DD's mom only has nice words to say to her. That says a lot about what kind of a person she is. Who's words do you choose to believe, those trying hard starlets who used her to get attention or those who have known her for a long time and have learned who the person she really is. There are different kinds of intelligence by the way but you wouldn't know that because you equate intelligence with only being book smart. I believe Marian is smart because she wouldn't have finished college if she wasn't. But beyond that she has other qualities that a lot of smart people lack - she's independent, loving, true-to-herself, forgiving, just to name a few. And she knows how to handle a relationship. Look at her contemporaries who have already broken up with their significant other - Angel and Phil, Angelica and Derek, Jennilyn and Louis, etc. She must be doing something right for her and DD to last that long.
