Marian’s contract with GMA will expire in September this year, and from all indications, there’s likelihood that a renewal is not forthcoming. There are talks going around that a major shift is in the horizon. From very reliable sources, Marian's new manager is negotiating with TV5 for a cool 120Million package for a 3-year period. Marian is reportedly very keen on the idea.
Note that to this day, Marian remains very close to her former boss, Wilma Galvante, GMA’s Senior VP for Entertainment and now TV5’s current Head of Entertainment Division. Mr. Tuviera whose TAPE Productions also produces Eat Bulaga aired over GMA has siblings who have transferred to TV5 and are now producing shows there. Marian's favorite director, Mac Alejandre is also with TV5.
All signs factored in, is it safe to conclude that Marian’s transfer to TV5 is becoming more and more imminent by the day?
It was reported that Marian is very excited with all the fresh developments coming her way ever since she made that major management leap. Her excitement is even more highlighted by her joining the world of social media - finally!
Marian who is now a proud Instagram account holder with user name "thereal marian" is thrilled to do her thing in the photo-sharing network - her first ever social-networking account.

DeleteLet's leave the News and Current affairs of both networks alone. Don't you get the point of stars who leave their network and considering to transfer on TV5? What did Sharon, Derek, JC De Vera, Maricel Soriano, Claudine and other prominent and bankable artists get? Money yes, but the fame/popularity as an artist NONE. Personally, I prefer Marian Rivera to transfer on ABS or just stay on GMA than to transfer on TV5. Consider the pros that she will get on ABS, her reputation as palengkera queen will vanish because ABS know how to handle their stars well. They know how to control the damage. Aside from TV shows, what movies has Marian made that made her an icon? None. Richard Guiterrez who has been with GMA for so long didn't get any acting awards to date but the film arm of ABS, Star Cinema made a GMA star Dingdong receive 2 consecutive acting awards. Marian will belong to the status of Angel, Bea, Anne, Angelica, etc as an artist. But the cons, ABS is already over crowded. If she stays on GMA7, she will reign as the network's prime time superstar but it will take a time for her to gain the status of box office queen for movies or even acting award nods or an acting award itself. But transferring to TV5 is a NO, NO. Even ABS's #1 profit earning show, Wowowee was copied by TV5 but what happened? They regained nothing as well. So to end, Marian must stay with GMA or transfer to ABS but not to TV5.

DeleteIf Marian moves to the brotherhood, this could be her worst mistake. Saw her when she was just having bit roles in the Heart like mother of the twins and I always wondered why she was not being given the big breaks as she was so beautiful. So when Marimar arrived, I was happy for her and yes that started her career. But in the brotherhood, she will be forgotten. Let us face it, no matter who the big star is - She's the Guy, Shawee, You Don't Do That to Me....they just cannot sustain it. Wala man lang dent. If she moves to the Family, she will be like her former Darna - sometimes may career, more often wala She will be like one of many of their big stars. Nagpakapalengkera lng nmn cguro noon, maning maning mging mabango ang pngalan nya. Anu nmn kung di sya susyal? Mdmi kyang chararat mag english sa ABS pero ang followers nmn boom na boom! Haha. Money wise, stay with GMA, or go to TV5. Pero career wise, sa ABS siya at mrmi syang mtututunan from there. -opinion lang. :)

its a classic case of getting bitter or better..im so fascinated of how casual and candid people pass judgements on celebrities its as if they live with them or they are the ones running the celebs lives.Opinions are opinions..People resort to uneducated rants when their ability to logicise and analyse are questioned..tsk.tsk.sad..let her do what her heart desires..

ReplyDeleteThey did the same thing with Sharon Cuneta, offered a humongous amount of money, she bit the deal, career flunked. Marian should think twice before doing such move, TV5 can pay her better but they can never make her star, shine brighter.

ReplyDeleteI hope Marian will not transfer to TV5. What happened to the actors and actresses that moved there? She should think beyond 3 years. Her facebook account has more than 2.6 million likes already compared to below 500 thou for most actresses compared to her. I hope though that GMA could find a very good storywriter for her, not just a fantaserye. A story in the tradition of Wanted: Perfect Mother for example.

Pls wag kang lumipat ng chanel dahil khit 5 or 2 ang puntahan mo ilulubog ka nila dhil mraming beses n silang natabunan mo at npakatagal n silang inis sayo.. hindi sila papayag na matabunan mo ng mas matagal pa kaya kung walang maipantapat sayo, aakitin ka nila ng malaking pera para wala na silang problema.. kikitain mo pa un sikat n sikat ka pa.. and pls wag mo kming i down ayaw namin s ibang chanel.. kikitain mo pa ang pera na binibigti nila.. wla sila maipantapat sayo malaki ng lugi nila kya kukunin ka nila para ibaba..
