  8. Somebody who was there that time from Lufthansa confirmed that some people from the Customs did try to tax them. Embarrassing with the timings, yes, but in Philippines, donations are actually taxed.

    1. Donations all over the world are taxed, even in the US. It's called "donor's tax". That's one way to curb money laundering.

      Delete
    2. Not in some countries that don't collect taxes. Agree too that donor's tax help discourage money laundering. Many are understandably outraged, but then it's because donor's tax is not commonly known in the country. However, in my view, there are times that some laws have to be relaxed - the Yolanda tragedy for instance, when goods must be dispersed the soonest time possible.

  9. Pero what benefit would the nagsumbong get from all of these?

btw. are the germans fond of greeting good pm or do you think a person of a higher rank especially someone from germany wouldn't bother to put on proper capitalizations , spellings, and abbreviations in an sms message?

    kaduda duda lang.

    1. Yes hindi kapani-paniwala yung exchange of text messages. Parang tayong mga Pinoys lang ang nag-aabreviate halos sa text kasi sila they still spell the words completely and correctly.

      Delete
    2. My gosh, really? It is a text message, not a formal memo. And I'm sure Mr. Schenk did not think the text exchange would be published anyway.

    3. paniwalaan mo ang gusto mong paniwalaan. ewan ang dami lumalabas sa social media na hndi naman totoo. mka pang bash or put down lng ng tao.

  10. And i am not sure but the germans are not fond of sending regards even to their business partners.

let the Paul Schenk speak for himself in media.

  11. So anong ibig sabihin nung report sa inquirer na BIR will impose tax on international donations if not coursed through govt? Di ba eto related?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  13. Mas bilib ako dun sa nag expose nto kasi she was there when that happened and by the time na dumating ang german envoy e no clear orders pa from the BIR and the customs official. so I conclude na the exposed news was true.

    1. Yung nagpost nito ay wala mismo sa scene, na-receive lang daw nya ang info via text from a friend. Then she posted it right away.

    2. You believe some anonymous sender to what the Lufthansa manager said (Paul Schenk)? That is just stupidity. Social media nowadays are full inaccurate information. Some are sent deliberately to destroy their enemies.

  14. I think it actually does some good when people posts things like that when they feel it is wrong. It can help deter some wrongdoing. It just highlights the mistrust we have in government officials and workers.

  19. From the current crop of government officials, it has been Mr. Biazon who has consistently been responding to queries - whether on social media or wherever - and he has been trying to amend the ways of the people he supervisors. He cannot watch over each and very single Customs employee 24-7 and you all know how ingrained greed has been in Customs. Mr. Biazon is doing his best to clean-up Customs. Give the guy a break...

    1. True!

May araw din kayo.

    ReplyDelete
