Oops, Heart Evangelista Can't Vote for Chiz Escudero

Senatorial candidate Francis "Chiz" Escudero is deemed to lose the vote that could matter most to him.

The re-electionist senator couldn't rely on girlfriend Heart Evangelista's vote come election day because the Kapuso actress isn't registered in Comelec (Commission on Elections) to begin with.

Love Marie Payawal Ongpauco, Heart's real name, is nowhere to be found when Yahoo! Southeast Asia checked Comelec's Precinct Finder.  The actress also admitted this to Yahoo! Southeast Asia.

"Yes I'm not [registered]. In fact I feel sad that I can't even vote for my boyfriend but since I dated Chiz I realized the importance and significance of the right to suffrage," the actress said in a text message sent through her manager.

"It's our chance to affect change in our country," she added, referring to elections.

It could be recalled that Heart made waves recently when she posed for the Election Issue of Esquire Philippines. The Kapuso actress was pictured wearing a white statement tank that screamed VOTE, a strong message to over 50 million registered Filipinos.

But it seems that Chiz no longer needs Heart's as he's already secured of another Senate seat, the latest SWS survey hinted. Chiz has always ranked between 1 and 3 in surveys, but the highly publicized feud with his "would be-in-laws" that made the headlines last March appears to be Chiz's bump in the road to 2016 presidential polls.

On Monday, the re-electionist senator is set to cast his vote in Sorsogon. It is not immediately known whether Heart will fulfill her girlfriend duties and accompany Chiz in the election precinct.

      Minsan kasi we judge people on how they speak (and the language they use) pero dapat i-dissect din ang depth ng sinasabi ng tao. Anon 4:29am has a point, mas may sense nga magsalita si MR than Heart in most of their interviews. At 28, you should know the importance of voting or at least know that it is your right. Besides, this topic isn't about MR, why do you have to compare? Napahiya ka pa tuloy. Peace!

    Ateng simply say 'suffrage' not 'right to suffrage' since suffrage already means 'the right to vote.' Mageffort ka din kc dyowa mo senador.

      True! But then again, what can you expect from someone who didn't even make an effort to finish highschool, if totoo man yung sabi ng mom nya. Being an actress is no longer (and never was actually) an excuse not to finish school kahit highschool man lang.

    Ang edukado ay yung mga taong nag aasal tao at marunong rumespeto ng tao di porke may pinag aralan kayo edukado na kayo. Di naman obligatory ang pagboto, its her choice.

      That's true. No relation whatsoever with voting but her attitude of not finishing high school also shows her attitude that is somehow related to what she just stated. Baka hindi pa nya alam ang importance ng education ngayon because if she did, she would have availed of homeschooling or whatever. Just like her attitide towards exercising her right to vote.

      Oo hindi obligatory ang pagboto pero its a right granted to you. As a responsible citizen of this country you should exercise your right to vote. Kaya ganito nangyayari sa country natin e, pagpili na nga lang ng mamumuno para sa bansa natin hindi pa magawa. Tpos mga reklamo kayo sa mga namumuno at puro kayo gusto ng pagbabago.

    Kung makapanghusga naman mga tao dto. Hndi ako fan ni heart pro choice niya un. I, myself nwawalan din ng gana bumoto and don't really practice my right to vote and that's my choice. Kasi i don't want to vote just for the sake of voting. Yun lang

      If you don't vote, pano yon? Wala kang k na pumintas sa elected officials kasi hindi ka man lang nag participate. Pero ikaw, assume na lang natin na private citizen ka at hindi popular actress na nangangampanya para sa boyfriend mong pulitika at naging cover pa ng voting issue ng Esquire (sama ng research nila hahahah).

      At please lang, I bet kung tanungin mo si Heart, hindi yan ang rason niya kung bakit hindi siya bumoboto. Sabi niya nga mismo, ngayon niya lang na realize kung gano ka importante ang voting process. In other words, ignorante pala siya. Nakakahiya di ba?

    FYI, 5.8 Million Filipinos are within the eligible age to vote, among these, only 3.9 Million are registered voters. Considering the nature of their jobs, marami talaga are not registered. Ngayon lang naman nauso ang absentee voting. Kahit mga journalists, artists and professionals are not registered. So, I don't think you have the right to judge a person as dumb or brat just because hindi naka-register or did not priotize casting their votes during election.

      How Is this a valid argument? Just because Hindi USO, na everyone else doesn't do it anymore, na it's too much of a hassle, ok na Lang? FYI. Walang pasok sa elections okay. Ang dami pang excuses. Paano tayo uunlad Kung puro short term at personal goals Lang ang iisipin natin? Isang araw Lang to sa tatlong taon para sa seats na to.     You do not need to date a politician to know how your vote can change the country. It may be considered as a citizen's right but more than that, voting is a concrete contribution one can do for the country's future.
    My personal take on the issue, she shouldn't even have posed for the above-shown photo since she is not practicing what she is "posing" este preaching.

    Sana malaman mo Heart ang pinagdaanan ng mga kapwa mong kababaihan mabigyan ka lang ng karapatan bumoto. Kasama na rin ang mga magaling na nagsasabing karapatan niya ang di bumoto. Hanggang ngayon nga ay may mga lugar pa rin sa mundo na di puwedeng bumoto ang mga babae. Huwag mo sanang sayangin amg nasa iyo na pero isa pa ring mailap na bagay para sa mga iba.

    Ano ba yan..naawa pa naman ako sa kanya sa panghihiya sa kanya ng parents nya. Eh wala pala syang karapatan magbigay ng opinyon tungkol sa election. At lalong wala syang karapatan at credibility na magpose at magencourage sa mga tao na bumoto dahil mismong sya hindi registered. Agree ako sa comment ng nasa taas..bumaba rin pagtingin ko sa kanya. Ano ba naman si Heart, puro ganda at kasosyalan..puro pag-English ng wala naman pala sense sinasabi. Close sila ni Sen.Mirriam at bf nya si Chiz tapos di sya registered? Busy sya sa career?..walang time magparehistro pero maraming time magdate at magshopping. Hay..Heart..kaka-turn off ka..tama pala mommy mo..ayusin mo muna sarili mo..wag ka na lang magsalita.

    It is both our RIGHT and RESPONSIBILITY to vote for our country. Bakit biglang naging ok ang Hindi bumoto? Ang pangit ng message nito. She shouldnt have agreed to this kasi it sends outl the wrong message and it makes her look too much like a hypocrite.
