The SE Asia gay community is in itself a minority. You simply don't function the way the rest of the gay community does. Every time the LGBT visit India, Thailand, Philippines, or Malaysia, the reaction is the same---Why are there so many drag queens? Where the hell are the gay men?
A stereotype as inpolitically correct as it may be is not altogether baseless. Yes, Gay men are known to be flamboyant. But in most of the western world today, the vast majority don't care for being effeminate.
Coming out didn't equate to becoming a girl. Most gay men never felt they were trapped in a woman's body. AND THE TWO ARE SO DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER. A Male to Female transgender has more in common with a straight woman than she could ever possibly have with a gay man.
Most gay men in the world are not uncomfortable with their bodies. They simply happen to be men who like men. "Lalaking lalaki." NO LESS A MAN.
There is no shame in whatever your gender association or sexual orientation. Kindly love yourself. But learn to accept a simple underlying truth that your part of the world seems to over look.
MOST GAY MEN IN THE WORLD DO NOT CONSIDER THEMSELVES WOMAN NOR DO THEY WANT TO. You, dear Philippines, are a unique minority. And along with the rest of SE Asia's gay community, you confuse the rest of us.
There is no way to identify a Gay Male because not every Gay man suffers from a trapped in another body mentality.
