I remember Izza Calzado's recent cover for Metro wherein they flew to Barcelona. Initially, one cover lang dapat yun pero ginawang 3-panel gatefold dahil nahirapan ang team kung ano ang gagawin na cover dahil halos lahat maganda and para nga naman hindi din masayang ang beautiful back-drop nya which is Barcelona. I have no intentions to compare, pero sana Angel delivered that way na tipong nahirapan ang Rogue kung alin ang gagawin cover sa sobrang ganda ng bawat shots. eh kaso ito hindi, parang nahirapan pa ang rogue mag photoshop. At kung hindi pa dahil sa Nihongo character, hindi ko mako-connect na sa Japan ang shoot nito.
This is supposed to be a tokyo-ish old magazine style... I've seen the other photos and it was good... Mark Nicdao did a good job and it really looked like an old tokyo mag.
Overly dislike.. Pangit nung outfit, background, make up.. Parang so so lang.. Next time kasi be professional ng hindi maging maganda outcome nung photo shoot.. Tsk tsk..
Maganda sana yung concept ng Rogue and naiintindihan ko why Angel's on top of their mind for this cover. Sad to say, hindi na-deliver ni Angel what's expected from her.

I remember yung cover ni Anne sa paris ba yun basta somewhere in europe, ayun talaga may effort. Eto parang dinaan na sa dami ng text pra gumulo to the point na hindi na maintindihan, siguro kasi di ganun kaganda photoshoot. Prang biggest letdown sa portfolio ni MNicdao.

My 2 cents on the cover, there's no compelling need to go to Japan to have this shot taken and make "this shot" this month's cover! it could have been done on a studio, thus, it's really a waste of budget! and since Angel is not totally enticing at the cover for certain reasons we know why, it was worse to see the cover to be a complete mess! it looks rubbish!

Parang ngayon lang nalait ang cover ng Rouge ah! They usually have gorgeous and spectacular covers. Yung talagang aabangan mo talaga. This one simply fell short. What happened? From the model's expression and pose down to her clothes, can't find any other words to put it pero pangit talaga. HIndi mo malaman kung ano ang concept.
so ito na pala yung mini mini mai nimo pic para gawing cover? hehe hindi na lang dapat xa ng pout ng lips, nagfefeeling angelina jolie kasi.. nagmukha tuloy TH!
The concept is always interesting! Think Kill Bill where the bride storms into a Japanese pub and slashes the men's extremities right on. The cover is not great nor that bad at all. it has a Manga vibe to it actually. However this is a letdown compared to its predecessor(s). So Un-ROGUE. Having said that I imagine they could've shoot Angel Locsin during rush hour, grace under pressure while standing on a cab's roof, that would be EPIC. But then again no.
Angel's mag covers sell because they are appealing and worth the money...plus the inside story and photos are most of the time are to die for. In her Rogue cover, the team chose a cover shot that would camouflage what is really inside that magazine. There have been unpolished photos released by Rogue and the Mosbeau team and i might say they were totally sooooo HOT and gorgeous..her natural beauty really came out. This magazine will sell like a hot potato, you know why because this shall cater to MEN and Women not only to her fans per se. The Cover is just the tip of the iceberg,, wait till you see the inside photos, they were totally unpolished and i commend Angel because shooting in the streets of Japan is not easy considering the fact that she is not a real model, but she did it like a real pro. kudos to Marc Nicdao, he sure is an excellent photographer.
Dislike kasi parang matabang ang itsura nya dito at kung Assasin or Street Smart ang concept, kulang talaga sa projection. Kung ito yung sinasabi sa dating BI, I am not surprised. Buti yung graphics team dinaan sa digital enhancement ang cover na ito dahil kung siguro magiging honest ang production team, baka ginawang Picasso ang photo ni Angel dito. Kapi Kat
more than how angel looks, i am bothered that this picture seems to endorse or encourage gun use. this brings back to mind the other rogue controversial cover showing anne curtis holding a cigarette. i know that they're (angel and anne) supposed to be embodying characters in their photos but the people behind these images should also not discount the power of pictures. sometimes the mere act of suggestion is more powerful than an actual prodding.
Beks, ginagawa lang naman po nila yung intended concept ng photographer. Napakababaw na tao lang ang mag-iisip na porke may hawak na baril si Angel eh Pro-Gun na sya in the same way na porke may hawak na sigarilyo si Anne eh ine-encourage na nya ang paninigarilyo sa makakakita ng magazine.
haha feeling naman ng mga nagco-comment dito eh magaganda at magaling sila mag shoot and lay out ng magazine! i LIKE this, not because i'm a fan of angel, but because hindi naman pangit yung cover nor the model. it's not as great as the other covers, but this seems interesting. and i dont know what you guys are saying, but angel is hot in this cover!

DeleteParang ngayon lang nalait ang cover ng Rouge ah! They usually have gorgeous and spectacular covers. Yung talagang aabangan mo talaga. This one simply fell short. What happened? From the model's expression and pose down to her clothes, can't find any other words to put it pero pangit talaga. HIndi mo malaman kung ano ang concept.

DeleteThe concept is always interesting! Think Kill Bill where the bride storms into a Japanese pub and slashes the men's extremities right on. The cover is not great nor that bad at all. it has a Manga vibe to it actually. However this is a letdown compared to its predecessor(s). So Un-ROGUE. Having said that I imagine they could've shoot Angel Locsin during rush hour, grace under pressure while standing on a cab's roof, that would be EPIC. But then again no.
ReplyDeleteAngel's mag covers sell because they are appealing and worth the money...plus the inside story and photos are most of the time are to die for. In her Rogue cover, the team chose a cover shot that would camouflage what is really inside that magazine. There have been unpolished photos released by Rogue and the Mosbeau team and i might say they were totally sooooo HOT and gorgeous..her natural beauty really came out. This magazine will sell like a hot potato, you know why because this shall cater to MEN and Women not only to her fans per se. The Cover is just the tip of the iceberg,, wait till you see the inside photos, they were totally unpolished and i commend Angel because shooting in the streets of Japan is not easy considering the fact that she is not a real model, but she did it like a real pro. kudos to Marc Nicdao, he sure is an excellent photographer.

ReplyDeleteDislike kasi parang matabang ang itsura nya dito at kung Assasin or Street Smart ang concept, kulang talaga sa projection. Kung ito yung sinasabi sa dating BI, I am not surprised. Buti yung graphics team dinaan sa digital enhancement ang cover na ito dahil kung siguro magiging honest ang production team, baka ginawang Picasso ang photo ni Angel dito. Kapi Kat

ReplyDeletemore than how angel looks, i am bothered that this picture seems to endorse or encourage gun use. this brings back to mind the other rogue controversial cover showing anne curtis holding a cigarette. i know that they're (angel and anne) supposed to be embodying characters in their photos but the people behind these images should also not discount the power of pictures. sometimes the mere act of suggestion is more powerful than an actual prodding.

haha feeling naman ng mga nagco-comment dito eh magaganda at magaling sila mag shoot and lay out ng magazine! i LIKE this, not because i'm a fan of angel, but because hindi naman pangit yung cover nor the model. it's not as great as the other covers, but this seems interesting. and i dont know what you guys are saying, but angel is hot in this cover!
