Not Getting Her Way

Did Socialite Model (SM) try to pull the rug from under Lively Actress (LA) in a big product event? The story is that SM tried to convince the marketing team of a major event that she should be the one to shout out the tag line of the event. The tag line is quite catchy and the celebrity who gets to say it first will definitely gain much coverage. For SM, the task could make her closer to the event goers as well as to the public who definitely watch the coverage. In short, SM can gain more popularity and add luster to her name.

While SM possesses a familiar face in modeling, print ads, and commercials, she still is still not as popular. She has yet to make a name in showbiz or get an acting break. Some actually even accuse her of trying hard to be among the elite, which is, in fact, a misnomer. The lineage of SM comes from the upper crest of society, but one of her relatives risked crossing the line from the elite side to the masses. This relative paved the way for SM’s generation to penetrate the media and showbiz. Unlike another relative, SM has nary a connection with the market of the event unlike LA.

Despite the feelers, the marketing team was not persuaded, and thwarted the plans of SM. Hence, LA will still be the one who gets to shout out the tagline. The marketing team justified their decision to stick to LA by saying that the crowd is not the market of SM. Hence, the crowd would be more comfortable with LA. Incidentally, LA used to be projected as classy, but her being down to earth in her spontaneous words and unguarded actions have belied that image. Now, LA is quite comfortable with her change of image and is quite natural in her reaching out to the masses. Another reason that the marketing team stuck to LA is that the tagline has already been translated to Filipino.
