@12:34. It's not being nega.
Anon 12:20 and Anon 12:56 Pride in the achievement of a countryman and thirst for recognition is not limited to Filipinos. It is one of the most normal human traits. That is why prestigious award giving bodies/organization do recognize and give honor to achievements in so many fields and one of these is the Nobel Price. Saang planeta ba kayo galing? An honor is an honor is an honor. It's never cheap. Now, your feeling above us because most of us feel mighty proud for this achievement is the cheapest comment here.
Well said Anon 1:44! It's beyond belief why some find it irksome that we are proud of the achievements of fellow Filipinos. In fact, other countries are more nationalistic, with some citizens of their respective countries taught that they are the perfect, or the highest race, etc. What would they say to those, that they are above anything else no matter what, even without accomplishments to show? Sheesh!
1:44 The Nobel "Prize" is an award worthy of being overly emphasized over and over again, winning in a singing contest or in a beauty pageant is not. It smacks of shallowness and ka-cheapan. People who gloat those petty "achievements" are cheaper than cheap.
Anon 1:44. May point ka rin naman. Kaso, ang daming Pinoy na OA na sa Pinoy Pride, to the point that they no longer recognize or accept the fact that some nationalities are better at certain fields. Dapat medyo grounded pa rin tayo. Nakakainis kasing pumunta sa Youtube at makakita ng comments like "Proud to be Pinoy. Filipinos are the best singers in the world," "Do you know Lea Salonga? She's Filipino, like me." Those are just so cringe-worthy. It speaks volumes of how hungry we are for recognition. If we have some self-respect, ipapakita ba natin na gutom na gutom tayo? Para kasi tayong pulubi begging for alms. Kumbaga e "Pansinin niyo ako, please." A lack of self respect is a lack of PRIDE.
Dominated by Pinoys! Congratulations! We're from the land of disasters with equally calamitous politicians, but we Pinoys are also the most beautiful and most talented!
Anon 1:53, I'm an expat for some years now, and I am happy with the achievements and trust given to Pinoys, living there in Pinas or here in abroad. Just as I am proud of the well-documented feats of Pinoys and Pinays lately and even before, I am equally admiring how some Kabayans managed well on their own with only a few knowing the stories of their success. If you find my comment jeje and troublesome that I am nationalistic and patriotic, my apologies. I see nothing wrong though to put in high regard this race just as I am deeply embarrassed with the humiliating missteps and character of some.
1:53 Bothered I'm patriotic and you find it jeje that I'm proud of my fellow Pinoys' achievements? You should be happy for good news exulting the Filipino race's capabilities and talents. It took them time, tears, sweat, and brains to be where they are. Oh, but perhaps you're somebody who prefer petty cat fights, being bitter, and unappreciative?
We should also know when to claim someone as our very own. Hindi yung maski 1/4 Pinoy lang e nagcocomment pa rin tayo ng Proud to be. Let's have some self-respect.
Anon 12:12.
Masyado na nating pinapangalandakan yan, at masyado na rin tayong bilib na bilib sa sarili natin to the point of being delusional, and to the point that we're shutting out other nationalities. Hindi rin naman maganda yun.
Its sad that a worldclass talent like her didnt had the fame she deserves, kubg sino pa yung mga pang videoke at umaasa sa auto tune ang boses eh sila pa sumisikat, kelangan tutukan ang art appreciation ng mga pinoy kaso sobrang baba na...yun na! Paaaak!
And take note sa and... Ginawang hype! Parang nanood ka lang ng play. Irrelevant these days
Famous, award-winning musicals ARE of big importance. Parang tinanong mo lang ano ag importance ng la miserables, wicked, rent, cats, etc. They are musicals, and Miss Saigon is successful.
Woah!Miss Saigon not relevant for u??Mejo nkka-shock naman ang reaction mo?Miss Lea was known worldwide, recognized by VIPs in the West End & Broadway bcoz of her role as Kim in Miss Saigon!Me,i was wishing Sarah G. auditioned.i really think she could've gotten the role as Kim.Me thinks lang,ha.
She's got the face, and the voice too. Thing is, she's too old for Kim. Gigi maybe, but I don't think her mother would agree for her to play that role of aging bar girl. Nor would she be allowed by her parents to live and travel on her own abroad as she's not a minor anymore.
Now we know why she's Gigi. She can portray bitterness and angst quite effectively through acting and singing
ReplyDeleteMagaling naman talaga si Rachelle Ann Go. -- SG
DeleteHumanda na sa deluge ng #PinoyFried posts. Gosh, ka-cheapan ever!
ReplyDeleteWag naman sana. Nakakahiya na yang Proud to be Pinoy comments sa social media.
DeleteHumanda sa mga nega like this. Lol. We need good news!!! Thanks to our world class Pinoy talents.
DeleteAnon 12:20 AM, hindi nakaka-cheap ang maging proud. Mas nakaka-cheap ang pagiging nega. FYI.
Delete12:30 But Pinoys are "uhaw" for recognition naman talaga. KSP grabe!
