Beauty is really a priority in their country. Girls of 17 or 18 of age already undergone a nose job just to look perfect. If the point of this "POST" is about having a nose job as a secret, then its more than that. Its Venezuela's culture for over decades. As Osmel said "I say that inner beauty does not exist. That's something that un-pretty women invented, to justify themselves."
No wondee super ganda mga taga venezuela... Puro pala salamat doc...
i saw it sa youtube na, search mo lang. nakakabilib yung mga docu ni Billie. interesting facts about other countries, you'll think na grabe na sa Pilipinas but after watching yung about sa Argentina and Venezuela ma aappreciate mo lalo ang bansa natin.
It's quite long but I actually watch the whole thing. Pagkakagastusan talaga kahit poor! Mukha na tuloy tranny iyung iba!
I think pageant obsession is venezolanos way to escape their problems. Uso ang patayan sa venezuela as you watched naman. Well kudos to bbc well delivered ang docu. Simple and straight to the point unlike dito satin daming etse buretse
Sbi na nga ba retokada sila eh. In Brazil nga dw it's normal lang na magpanose job. Grabe! Tama nga yung sbi nung mom nung isang contestant. Is it a contest of the best surgeon or most beautiful girl?
I think the Philippines may eventually get to this point...the culture here (which is of course very similar to these Latin American countries due to colonization...) does not really value individuality and uniqueness when it comes to beauty, look at our celebrities pa lang and how people praise them..."wow mukhang doll" or "mukhang barbie", and many of them have had something done na, kahit minor lang. Eh our current Miss International pa lang eh, her retoke is very obvious, she now looks like all the other women in that BBC piece.
Beautifully crafted docu. Billy the journo is young yet she asks the most logical and intelligent questions. Our journos should learn from her. The editing is superb as it allows the answers in Spanish even if we know Billy speaks it just "un poco". I need to have this shown in school.
So touching! Feel sorry for them.
sad reality.

DeleteNagagandahan talaga akez ni Migbelis ( Miss Venezuela)! I hope she wins Miss Universe this year! I don't mind another back to back from Venezuela.
ReplyDeletethis docu vid was shot last year, before the miss u pageant
DeleteMiss Venezuela competes after a year they're crowned. That's why they perform well. They have more than a year of training.
DeleteJust like Pinas. Poor, poverty, crime, murders, corruption and useless beauty pageants.
ReplyDeletesad and scary.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite long but I actually watch the whole thing. Pagkakagastusan talaga kahit poor! Mukha na tuloy tranny iyung iba!
ReplyDeleteVery moving peace! At least i would say that pageants are more fun in the Philippines.
