Correct, hindi si Mirriam kundi si Charlene Gonzales ang nanalo ng Best in Nat'l. Costume noong '94 miss u na dito ginawa sa pinas. Nainterview pa noon ng TV Patrol si Sushmita Sen after the pre-pageant complaining na hometown decision yung choice, eventually, siya pala ang mananalong miss u. Bit of trivia lang.
Well, hopefully, MSA would listen to these alta ladies now. Better yet, please, sponsor haute couture gowns and costumes for the representatives sent abroad to compete? Unless MSA is really a hag, she should not be able to refuse offers from you.
And it's about time that a true blooded Filipino should head the Binibining Pilipinas Org. Look what happened when the Miss World Franchise was taken over by Ms. Cory Quirino. It only took her two or 3 years and we had our very first Miss World under her helm. Binibining Pilipinas wasn't so successful in bringing that most elusive crown when it was under their organization.
Stella Marquez Araneta is a Colombian national herself, same as the one who designed Mj's costume. She should just step down as Bb. Pilipinas organizer bec as long as she's there this will happen God knows until when.. Poor Philippines !!
Stella Marquez is not just a mere Colombian national. She is currently an Ambassador (Charges d Affaires) of Colombia to the Philippines! Well, i could see a lot of implications.
Bea Zobel concurs with many disappointed Filipinos. Perhaps, she can pull some strings and use some of that influence to replace not only Barazza but also Stella Marquez Araneta. A high society battle - wouldn't I love to see that!

The current generations of Zobel-Ayalas are Filipino already despite having Spanish roots. They are every bit as Filipino as the rest of us despite being rich and more inclined to speak Spanish or English.
The Zobel-Ayalas, in fact, have done more for this country - economically, culturally, and environmentally - than so many other rich families, including the Sys, Gokongweis, or even Pangilinan.

Eh kasi nga hindi daw type ni stella ang mga pinoy designers or yun mga designs nila kaya mas prefer niya yun kalahi niya. Pati national costume kalahi ni stella ang gumawa kaya nagmukhang "WTF!" ang dating.

Tutal at sumama na rin sa usapan ang ilang member ng alta de sociedad mas mabuti siguro ay kung they do real action than just mere words. Until si Mrs Araneta ang may-ari ng franchise ng Ms Universe, siya pa rin ang masusunod. Kaya ang real challenge kina Madam Zobel at Aboitiz-Alculi ay bilhin ang franchise ng Miss Universe para mawala na rin ng tuluyan si Mrs Araneta. Sana hindi puro satsat lang at tutal barya-barya lang naman sa inyo ang gagastusin.
