. So don't watch if you are not.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that kids only read when its either controversial or with sappy content. I think parents should be more responsible with the stuff that their kids been reading. Kids lately don't have any clue on quality reading.
ReplyDelete50 shades is an erotic film/book and the book was even dubbed as "mom's porn" and it's fictional. And I think from that you can base whether to watch/read or not the film/Book.
ReplyDeletePeople who read twilight are as dumb as the people who read 50 shades of grey. And i know quality reads because i am a professor of literature.
ReplyDeleteIt took me a year to finally decide that I read the book. It's okay. It's poorly researched though unlike other fiction book that tackle controversial issues. However, I'm not a fan of the bible either.
ReplyDeleteI've read 50 shades but I don't plan to watch the movie. Gone Girl is still my favorite, to date.
ReplyDeletePampam naman yang si Karen. She also wants to be associated with the research. Pati pag hashtag kinareer nya. Feeling ko sumipsip kay Chiz. To think she's a news and public affairs personality. Buti pa so Tita Mel, behaved.
ReplyDeleteGone were those days were erotic stories are written artistically with so much pleasure and depth. :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha ! Tao din naman ang nagsulat ng bible. And the bible consists of stories about slavery, concubinage, murder and lust for power and gold! Isip isip din ng malalim pag may time, space and energy!
ReplyDeleteHahaha true! Tao din naman ang nagsulat ng bible. And the bible consists of stories about slavery, concubinage, murder and lust for power and gold! Isip isip din ng malalim pag may time, space and energy!
ReplyDeletePeople keep saying it's just a book.
ReplyDeleteThe movie is R18.
ReplyDeleteWould you like your daughter to be involved in this kind of relationship? Would you like your son to find pleasure and sexual gratification at the pain of his partner?
The story is fictional, yes. That is why they get away with it.
In real life, these things happen. Yes. True. But in real life, the ending is the man goes to jail while the woman is dead, tied on the bed.
IMO, the author is not obliging you to read or even watch the movie. WTH
ReplyDeleteMay point naman sya.
ReplyDeleteI think the point of her post was never to ridicule the book or the movie but to make sure the people, especially the parents, are aware of it. And yes, binasa ko yung trilogy. Cringe-worthy levels hehe.
These people who keep bashing Fifty Shades for being immoral and telling people not to watch it because of that, you are just giving the movie more attention.
ReplyDeleteI've read FSOG, Darker and Freed.
DeleteOther than those, I stick to my trusty Grisham and Clancy paperbacks or Tolkien and a bit of Robert Jordan for fantasies lol
DeleteYou have great taste in books, cheers. xx

talagang UPBRING?
ReplyDeletei told you karen, wag ipagsabay inumin ang tang at milo.
ReplyDeleteThe book discussed more about sadism and masochism. But we have to understand that sadism gives an impression of rape. there's a thin line between the two. Hence, explaining the difference to a child before they read it is important. By the way, I read both books, but never able to finish it. Because if you read the old testament there's a lot of incestuous relationships there.
ReplyDeleteI won't even recommend a child to read it in the first place... nope!
DeleteWhy anyone would read 50 Shades, a poorly written book, is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteTrue! I didn't even bother finishing it. Got bored.. Sorry.
DeleteYes for.someone who.loves.to read ha
DeleteI eead somewhere.parang twilight Ang.bet ng author, sabi ko oh no
Dont bother reading.it
Mas maraming maganda kaysa dyan hehe
i agree 4:35. if people are after the sex, there are so many other well written books. James' writing is so pedestrian almost comical
ReplyDeleteBeyond all the controversy surrounding it regarding s** or s**ism or whatever, honestly, it's just a poorly written book and that should be enough to discourage people to read it.
ReplyDeleteDugo dugo ilong ko sa mga comments. Puro naka english...hehehe
ReplyDeletebased on plot and quality of writing, it should be called Fifty Shades of Cr@p.
ReplyDeleteparang Twitrash lang din lang ang level.
Simple lng yan.. anong mas gusto mong makitang binabasa ng anak mo? 50shades o bible? Yung ibang nagcocomment, mga wla p sigurong anak. Ano kayang mararamdaman mo bilang isang magulang na makita ang anak mo n nagbabasa nyan, knowing the content.. d k b mabobother? concern lng sya s anak nya.
