The fact that Balesin's management has been entertaining their requests since May only proves that the planned wedding is a go even if there's no downpayment made or any signed contract to formalize the agreement between parties. In the first place, whoever is in-charge of the venue should have secured the approval of Mr. Onpin immediately after the couple requested to book the date. What took so long? Grabe baman. From May - September Ongpin just sat on the request? The way the owners of Balesin handle this issue says so much about their character.

Have you been to Balesin? Hindi kawalan si kawalan sina tyke at ceska dun sa club na yun. Their list of clientele is impressive. I dont think this issue would be a problem to them at all dahil karamihan ng mga nakikitsismis lang dito would not be able to afford membership. I beg to differ. I would choose integrity over publicity. Dapat business is business. Bakit kailangan nag preferential treatment? Ito ang sakit ng pinoy. We should not tolerate padrino and palakasan in business, politics, law, etc.
How come no one is calling foul on the incomplete statements of Cesca and Tyke? Dapat nung naglabas sha ng statement sa A&A na-mention about the refusal of downpayment. If they haven't acceptes your downpayment yet because it hasn't been approved, why oh why, would you go through the lengths of preparing and flying your wedding crew there if you don't have anything in black and white yet? Has a payment been made? No. Has a contract been signed? No. If the owner's approval is a condition sine qua non, there's nothing you can do but wait for that approval. Remember, there is no contract unless there is an acceptance. Clearly Balesin has not accepted.

After looking at various angles, I've concluded na bulok ang management ng Balesin. May nag-offer ng downpayment for business on the 14Feb, ayaw tanggapin. You gotta ask why. Tapos personal confirmation agad dun sa isa. I appreciate na owner siya and was his prerogative to do so, but are these the kind of people you want to deal with and part with your hard earned money for? I think not.
it's shady too that reservations being subject to ongpin's approval hadn't been what ongpin tried to paint in his statement, no? supposedly he checked with his staff to verify if feb 14 is available and had them block it off (of course, it's free. for months, he's hedged on approving that date for cesca and tyke). he says in the statement too that they could accommodate more than one wedding on the same date when the other couple was told differently, may air traffic issue daw. seems balesin has a kind of arbitrary policy, iba sinasabi sa clientele na members na, iba yung damage control pr ngayon ng owner nung pumutok na tong issue. kind of a red flag to potential members, and any current member who hopes to hold an event there. bully for you if you know ongpin. otherwise, brace for curveballs!
It's apparent na Balesin was waiting for a better offer and obviously exposure, knowing that Feb14 is a red-letter day for big events esp for ones with deep pockets. I have one word for Balesin - GREED!

Ang explaination ni Ongpin ininvite nya si Chiz & Heart because wala naman daw nag pareserve. Eh papaano walang reservation kasi hindi nya inaprobahan ang request ng Tyke & Cesca na May pa pala nirequest. Second, bakit meron ng occular nangyari, food tasting, table arrangement etc eh pending for apporval pa? Third, wedding preparations are tedious. Noon pa man dapat binalikan na nila yung couple to inform them denied ang status. So bakit months before ipapaalam kung approve o hindi?

Very interesting! Simple lang naman yan, if you havent paid the downpayment yet then there is no certainty na the place is yours regardless if you are a member or not. Most importantly do not proceed with the rest of the wedding plans.

Formality na lang yung contract na paulit ulit na sinasabi ng mga commenters dito, minsan nga during the day itself pa nagkakapirmahan dyan sa Balesin. Obvious na nagkapreferential treatment instead na equal treatment, di ba malinaw yon?

DeleteHas a payment been made? No. Has a contract been signed? No. If the owner's approval is a condition sine qua non, there's nothing you can do but wait for that approval. Remember, there is no contract unless there is an acceptance. Clearly Balesin has not accepted.

DeleteThe issue here isn't the downpayment anymore. Pareho silang walang downpayment jusme. Nasa palakasan ito. The problem all boils down to the management and owner of the Balesin. Sana kasi, kung hindi pa pala approved ang booking, hindi kayo nag-go sa kanilang food tasting, ocular visit, etc. Edi sana hindi nag-rage ang kampo nina tyke and cesca. For Chiz-Heart, paki basang maigi guys. CHIZ-HEART WAS TRYING TO HIRE THE SAME PERSON WHO IS ALREADY COMMITTED TO Tyke-Cesca SO THEY WERE INFORMED on the wedding date and venue. Ang tanong, bakit pa nila ni-pursue? Power-tripping?

I appreciate na owner siya and was his prerogative to do so, but are these the kind of people you want to deal with and part with your hard earned money for? I think not.
it's shady too that reservations being subject to ongpin's approval hadn't been what ongpin tried to paint in his statement, no? supposedly he checked with his staff to verify if feb 14 is available and had them block it off (of course, it's free. for months, he's hedged on approving that date for cesca and tyke). he says in the statement too that they could accommodate more than one wedding on the same date when the other couple was told differently, may air traffic issue daw. seems balesin has a kind of arbitrary policy, iba sinasabi sa clientele na members na, iba yung damage control pr ngayon ng owner nung pumutok na tong issue. kind of a red flag to potential members, and any current member who hopes to hold an event there. bully for you if you know ongpin. otherwise, brace for curveballs!

Ang explaination ni Ongpin ininvite nya si Chiz & Heart because wala naman daw nag pareserve. Eh papaano walang reservation kasi hindi nya inaprobahan ang request ng Tyke & Cesca na May pa pala nirequest. Second, bakit meron ng occular nangyari, food tasting, table arrangement etc eh pending for apporval pa? Third, wedding preparations are tedious. Noon pa man dapat binalikan na nila yung couple to inform them denied ang status. So bakit months before ipapaalam kung approve o hindi?
