This type of chair has originally or traditionally been like that. Kung hindi pa gagawain ng may pangalan na designer classy people or those who want to be classy will not even think of having it in their home. However, rattan, buri and bamboo hand crafted chairs are proudly "sitting" in expats houses in their covered lanai or patios.
It's called a peacock chair, it's been around since the 70's. I don't from where originally. I saw this in Athropologie for $999. It reminded me of the chair growing up in the Philippines but I have no idea if it's from Pinas.
Reina Chair is made of rattan while the Buri chair is made of...well....buri... i don't think originality is an issue unless parehong pareho in almost all, if not all, aspects. kung ipagpipilitang nagkopyahan, baka magreklamo mga nagdesign ng horseshoe, thrones, etc nyan. o di kaya naman ang mga pabo.
Inspiration. Same form and materials. Different styles and take on a typical tropical chair. Both pretty. But I like the Reigna Chair better just because it's name is more interesting and adds personality to the chair's style.
naku naman bata pa ako, 1977 ako pinanganak ganyan na upuan..lalo na sa mga fiesta coronation night ng lahat ng Ms. Brgy, Ms. Gay, money contest ganyan na ang upuan
I loved both the chair. I think bamboo made chairs and other home used furniture made in bamboo are also very much reliable. Bamboo materials are very compatible and also very attractive in looks. I have used bamboo made wrist watch and that was also amazing.
De kalesa naglalako ng same upuan did it better
ReplyDeleteBata pa ako, ganyan na mga chairs na binebenta sa probinsya namin... No one can claim originality
ReplyDeletes tingin ko prang prehas lng ng idea ung gmwa s chair. Simple lng nman kc ung pattern (horse shoe)

ReplyDeleteI think it's just an inspiration. Saw the buri chair in person at an expo, it's so mesmerizing i even took a photo of it.
