A hint as to the actual origins of the version Beyoncé sang came from her own hand: On January 20, the day before the ceremony, Beyoncé posted pictures to her Instagram account that appeared to show her in a recording studio. In one, she holds a copy of the sheet music to “The Star Spangled Banner” in front of a microphone attached to a recording device, and in another she sits in front of recording equipment while members of the Marine Corps Band stand clutching sheet music behind her.
Miming along to a pre-recorded track isn’t unheard of at inaugural ceremonies. At President Obama’s 2009 inauguration, cold weather and wind meant that a live performance by cellist Yo-Yo Ma and violinist Itzhak Perlman had to be nixed in favor of a recording. But there are no previously known cases of a singer lip-syncing the national anthem during an inaugural performance.

beyonce doesnt lip sync ever!!! she nailed it and it's freaking live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteHere in America, when the Star Spangled Banner is sang, it is performed with no accompaniment of any ban or instrument whatsoever. The singer will just sing it on her own and this is what Beyonce did. I live in DC and we saw this performance yesterday live on TV.
ReplyDelete"is sung" not "is sang"
DeleteI read People Magazine, it says she did Lyp Synced. She didn't have the time to rehearse with the Marine Corps Band, that's why. Also, apparently, anybody who will sing in an inauguration will have to record the SPB in the event that the singer will not be able to sing live.
DeleteShe did lip-sypnc (without ED)!
Palibhasa wala kang alam.
Deleterule no. 1: NEVER DOUBT BEYONCE!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen in doubt, always refer to rule no. 1
Tumfak!
ReplyDeletelive!
ReplyDeleteAGREE!
DeleteThis sucks a million more because we know that Beyonce could have sang it live.
ReplyDeleteThere must be a really good reason for her to decide at the last minute that she'll use the pre-recorded track. Regardless, i'm still a Beyonce stan through and through!
beyonce stan forever! so what if she mimed the SSB? whatever her reasons, we all know she can belt her heart out anytime if she wants to..
DeleteDefinitely not a lip sync!! You could tell she's really singing...
ReplyDeleteya right!
DeleteIf she did she's the first! And she could get away with it cuz she's Miss B. But if that's in Pinas nasa lahat na cya ng tabloid and of course Kay FP
ReplyDeleteMukha ngang lip sync.
DeleteCharice is that you? lol
Deletei dont its lip sync...una palang she struggling to distance from microphone and at the last part her voice could not sustain the vibrato.
ReplyDeleteCome on guys, for anyone who will be invited to sing the National Anthem of the United States of America, with the whole world watching, during the inauguration day of one of the most powerful and influential person in the world, it will always be wise to consider not to do it live and to lip sync it instead.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how much more criticisms will people gonna throw to her if she failed to nail it on that day. Imagine she didn't hit the notes right?Or worse, she lost her voice on that day?It will be a complete disaster. It's a professional move for her not do do it live.
Anyway, regardless whether it's lip synced or live, Beyonce is still Beyonce.. =)
tama!
DeleteIt has been confirmed. It was indeed lip synced. I just wonder, did Beyonce doubt her ability to sing live? If others can sing live, why can't she? Well, at least she did it as if she's really singing live. Magaling umarte ang lola nyo, infernez!
ReplyDeleteBut then, Beyonce is Beyonce as Anna Dizon is Anna Dizon.
THE WHO is Anna Dizon?
Deletemy thoughts exactly. she's beyonce for crying out loud. why wont she sing live? need ba na millions ang talent fee just to sing a single song? e its a national anthem naman. these celebs talaga tsk tsk
DeleteSino b yng ana dizon n yn?at png ilang beses ko na nbbsa yn s mga comments d2.nt unless slow lng aq at dq prn naiicp n joke lng pla un
DeleteIt's an old joke.
Deleteshe has her reasons why she didn't sing it live..maybe she doesn't have enough time to practice it dahil nka focus xa sa knyang upcoming superbowl performance?? remember, beyonce is a perfectionist and i'm sure she definitely does not want to mess up on that special day.
DeleteThe band at the inauguration admitted that she lipsynced...oooops
ReplyDeleteAlso, did anyone observe that she sort of snubbed VP Biden? Wonder why she did not even shake hands with him. Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteKesyo i lip sync niya yan or kahit utot pa niya ang nasa recording, Beyonce is Beyonce at mas maganda parin ang boses niya sating lahat! LOL!
ReplyDelete-IamRP
Lip synched or not, she did an awesome performance. Kanya rin naman yung recording mga teh. Love Beyonce - beautiful, can sing, can dance, hmmm can act na rin, can host na rin, rich, what more can a man ask for?
ReplyDeleteit's not lip synced. quality ng sound from a record and a live performance is very different, usually maririnig mo un sa buga ng mic at sa mga pag bwelo ng singer. Beyonce's performance was live.
ReplyDeleteit was lip synched. confirmed by the United States Marine Band... Kelly Clarkson's wasnt...
DeleteMariah Carey did this also sa halftime ng Superbowl. I follow Beyonce (baddiebey) on Instagram and I saw that "picture". Wala namang issue dito. May napatunayan na si Beyonce and Mariah so kebs na dito. :)
ReplyDeletemy golly, she's very talented, why not sing it live? i dont get it (kung true nga)
ReplyDeleteactually america doesnt give a damn. they are more concern about their economy. they are actually accusing the american media of blowing something out of proportion. dito lang naman sa pilipinas magiging ulam ang ganyang balita. hahaha. aminin.
Deletedoesn't give a damn pero nasa balita? hanube!
DeleteKung si Charice yan, live nya kakantahin.
ReplyDelete--ninetails
who cares. Gosh, it was still her voice! We already know Beyonce is an exceptional singer!
ReplyDeleteTruelalooo!
