I don't think she's off. She's the one that every contestant can relate to. She was once in every singing auditions like all these hopefuls.
In the end, it's not all about talent. It's more on attitude, perseverance and humility that will make you survive and last in the business. I think Sarah can share her experiences and learnings as she also continue with her own journey.

ANON 2:28, first off, Sarah never claimed to be a Broadway diva. She's a POP princess, a genre that Lea herself admits she's "uncomfortable" with. The diversity in judges is great, pero I just feel na parang isiningit na lang si Sarah kasi they axed her show. I'm not saying she has inferior talent or has less "star power" than the other three, her inclusion just seems "off" to me somehow.

Lea is ever gracious that's why she accepted the job. Lea knows the whole show would be a disaster with Sarah as one of the judges. At least, kung andyan si Lea, she can keep Sarah's ka-negahan, kaartehan, and parinig in check. Lea can teach Sarah what "singing" and "judging" really are.
I dont think walang alam c sarah. she have been in the industry for long and have trained with the best vocal coaches here and in the US. Leah is far from sarah but i guess within her generation she is the most experienced. just saying, not a fantard here.
I think the reason why they put Sarah as a coach is to encourage the teens / early adults to audition. We practically grew up watching Sarah.. Many idolize her. If sa mga singing contests, tanungin mo ung mga kasali, si Sarah ang idol nila. Or gusto nila maachieve ung naachieve na ni Sarah. So I don't think she is a misfit. Plus factor na lang ung panghatak din talaga sya ng audience.
Si Robi naman, he is put there para may bagets feel ung show. Sa social media sya naassign dba? So I think perfect sya for this.
Actually, si Toni nga ang feeling ko ndi bagay dito, Parang nakakaumay. Wala na bang iba? How about Atom Araullo? Dba? Pwede sana.. Crossover from news to entertainment.
i guess that's primarily the reason - hatak sa masa - but to be a coach in the real sense of the word, as much as matagal na rin sya sa industry, may kulang pa talaga. i think the girl is too polite to be a mentor/coach. i still look forward to the show though.
Actually, ayoko pa sanang imention dito ung mentoring skills ni Sarah. Bilang ndi pa naman natin alam diba? Unless 24/7 ka kasama ni Sarah (rehearsals, recordings, etc.)? So you see, wag muna close minded na porke prim and proper, ndi na magaling na mentor. Magagaling ung mga nagmentor din kay Sarah, mga voice coach nia. Nagtraining pa sya sa US. So for sure may napulot sya dun. Let's wait and see. Malay mo revelation sya dito? :)
Sana naman Sarah would be brutally honest if needed. Hindi yung i-baby pa yung obviously walang talent sa pagkanta. You're just giving people false hope - just like K from the most recent reality singing show ng Dos. Sarah should take a leaf out of Lea's playbook. Main reason why Sarah was chosen as a judge is to make hatak sa mga jejes all over the country! You know naman, these type of people can identify themselves with their veritable popstar kuno!

They became stars without crying in front of national TV. They became real singers without their mommies dictating them what to do.

Kahit si Lea pa ang pinakamatagal sa industry at may Tony award pa under her belt, ang reality ay select lang ang audience sa type of music nya. Actually sa apat na judge yung genre nya ang hindi makaka relate ang masa. Fact is Pop, Rock, RnB/ Hiphop ang patok sa tao. Kahit nga sa Broadway para mag draw nang crowd hindi na purely theatrically trained singers ang kinikuha. Hina-hire na ngayon nila mga mainstream pop artists para sa mga musicals nila. At wish ko lang hindi sya kagays nang brother nya na si Gerard Salonga na terror sa mga new talents. Napanood ko kasi sya as judge/ mentor sa isang talent search sa ibang channel at kawawa yung contestants sa pagka terror at perfectionist nya.
Hello, if being a "terror" teacher and a "perfectionist" are what it takes to become a "real singer" then so be it. i am a fan of sarah but this judging and mentoring job is not for her, now. Maybe 5 or 10 years from now she could be a mentor but to do this project is premature. Talented she maybe but compared to her co-judges, she's way behind. - luwii

I think the idea really is to have someone young but with a lot of achievement and experience when it comes to singing/performing. Yes, Lea has a waaaaay lot more of these but with Sarah's generation, I think isa na sya sa mga matataas ang narating.
For me, this is the dream team! Walang off sa kanila. Lea, Sarah, Bamboo and Apl de App are all deserving to be a coach. The same goes to Toni as the main host. Admit it or not, may napatunayan na naman talaga siya when it comes to hosting. The same goes to the mentors. Kung ayaw niyo sa kanila then use your remote control :)

Si Sarah ang off dito, obviously. Baka nga tanungin niya pa si Mommy Divine kung ano ang opinyon niya sa mga contestants or whether bet ni Mommy or ang mga andun sa auditions. Tapos, during the show, she'll look for a sign from Mommy if ok sa kanya na i-press nya ang button para mag-swivel ang chair niya towards the stage. Hay nako, sana si Mommy Divine na lang ang pina-judge!
Sarah doesn't really know anything. She doesn't belong. The other judges are independent-minded, but Sarah is like a school girl waiting for the next instructions before acting or doing anything. She doesn't even know how to pick a boyfriend or even pick her own dress without Mommy Divine's assent. Kaloka! To the next level na ang pagka-stage mother!

The diversity in judges is great, pero I just feel na parang isiningit na lang si Sarah kasi they axed her show. DeleteI think the reason why they put Sarah as a coach is to encourage the teens / early adults to audition. We practically grew up watching Sarah.. Many idolize her. If sa mga singing contests, tanungin mo ung mga kasali, si Sarah ang idol nila. Or gusto nila maachieve ung naachieve na ni Sarah. So I don't think she is a misfit. Plus factor na lang ung panghatak din talaga sya ng audience.

Hello, if being a "terror" teacher and a "perfectionist" are what it takes to become a "real singer" then so be it. Palibhasa sa ibang mga jeje singers, sinabihan lang na mali, magbabalat sibuyas kaagad. Yan ang worry ko kay Sarah, kasi mahilig syang mag-bigay ng false advice kahit waley naman ang boses. Gusto ng mga Pinoy dapat i-console palagi...the result? Mediocre singers na puro birit (at parinig sa TV) ang alam.

Deletei am a fan of sarah but this judging and mentoring job is not for her, now. Maybe 5 or 10 years from now she could be a mentor but to do this project is premature. Talented she maybe but compared to her co-judges, she's way behind. - luwii
ReplyDeletebehind? she's young yes, but her accomplishments speaks for itself..with those accomplishments came struggles and hard work, i'm pretty sure she's matured enough to bring that to another level and assist other contestants.

DeleteI think the idea really is to have someone young but with a lot of achievement and experience when it comes to singing/performing. Yes, Lea has a waaaaay lot more of these but with Sarah's generation, I think isa na sya sa mga matataas ang narating.
Just a question to all who think Sarah is off:
DeleteWho among today's generation who deserves the position? I think we should disregard artists with same genre as Lea, Bamboo and APL.
For me, this is the dream team! Walang off sa kanila. Lea, Sarah, Bamboo and Apl de App are all deserving to be a coach. The same goes to Toni as the main host. Admit it or not, may napatunayan na naman talaga siya when it comes to hosting. The same goes to the mentors. Kung ayaw niyo sa kanila then use your remote control :)

Deleteok lang naman siguro si sarah dahil successful naman siya as a pop star. ang naka-off lang kasi wala siyang conversational skills. how can she banter with the other judges? mga articulate at matatalino ang mga yan. baka mapag-iwanan lang siya. look at charice, nasira ang image dahil sa xfactor. kaya this is a make or break for her.

ReplyDeleteSi Sarah ang off dito, obviously. Baka nga tanungin niya pa si Mommy Divine kung ano ang opinyon niya sa mga contestants or whether bet ni Mommy or ang mga andun sa auditions. Tapos, during the show, she'll look for a sign from Mommy if ok sa kanya na i-press nya ang button para mag-swivel ang chair niya towards the stage. Hay nako, sana si Mommy Divine na lang ang pina-judge!

The other judges are independent-minded, but Sarah is like a school girl waiting for the next instructions before acting or doing anything. She doesn't even know how to pick a boyfriend or even pick her own dress without Mommy Divine's assent. Kaloka! To the next level na ang pagka-stage mother!
