Anon 1:03. Porke't Kathniel, jeje na? It's like saying a movie with say Cherie Gil in it would be classy.
Wala. MMFF movies are the epitomes of ka-cheapan, third world mediocrity. Pwede pa siguro yung ibang indie movies but no-no sa MMFF entries. Yes, ayaw kong manood and I strongly encourage you jeje and baduy ones to watch classic Hollywood films so that you'd get some culture. :)
Ah, so fan ka siguro nina Cary Grant, James Dean, Marlon Brando, Humphrey Bogart etc.
To 1210 am Jfyi pretentious classic hollywood films fanatic. You just adapted the culture of the western region but then you act like sh*t. It doesnt define you as a high profile person even youre watching so called hollywood classic youre referring to.
May trashy Hollywood films din. Pero di natipon sa isang "film festival." Imagine all the Razzie nominees in one film event. Yan na ang peg ng MMFF ngayon. Hahaha!
@ 12:10 You are a disgrace with that stupid mentality of yours, calling our own movies "cheap". You even dared adding "third-world" into your comment ! Sorry hun but reality is a b****. You can't run from the fact that you are living in a "third-world" country. Even if you are a socialite, you are still living in a "third-world" country. I personally think that all of the movies have a potential and it is a great way to support Filipino movies. So before commenting make sure that you've watched ALL of the movies listed there. Merry Christmas and GOD Bless your soul.
We're talking about classy Oscars levels dito, people! Educate yourself and watch the likes of Lincoln or The Iron Lady rather than mediocre Pinoy movies.
Anon 1:30. Genuine cinephiles know that the Oscars is not to be taken seriously. It is a popularity contest, and it also involves politics. However, I don't exactly disagree with your opinion on the MMFF. Most of the participating movies might be considered trash, but the variety of the selection also proves that Philippine cinema is alive and healthy. Now if you want to be educated on films, read more on film criticism. You also have to watch a broad spectrum of movies, including trash. And stop placing too much trust on the Oscars. After all, it's the same award-giving body which gave Titanic a whopping 11 awards.
Anon 1:30 and Anon 12:10. Na watch ko na ang Lincoln and The Iron Lady. So what now? A Separation, Amour, Beast of the Southern Wild, Kon Tiki, Waltz with Bashir?
Pagoag is the term people use to refer to those left over foods na tinapon na, irerecycle pa para kainin. Nakakamatay yan teh! Ingat!

Elitista ka? Nanonood ka ng movies sa Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, Venice, Sundance? Kung hindi naman, baka cinephile ka. Siguro you like Bela Tarr's films. If neither, ay 'day, wag na magkunwari. Poser ka lang.
I'd watch My Little Bossings, then Pedro Calungsod, then Kimmy Dora, para roller coster ang emotions ko.
We don't need to go Hollywood. Take Ekstra and OTJ as quality movies that did not get much support from the movie enthusiasts, yes? Perfect examples that they support movies which take us backwards rather than move us forward. Again, just sayin'.
Maybe u could state your comment politely po? Like in a suggestion manner unlike stating it like u did.."Very third world" come on dude,Ph is a third world country, and unless you're a perfect citizen of this country then u don't have the right to grumble against the government cause THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS PERFECT GOVERNMENT. If u don't want to watch any of the movies listed then say it politely without saying anything offensive. Godbless!
Lav Diaz's films are also considered Third World Cinema. His Norte, The End of History is included in the top films of the year list of many respected international film critics. So there goes your "very third world" comment.
The nadir that Philippine Cinema has sunk into. There was actually a time when MMFF brought out the best that Pinoys could make, just like in any self-respecting film festival. Now it only brings out the worst. Pachakahan na ang laban. LOL
So, wala, nganga! Sa CCP every year may Cinemalaya. Nanonood ba kayo? Just asking...
You're probably acting out because hindi mo pa naaachieve ang creative/artistic goals mo. Puro ka na lang soap opera.
Can I just say, ampanget ng poster ng Boy Golden. Hahaha!
Boy golden at kaleidoscope world ... bago mga artista, kapag bago dapat sinusubaybayan muna bago pagsalitaan ng kung ano ano ... lets give them a chance to prove theirselves
My little Bossings then 10,000 hours, Pagpag...maybe Kimmy Dora....try ko lang kung mahahabol ko yung BGBT ni Vice. I love Pilipino movies! Mabuhay ang pilikulang Pilipino!
All entries seem promising, sana naman they at least entertain, impart a lesson as well. We've had a tough year, we Filipinos deserve to sit back, relax and enjoy our truly own films.
Sa totoo lang gusto natin tumawa sa dami ng problema sa bansa natin kaya I go for girl boy bakla tomboy. Jeje man sa inakala ng iba pero aminjn natin IN ang mga jokes ni giddy kahit gasgas na sa showtime iyong iba. But I would also love to give chance sa first movie nk aling maliit ryzza and bimby
I'd watch MLB. The best so far for me na movie ni vice is yung This Guy's in love with u mare, may sense..unlike nung iba nyang movies. And it's nicer to watch a really good movie, hindi lang dahil sa artista. Yes vice is really good, but his movies not so. And I don't like his kayabangan lately..sana lang maopen na eyes, mind at heart nya..
10,000 hours, Kaleidoscope World and Golden look like it has higher production value. Then since it's Christmas, St Pedro Calungsod and the childstars in Bossings. Pwede na rin Kimmy kasi I've wathced the first two. Sorry VG.

Saka baka Pagpag.
I'd rather spend it on well-made movies, mapa-Pinoy man o foreign.
I'll watch an MMFF bec i want to support our own movie industry. I know they're not as good ad hollywood films... I'd watch Kaleidoscope world, kimmy dora and pedro calungsod
I noticed that most local films are low-budgeted. Producers are always after the income of the movie without exerting effort to give audiences a share of NEW and INTERESTING stories. Why do they keep doing that? Because we, as audience, still patronize their crap. We should take watching movies to a higher level and dont just be stagnant to what producers and writers can offer.
Kalma ka lang, ita x-mas! Their purpose is to entertain, make people laugh, inspired.
No.1 ang MLB followed by GBBT at Pagpag as of tonight. Pero di na ako magtataka if no 1 ang movie no vic sotto kasi lagi na syang ganyan kahit iyong enteng kabisote nya.
I find it funny how some readers automatically assume that those people who'll watch mmff movies are poor and jeje. Before you say such things, make sure that you live in a gated subdivision, preferably MIVA.
