Teresa, who represents Czechoslovakia, bested 79 other international delegates for the Miss Earth crown. She admits her native country has a long way to go in terms of environmental consciousness.
The beauty queen shares that she was surprised by the number of recycle bins in Manila, which they lack in Czech Republic. She is also pushing for the use of solar energy.

Deletenaku kaloka si ms earth kagabi sa bandila during fast talk with boy abunda, when asked on "planting trees" she said NO! as in NO! tito boy repeated as if confused on her answer and said NO Naah! and then maybe somebody off cam enlightened her to finally say yes and said sorry for her initial answer. Ms Earth and does not say YES to planting trees!!!!

I almost choked on my dinner when she said matter-of-factly, "No. I hate it."
WTH?!
Boy apparently was in disbelief as well, he had to repeat, and then rephrase the question. He event went to the point of stating that "planting trees" and saving the earth was supposed to be her advocacy as Miss Earth.
Hayun, natauhan siguro sa faux pas niya. Bumawi agad, tapos sabi, "destroying trees. That's what I hate."

I don't think it's a misstep. Boy had to ask the question twice, because he himself could not believe her. She only capitulated when Boy stressed that it's supposed to be her advocacy.
Just only goes to show that beauty is only skin deep. Whatever claims this beauty pageant presents, in the end it's only about objectifying the feminine gender.
Maybe she did not understand the question.

DeleteJust because she is not fluent in English doesn't mean she's dumb. Nobody, in my opinion, answered the question "What is your defining moment as a woman?". All of them answered in English except one who used an interpreter. Even Miss Philippines didn't answer it to the point. They were all blabbing about caring for the environment. The winner, who I do not understand why there was no interpreter around, was honest enough to say that she didn't understand the question but did her speech that the rest of the contestants gave.
