He was never a household name like Piolo before. With his character and image, I dont think he will ever be as sikat as Piolo (before).

Sa totoo lang kasi madaming naturn off kay Gerald and Maja. I was never a fan of Kim Chui..I never watched any of her teleserye or movie. Pero nakuha nya sympathy ko when Maja betrayed her. Sigurado marami ring mas nakaintindi kay Kim kesa Maja. I also doubt Gerald's Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin will do well..malakas epekto ng pagiging nega ni Gerald & Maja. Sayang mga ibang cast na kahit magagaling, hindi nila mahatak viewers para manood dahil nega yung lead actor.

Even though the story is well-written and executed and direk matti did an amazing job, it won't do good in the box-office because pinoys go for the rom-com, feel-good movies.
I don't think this is the reason why otj didn't do well. It has something to do with gerald being part of it, as babaw as that may sound. Kahit siguro rom-com to and gerald's in it, hindi pa din siguro kikita

If it was only a Piolo Pascual movie I would have watched it. However, because Gerald is on it, it's a total turn off. I hope Star Cinema would realize Gerald does not have the same appeal or the same number of legion of fans as he once had. I feel sorry for Piolo that he got dragged down on this movie. I hope Star Cinema will have another movie for him soon without Gerald. But, I'll still wish them luck in their movie.

Watch the movie not for the actors but for the movie itself. I heard na maganda daw talaga sya. And if you are into watching movies because of the actors, then watch it for Joel Torre, because he is really a very good actor.
Kasalanan ng SC yan, panay kasi mediocre movie ang pino produce kaya ayan, yung dapat panoorin ng mga tao ayaw nila kasi hindi yung mga walang kamatayang slapstick comedy, rom-com, drama ng mga kabitenya ang tema.

without bias, the movie is really timely.... it somewhat reflects real scenarios happening within the government and its leaders. I'm not a fan of any of the actors in the film, but I think, as a Filipino, sana, panoorin natin ang movie na to...sana makialam tayo...kung sa mga BI nga napakapakialamera natin(:D), sana, we will indulge ourselves more sa mga issues concerning our very own country...let us continue to be vigilant... #IMO

OTJ IS A FLOP because: 1. Most Filipinos are shallow but loyal to specific local stars. 2. Also, there is so much corruption and crime in the news - they can watch that for free. 3. Formula romcom films work because it gives people an hour or two to escape the sad realities of life. If Hollywood do a remake of this, it'll do better either as a cult Indie film or a commercial film in N.American and British markets. Most Filipinos won't be able to handle it.

ReplyDeleteIf it was only a Piolo Pascual movie I would have watched it. However, because Gerald is on it, it's a total turn off. I hope Star Cinema would realize Gerald does not have the same appeal or the same number of legion of fans as he once had. I feel sorry for Piolo that he got dragged down on this movie. I hope Star Cinema will have another movie for him soon without Gerald. But, I'll still wish them luck in their movie.

im reading tweets on it and by the looks of it, it seems good. but there are hardly any tweets regarding gerald and his acting. lol im sure the movie was worth watching because of Joel Torre and Joey Marquez's acting parts ... plus the director and writers. the rest.... i dont know.

I'm not a fan of any of the actors in the film, but I think, as a Filipino, sana, panoorin natin ang movie na to...sana makialam tayo...kung sa mga BI nga napakapakialamera natin(:D), sana, we will indulge ourselves more sa mga issues concerning our very own country...let us continue to be vigilant...

OTJ IS A FLOP because:

2. Also, there is so much corruption and crime in the news - they can watch that for free.
3. Formula romcom films work because it gives people an hour or two to escape the sad realities of life.
If Hollywood do a remake of this, it'll do better either as a cult Indie film or a commercial film in N.American and British markets. Most Filipinos won't be able to handle it.
