Primetime Queen means yung higlhly rated show more than anything else. So far, si Marian yun. Ilang shows na ginawa ni Carla, but mediocre lang ratings, until MHL. This actually a lithmus test for her when she makes a teleserye next time.
May breeding pa si carla, i mean halata. Hindi ko makita yung kay marian eh. Plus carla graduated with honors pa, although hindi naman talaga necessity sa field nya, pero added bonus pa din.

Marian has proven her worth since Marimar. Carla had her channce nung Rosalinda but it was not a hit like Marimar. I think the only reason why there is a big fuss about Carla is because of MHL but stand-alone parang di pa nya kaya. With that being said, I think Marian is still 7's queen.

If gma wants 2 elevate their teleseryes, they shud give their stars quality roles at indi ung tipong sa isang artista lng nkafocus ang lhat ng mgagandang roles. Katulad ng abs na alam nman natin maraming choices. Kpag me mga mgagandang roles, it cud b anybody's game hence very competitive ang atmosphere.

I think it all depends on the right time and the right project. I like both, although I think Marian had the initial advantage because she had the all out support and publicity machine of GMA when she started (remember, the station was still smarting from the Angel Locsin brouhaha then), and it was bent on making Marian the next big star of GMA. Marian and Carla are both good actresses but from what I see, Carla's acting style has more depth, nuance and texture. If GMA can strategically execute their vision for Carla's career and maintain the momentum that they have created for her via MHL, I think they have another prized talent to create many more wonderful television moments with.
i concur. Carla is the better actress than marian who is still (sad to say) a ham. But I give Marian credit for her immense charisma to the public and her perfect face. Both of them are beautiful, but Carla has more class and dare I say it, intelligence? This distinction is very evident kapag nagsalita na sila. Pero like what someone said, they could peacefully co-exist within GMA. Marian will surely fall by the wayside if she goes to ABS where the stars are bigger and brighter. it would behoove her to stay at GMA where she can 'reign'.
Right now marian still holds the crown. Lumipat sana sya ng network para lumevel up ang career nilang pareho. At least aalis syang reyna...para naman mabigyan si carla ng chance na mapatunayang deserving sya to be her successor.

GMA declared Marian Rivera as the Primetime Queen! So dapat walang argument! Carla can have her own title soon. But admit it, MHL is being talked about not because of her but because of TomDen. Although she's delivering her character very well. May potential but for now aminin nyo man o hinde, still Marian is the Primetime Queen! Would you still watch MHL kung wala na TomDen at si carla na lang matira? I doubt it!

Nagkaron na ng hit shows top billed by Marian while Carla is just starting to get noticed now. Popularity-wise, Marian > Carla. BUT. Remember what they say, "Pana-panahon lang 'yan". Many people are saying that MHL is Carla's best performance in her career and if directors and producers will start noticing this I'm sure she'd be given follow up projects even outside her network. And if her handlers are wise enough to give her projects that will highlight her capabilities as an actress (a good one, as many say so), then I guess we can say na nagsisimula na ang panahon ni Carla. She's not as charismatic and as "masa" as Marian Rivera so she needs the right packaging as well. So, looking at the big picture now. Carla is definitely very visible now not just for having a daily soap but notice how much screen time she gets during commercial breaks. I think that's one step up for Carla to be getting endorsements and TVCs whereas I haven't seen one from Marian for quite some time now.

Si Marian naman talaga yung Primetime Queen, kaya lang, parang hanggang dun lang cya. She had lots of TV shows, pero parang hindi pa talaga nya naipapakita kung gaano cya talaga kagaling bilang artista. Sana bigyan cya ng role na parang si KC Concepcion as Alexis. Yung ibang character naman para mapakita niya kung gaano cya ka-flexible as an actress. Si Carla naman, ngayon ko lang talaga cya napansin as an actress kasi bagay talaga sa kanya yung role nya sa MHL, at ang galing pa naman ng show.
Gusto ko pareho, pero kung lilipat si Marian, Carla has the biggest potential to be the queen. Wag nating kalimutan, bago na-launch si Marian as Marimar, matagal tagal din syang naghintay for that big break, nagkaron sya ng ilang afternoon soaps with Oyo Boy nun tapos nag mother role pa nga sya Super Twins nun as mudra ni Jennylyn & Nadine.

In fairness to Marian, she has proven her chops naman ang for a long while, she has been delivering for GMA....ratings, etc...Carla's is only showing now and it's not totally her doing - dennis and tom and the serye itself are the key elements why people are now noticing her as well...Marian was the main character in Marimar, Dyesebel, etc. and so all credits can be attributed to her...in future however, Carla may catch up too....but the question is who IS primetime queen....for me still Marian for now...

Sa ngayon, it's still Marian. Malakas talaga hatak ni Yan sa masa at mga manonood e. Pero Carla is very promising in MHL. She can surpass Marian if given the right projects kase when it comes to acting, Carla has no limitations as long as it is needed in the story. She allows herself to immerse in the character unlike Marian who has many conditions....mag-asawa na lang sha kung ganyan din lang.
Kailangan maka-relate ang masa para maging reyna. Yung mga artistang baduy at di magaling mag-english ang mas napapalapit sa masa. Pero yung mga sosyal, ingglisera at classy ang dating ang hindi gaano kalaki ang fan base.
Acting wise, it's Carla. Publicity and fan base, it's Marian. Nonetheless, they both should hone more their acting skill para hindi lang sila sikat and bankable but para naman maging award winning din.
Parehong di deserving sa title na QUEEN. I know we are talking about GMA only pero wala talaga... Pale in comparison sa mga reynang nagawa NG ABS. Dapat binibili sila kasi, maraming endorsements at nakaka-100million plus lahat NG pelikula.
Well after ang MHL next year pa ulit gagawa ng teleserye si Carla. Dahil nasa kontrata niya 'yun sa GMA pero who knows? Baka mabigyan ulit siya dahil naging hit ang MHL. And to be honest, Marian is one of the biggest celebrities in the Philippines and there's no doubt about that. Hindi naging flop ang film niya, it's just maling film production lang ang binagsakan niya. Kung gagawa siya ng film sa Star Cinema, of course it will be a big hit. So as of now, na kay Marian pa rin ang korona. But who knows? Malay natin mabigyan ng better at mas magagandang projects si Carla. And ang lamang niya kasi kay Marian mas may breeding siya at mas talented. :-)
Carla Abellana is the epitome of class. Her acting is nothing short of superb, and she has truly proven herself in "My Husband's Lover". Her award-winning performance in "Shake, Rattle and Roll" was nonetheless laudable, albeit underrated. Just because she has beauty and brains, it doesn't mean that she won't be as bankable as the Queen of the Masses, Marian Rivera. Carla has broken boundaries by winning the admiration of all- masses, middle class and even some of the upper class who rarely watch teleseryes. Marian is undeniably beautiful, but that is all. Carla is a game changer.
Maka'extra naman tu wagas! aber sino gusto mong gaganap na perfect sa pag arte sa role ni Lally? Lally is as important as vincent and Eric in the series teh!
too early to tell if carla can be called a primetime queen. mhl pa lang ang hit niya at hindi pa niya make-claim na siya ang solong nagdadala nito. taob ang rosalinda at ang mhl naman ay may tomden na obviously ang siyang humihila sa viewers. this is not to say though that carla can't make it. it's just too early to tell. huwag niyong pag-awayin ang dalawa. there's more than enough room for both of them on primetime.
Marian still reigns as GMA's Primetime Queen. All of her teleseryes have been hits except for My Beloved. 4 of her movies have surpassed the 100M mark. I love these two ladies. They are very graceful and passionate in what they do, but Marian still is the Primetime Queen.

ReplyDeleteMarian has proven her worth since Marimar. Carla had her channce nung Rosalinda but it was not a hit like Marimar. I think the only reason why there is a big fuss about Carla is because of MHL but stand-alone parang di pa nya kaya. With that being said, I think Marian is still 7's queen.

If gma wants 2 elevate their teleseryes, they shud give their stars quality roles at indi ung tipong sa isang artista lng nkafocus ang lhat ng mgagandang roles. Katulad ng abs na alam nman natin maraming choices. Kpag me mga mgagandang roles, it cud b anybody's game hence very competitive ang atmosphere.

ReplyDeleteI think it all depends on the right time and the right project. I like both, although I think Marian had the initial advantage because she had the all out support and publicity machine of GMA when she started (remember, the station was still smarting from the Angel Locsin brouhaha then), and it was bent on making Marian the next big star of GMA. Marian and Carla are both good actresses but from what I see, Carla's acting style has more depth, nuance and texture. If GMA can strategically execute their vision for Carla's career and maintain the momentum that they have created for her via MHL, I think they have another prized talent to create many more wonderful television moments with.

i concur. Carla is the better actress than marian who is still (sad to say) a ham. But I give Marian credit for her immense charisma to the public and her perfect face. Both of them are beautiful, but Carla has more class and dare I say it, intelligence? This distinction is very evident kapag nagsalita na sila. Pero like what someone said, they could peacefully co-exist within GMA. Marian will surely fall by the wayside if she goes to ABS where the stars are bigger and brighter. it would behoove her to stay at GMA where she can 'reign'.

May potential but for now aminin nyo man o hinde, still Marian is the Primetime Queen! Would you still watch MHL kung wala na TomDen at si carla na lang matira? I doubt it!

ReplyDeleteNagkaron na ng hit shows top billed by Marian while Carla is just starting to get noticed now. Popularity-wise, Marian > Carla. BUT. Remember what they say, "Pana-panahon lang 'yan". Many people are saying that MHL is Carla's best performance in her career and if directors and producers will start noticing this I'm sure she'd be given follow up projects even outside her network. And if her handlers are wise enough to give her projects that will highlight her capabilities as an actress (a good one, as many say so), then I guess we can say na nagsisimula na ang panahon ni Carla. She's not as charismatic and as "masa" as Marian Rivera so she needs the right packaging as well. So, looking at the big picture now. Carla is definitely very visible now not just for having a daily soap but notice how much screen time she gets during commercial breaks. I think that's one step up for Carla to be getting endorsements and TVCs whereas I haven't seen one from Marian for quite some time now.

DeleteSi Marian naman talaga yung Primetime Queen, kaya lang, parang hanggang dun lang cya. She had lots of TV shows, pero parang hindi pa talaga nya naipapakita kung gaano cya talaga kagaling bilang artista. Sana bigyan cya ng role na parang si KC Concepcion as Alexis. Yung ibang character naman para mapakita niya kung gaano cya ka-flexible as an actress. Si Carla naman, ngayon ko lang talaga cya napansin as an actress kasi bagay talaga sa kanya yung role nya sa MHL, at ang galing pa naman ng show.

ReplyDeleteIn fairness to Marian, she has proven her chops naman ang for a long while, she has been delivering for GMA....ratings, etc...Carla's is only showing now and it's not totally her doing - dennis and tom and the serye itself are the key elements why people are now noticing her as well...Marian was the main character in Marimar, Dyesebel, etc. and so all credits can be attributed to her...in future however, Carla may catch up too....but the question is who IS primetime queen....for me still Marian for now...

ReplyDeleteSa ngayon, it's still Marian. Malakas talaga hatak ni Yan sa masa at mga manonood e. Pero Carla is very promising in MHL. She can surpass Marian if given the right projects kase when it comes to acting, Carla has no limitations as long as it is needed in the story. She allows herself to immerse in the character unlike Marian who has many conditions....mag-asawa na lang sha kung ganyan din lang.

ReplyDeleteWell after ang MHL next year pa ulit gagawa ng teleserye si Carla. Dahil nasa kontrata niya 'yun sa GMA pero who knows? Baka mabigyan ulit siya dahil naging hit ang MHL. And to be honest, Marian is one of the biggest celebrities in the Philippines and there's no doubt about that. Hindi naging flop ang film niya, it's just maling film production lang ang binagsakan niya. Kung gagawa siya ng film sa Star Cinema, of course it will be a big hit. So as of now, na kay Marian pa rin ang korona. But who knows? Malay natin mabigyan ng better at mas magagandang projects si Carla. And ang lamang niya kasi kay Marian mas may breeding siya at mas talented. :-)

Her award-winning performance in "Shake, Rattle and Roll" was nonetheless laudable, albeit underrated. Just because she has beauty and brains, it doesn't mean that she won't be as bankable as the Queen of the Masses, Marian Rivera. Carla has broken boundaries by winning the admiration of all- masses, middle class and even some of the upper class who rarely watch teleseryes. Marian is undeniably beautiful, but that is all. Carla is a game changer.

ReplyDeletetoo early to tell if carla can be called a primetime queen. mhl pa lang ang hit niya at hindi pa niya make-claim na siya ang solong nagdadala nito. taob ang rosalinda at ang mhl naman ay may tomden na obviously ang siyang humihila sa viewers. this is not to say though that carla can't make it. it's just too early to tell. huwag niyong pag-awayin ang dalawa. there's more than enough room for both of them on primetime.
ReplyDeleteMarian still reigns as GMA's Primetime Queen. All of her teleseryes have been hits except for My Beloved. 4 of her movies have surpassed the 100M mark. I love these two ladies. They are very graceful and passionate in what they do, but Marian still is the Primetime Queen.
