It was a cry for help. She obviously can't handle her illness by herself. It's unfair to accuse her family and friends of not doing anything to steer her away from harming herself. Pero I wonder how much support have they done to help her out. Was she on medication for bipolarism and was she seeing a psychiatrist on a regular basis?
Prayers can change your life. Sana nagabayan sya ng family nya at ng di humantong sa suicide. Given she has BIpolar disorder but w constant prayer she'll be healed
Prayers alone won't get someone healed. Ok lang magdasal pero this statement is ridiculous: "Given she has BIpolar disorder but w constant prayer she'll be healed." Helena needed psychological help more than just prayers.
we dont know anything about her family and her support system. It is unfair to blame it on them. We could just pray for her soul. Even if she was admitted or confined and plans to do it, she will find means...message here is Mental illness needs to be given thecssmecimportance with other medical illness.
This is why these signs should not be ignored. People often take this as a joke. People will tell you "ang babaw mo!" I have a mental illness myself. I've had this since 2010. Worst thing about it, it doesn't go away. One day you're okay, one day you just feel like ending your life. Sometimes with a very mababaw reason, sometimes with no reason at all. Professional help isn't enough. Family and closest friends play a big role here. Mentally ill patients need patience and understanding. Tough love is not for us. Don't tell us "sige, pakamatay ka!" Gagawin talaga namin yon. Every single day is a struggle to survive and fight off the chemical imbalance in my brain. The only good thing that comes out of this is my stronger faith in God.
I hope you are getting the support and help you need Anon 1:51. Don't lose hope and even in your darkest hour know that you are a person of value and your life is worth living.
First time to comment on FP (and I'm a constant reader btw my stress reliever after my work here in Japan. thank you) I am a nurse and worked before in a mental health facility in Davao and I am not judging her nor her family but just want to state an opinion over this issue.
I think coming from a buena familia makes the stigma of this disorder too tough to handle. Rich people can sometimes be vain over statuses in society. They know she was diagnosed and I'm sure her family seek help to professionals, and maybe that's it. Let the psychologists and the medicines treat her. Might trusted and dependent on them too much. When in fact, the strongest motivation to keep life going for someone like her is really the actual support group of her life. In this case, her family and friends. I am not to judge but I find it disturbing about the comment of her godmother in the recent interview. It was said in full information but I felt it lacks empathy in someways. It's too informational and even stated that the girl cannot accept it on her own. Then there I realized that the girl might be really lacking people who really truly reaches her out. RIP. This makes me sad and I don't know her. Condolences to the family and friends who know and love her.
anon 9:49, ive handled psych patients before, once patient verbalizes things like this, especially if she had been diagnosed with bipolar do or any mental disorder before, they should have taken this as a "red flag" sign that she's goin' into depression. i guess that's just how it really is, a lot of people from the upper class lack emotions or lets just say, they are not to show emotions in public, they have to.
Omg. Ano ba. Kawawa sya.
