You're right. She should have worn a gown that will showcase the form and shape of her body (just like Megan Young, who chose her own gown that will showcase her hard earned bodyshape). No matter how graceful you carry your gown if the gown doesnt fits you well, then its nothing. It is evident by her score in the evening gown competition. I think what contributed to the winning of Ms. Megan Young in the Miss World competition was her evening gown. She was stunning and gorgeous in that Francis Libiran creation all throughout the competition. I dunno why Madame Stella Marquez de Araneta choose a Colombian designer when there are plenty of rising Filipino designers who could create gowns better than Alfredo Barrazza. What a shame and pity to the Filipino ingenuity!

Too simple, Ara deserves a better gown than this. Madam Auring este Madame Estella is just using Ara to showcase her frustration (talent kuno) in designing clothes. Ang daming magagaling na pinoy designers, ang ganda pa naman ni Ara. Pang commercial pa ng cream silk ang buhok :D

Comparing her scores in the Swimsuit and Evening Gown, one can tell that her gown was a great pull down to her total score. She should have worn a gown that will showcase her hard earned body shape. The color doesnt matter, its just the cut and style of the gown that could have catch the attention of the judges.
That side bun needs to go!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't really into the gown, but when I saw pictures of her during the rehearsal with her hair down, I did like the effect. Tapos during the competition itself, bakit ginanun yung hair nya? And we need new handlers sa BPCI.

marami namang inspired imitator designer sa pinas, kung nagbabasa lang ng fp si madam araneta, makakakuha siya ng idea sino patatahiin nia ng gown. eh yun pinasuot niya, mabibili ang style na yan sa baclaran ng murang mura. at kung very insistent talaga siya sa yellow gown, humiram na lang sana siya kay kris aquino at pinasikipan niya. mas maganda pa ang yellow gowns ni kristeta!
I say gown is not that flattering but the way Ara carried it makes it elegant.I was really rooting for gold this time but the yellow color choice seems ok for me, it makes her tan complexion shine and truly made her unique in her own way. Its just that the fabric looks stiff that make the gown look cheap. The gown has no "finese factor". Long black hairstyle looks a lot better you can never go wrong with that, no need of accessory - just her long black hair will make her overall presence regal onstage.
Buti pa si miss canada, si francis libiran ang gumawa ng gown. Si miss philippines, colombian designer na naman. Madam stella araneta, paki-explain. labyu!

I don't know but I find the gown very beautiful for Ara. Her morena skin stood out with that yellow gown. Mas lumabas ang gandang Filipina sa sinuot nya. Just as long as she's comfortable wearing it then there's no reason to lose hope. Ariella is doing a great job people so stop being so bitter. :)

Dislike the gown. While it is ugly it did put Ariella Arida notches higher. Lumutang ang poise nya and confidence. The color suits her. This is what we would like for the judges to notice and take note of, the inner beauty, the confidence, feeling maganda kahit chaka and pina-suot. Dahil dito stand out sya among the others.
i think the gown accentuates her beauty... naguumapaw ang kanyang pagka morena at ganda sa gown. tama lang na di gaanong grandyoso... as long as it flaunts her beauty.
The color shows off her skin color well. Pero pangit yung design. Mas maganda para sa akin pag nakalugay kaysa yung updo na parang sobrang sikip ng pagkakatali, di komportable tingnan. Kumbaga mas relaxed ang look pag nakalugay. Tsaka pwede bang i-match yung kulay ng foundation sa balat? Yung tipong kahit flash photography eh walang white cast? Kadiri kasi yung floating face.
I don't like the gown. Not flattering. Reminder, Miss Universe is not all about the question and answer portion. Dapat pinoy gumagawa ng gown para sa lahat ng delegates natin. Like yung kay Megan. Panalo talaga yun. Pinoy lang ang mas nakakaalam pano bihisan ng mahusay ang pinoy. Yun ang ikinabuti ng pagbukod ng Ms. World PH sa Binibini. Maganda talaga kapag nakikipag usap ang designer sa magsusuot. :) dami nating malulupit na designer na for sure very willing to help. Buti na lang talaga maganda si Ara. Ok lang sana yung gown mula sa taas, kaso yung bandang baba sobrang plain. Parang mantel sa mesa. Tapos kitang kita pa yung folds. Hehehe.

I know Riza Santos is a Filipina but she represents Canada which is by the way my second home so obviously, I have nothing against her wearing a Filipino creation pero sana ang Philippines din makinabang sa gawang ng Pinoy! DeleteDislike the gown. While it is ugly it did put Ariella Arida notches higher. Lumutang ang poise nya and confidence. The color suits her. This is what we would like for the judges to notice and take note of, the inner beauty, the confidence, feeling maganda kahit chaka and pina-suot. Dahil dito stand out sya among the others.

ReplyDeleteThe color shows off her skin color well. Pero pangit yung design. Mas maganda para sa akin pag nakalugay kaysa yung updo na parang sobrang sikip ng pagkakatali, di komportable tingnan. Kumbaga mas relaxed ang look pag nakalugay. Tsaka pwede bang i-match yung kulay ng foundation sa balat? Yung tipong kahit flash photography eh walang white cast? Kadiri kasi yung floating face.

It's how you present yourself and of course, kasama na dun ung ganda ng gown. magaling ka nga magpresent at rumampa eh pano na kung panget ung gown mo? DI talaga maganda... bkit nyo ba pinagpipilitan na ok sya... hehehe
ReplyDeleteDapat pinoy gumagawa ng gown para sa lahat ng delegates natin. Like yung kay Megan. Panalo talaga yun. Pinoy lang ang mas nakakaalam pano bihisan ng mahusay ang pinoy. Yun ang ikinabuti ng pagbukod ng Ms. World PH sa Binibini. Maganda talaga kapag nakikipag usap ang designer sa magsusuot. :) dami nating malulupit na designer na for sure very willing to help. Buti na lang talaga maganda si Ara. Ok lang sana yung gown mula sa taas, kaso yung bandang baba sobrang plain. Parang mantel sa mesa. Tapos kitang kita pa yung folds. Hehehe.
