Marjorie Barretto to Sue Person behind Half-Naked Photo

Marjorie Barretto is suing the unnamed person who is the source of her half-naked online photo for violation of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act, which has been made into a law.

This, Marjorie’s lawyer, Lorna Kapunan told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! in a phone interview.

According to the law, the culprit, when found guilty, must pay a fine of not less than P100,000 but not more than P500,000 and imprisoned for not less than three years.

Kapunan added that her client has an idea on who posted the offending photo, but doesn’t want to talk about it for now. The ball is now in the hands of the Natonal Bureau of Investigation (NBI), which is set to find out who the source of the photo is. Kapunan also revealed that her office has written all the blog sites to get to the bottom of the scandal.

Atty. Kapunan added that her client Marjorie thinks the photo scandal has nothing to do with the ongoing Barretto family feud.

“She is the most quiet of the Barrettos. She has not sided with anyone and she has not made any public pronouncement about the fight between the two siblings (Gretchen and Claudine),” Kapunan explained.

Marjorie’s main concern, according to Atty. Kapunan, is her five children, who are exposed to online media at a very early age.

Kapunan also said that this will be a test for the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act since nobody has filed a case for violation of the said law until Marjorie’s case came up.

      copy paste ni FP yung article na clear and cropped photo sa abs ata, di kasali si FP kasi blurred naman, ang alam ko kakasuhan yung mga nag upload ng clear photos na until now nasa net pa din. tsaka diba sabi doon sa last article na pinadalhan daw nila Atty yung mga blogger ng letter para i delete yung photo at pag hindi na delete tsaka nila kakasuhan. dapat kasuhan nila yung mismong nag upload ng pic diba?

      Tinanggi pa rin niya nung nakita na niya yung picture eh. She even said na she's not the woman in the picture kasi daw may double chin ganito ganyan. She initially denied it.     I dont understand this-- in the first place why did she have these pictures taken? If she respects herself and thought of he 5 kids in her immature mind she would have not allowed it to happen-- IMO she took the picture herself from her computer?

      Hmmm to be honest I don't see anything wrong if she took those photos. If she was dating someone then, and those photos were just meant for her partner, what's wrong with that? There was no intent to release them publicly. What she does behind closed doors is none of our business.

    It was inappropriate. Yet the last thing people can do is not to judge her for everyone of us commits sin and make mistakes,malaki o maliit ang kasalanan at pagkakamali ay iyon pa din. We should not be tolerating her, but understanding her that we are human and our flesh is weak. It' already painful for her, tapos ibabash pa natin sya?     kung ang ipinaglalaban nya ay kahihiyan nga mga anak nya sana tumahimik na lang sya as in dedma and let people speculate about the identity of the naked woman. the motive of the person behind the published photos is to put Marjorie to shame and she accomplished this big time the moment marjorie confirmed the identity of the x-rated woman. Ok, granting that justice will be served (asa ka pa talaga ha?) masaya ka ba na magsuffer ang mga anak mo? kahit ilang generations pa yan mauungkat that once upon a time the grand, grand, grand of the grandest mama was blah, blah...the story will haunt their lahi ng walang katapusan. ay naku, kc umiral ang paghihiganti which they refer to as 'justice'. tignan natin kung hanggang saan makarating ang kaso na yan. Meantime, suffer the consequences. I hope the kids will be spared of the impact.

    Sorry but I think Marjorie should also assume some responsibility for what happened. It would seem that she voluntarily posed for the pictures. Since the pictures already exist, there is always that risk of the pictures being seen by other people. I think the biggest lesson she can pass on to her kids, don't pose nude, ever!

    may capability ba ang NBI natin para matrace kung saan galing or kung sino nag upload ng pictures..? Natatandaan ko dati during sa interview na sinabi ng taga nbi na kulang sila ng gamit upang matrace ang origin ng pix..
