1. There is no obvious concept. The facial expressions are not complementary to each other. It even looks as if they were just asked to pose by themselves while in a group shot. 2. Xian Lim's pose has no leverage with Kathryn Bernardo or Jessy Mendiola's. He looks like an outlier. 3. Jessy Mendiola's arm looks awkward in the photo. It is not straight nor does it have an angle.
Some Pros:
1. Very good contrast. The colors are so vibrant. 2. If people don't know how these model actor and actresses look like in real life, this photo can pass for a good pictorial shot, but it is still lacking (esp the concept) as a cover.

Dislike. So, the next big thing in showbiz are 3 individuals who look starved, haughty and ghoulish. I am now beginning to doubt the taste level of Ms.Sari Yap. Mega's vision is always in the future but, lately I have noticed their covers are failing big time in projecting this fierce vision.
hmmmm... near morticia addams effect? it seems the cover wants the girls to grow up fast. si xian ata parang isa lang ang look sa lahat ng covers niya.
We should all consider na fashion magazine ang Mega. So the make-up styling and everything has to go with a concept. Di naman sya beauty magazine like look na chakakan talaga yung fez nung cover so give na naten. It does not matter kung nagmuka silang MAS matanda than they are as long as the cover fits the concept. WAg lang tayo square sa conventional na beauty. (Baka me magsabi taga-Mega ako kasi dinefend ko, hindi ako taga-Mega. Di lang ako nega.) As I said, fashion magazine ito and the cover aims to look good for art's sake, secondary lang yung for vanity's sake.
Masyadong sharp ang pagkaka-edit. OA na sa photoshop. I think there should be a code of conduct or "fair usage policy" when using photoshop. Para naman di naaabuso ang paggamit nun at hindi ganyan nangyayari sa mukha ng mga artists. The artists look nice naman, I should say. Kaso di ko nakilala yung girls sa sobrang pagkaka-edit.
di naman siguro, there are people naman who prefer being brown. and bakit naman sya mapagiiwan, the girl can act naman. and she's charismatic thus her huge following. just saying. kathryn bernardo is already sikat even before she was daniel padilla's loveteam.
I think the cover lacked concept. Or if there was one, the editors and people behind the shoot failed to execute it. The artists were supposed to be young, fresh and the rising stars of their network. Unfortunately with the post production editing that they were made to look like botox-induced, la mer massaged faced-stars of yesteryears.
I watched the behind the scenes video of the shoot. The clothes and the make-up weren't that bad. The poses weren't that awkward as the photo above suggests.
yung face ni xian parang yung kay lady gaga na may parang horn sa cheekbones. si angelika dela cruz parang ahas lang na gumagapang . si kathryn parang may invisible neckbrace
xian is gwapo despite sa sobrang photoshop. jessy is pretty naman talaga kaya lang they overdid the editing. kathryn is the winner! ganda ni kathryn! i swear, natuwa ako kasi i can feel this girl has the unconverntional beauty.
kathryn looks beautiful but aged and her necks like that of a giraffe, jessys face seems to be reduced by half and xian lim looks so gaunt, are the creative people behind this shoot blind?
kathryn is the prettier than jessy. very common ang ganda ni jessy, na maputi because she's part-british. but with kathryn who's parents are both filipino, hirap machieve ng ganyang beauty na di nakaksaw, at maapreciate mo talaga how she carries her being morena.
if julia and kathryn are to be together on a high fashion shoot. you can see how differently they register on print. mas maapreciate mo ang pagkabronze ng skin ni kathryn, and how cute na she has fine features and petite stature. julia on the other side is pretty din naman, but her kind-of-pretty is something we see everyday thru bea alonzo, kristine hermosa,a and yes jessie mendiola. mapuputi andami na nila mashado, playing the usual rich, shy, soft-spoken, damsel in ditress. ugh we're tired!
Kathryn Bernardo is pretty yes but with Jessy Mendiola naman it's different because hers is classic yung kay julia naman nakakasawa pang kotrabida di pwede ihanay kena Jessy and Kristine who almost look alike si Bea may sarili lang syang beauty but there is something wron with her lower teeth. Si katryn kasi nagpatangos ng ilong si julia lang Jessy and Bea ang walang pinagawa.
DISLIKE! sobrang pinapayat yung mukha nila, tas si kathryn humaba yung leeg, hindi na nga proportioned yung katawan inedit pa ng ganito.. bakit ba nakapasa to as a cover?

ReplyDeleteI think the cover lacked concept. Or if there was one, the editors and people behind the shoot failed to execute it. The artists were supposed to be young, fresh and the rising stars of their network. Unfortunately with the post production editing that they were made to look like botox-induced, la mer massaged faced-stars of yesteryears.
ReplyDeleteI watched the behind the scenes video of the shoot. The clothes and the make-up weren't that bad. The poses weren't that awkward as the photo above suggests.

kathryn looks beautiful but aged and her necks like that of a giraffe, jessys face seems to be reduced by half and xian lim looks so gaunt, are the creative people behind this shoot blind?

kathryn is the prettier than jessy. very common ang ganda ni jessy, na maputi because she's part-british. but with kathryn who's parents are both filipino, hirap machieve ng ganyang beauty na di nakaksaw, at maapreciate mo talaga how she carries her being morena.

ReplyDeleteif julia and kathryn are to be together on a high fashion shoot. you can see how differently they register on print. mas maapreciate mo ang pagkabronze ng skin ni kathryn, and how cute na she has fine features and petite stature. julia on the other side is pretty din naman, but her kind-of-pretty is something we see everyday thru bea alonzo, kristine hermosa,a and yes jessie mendiola. mapuputi andami na nila mashado, playing the usual rich, shy, soft-spoken, damsel in ditress. ugh we're tired!

DeleteKathryn Bernardo is pretty yes but with Jessy Mendiola naman it's different because hers is classic yung kay julia naman nakakasawa pang kotrabida di pwede ihanay kena Jessy and Kristine who almost look alike si Bea may sarili lang syang beauty but there is something wron with her lower teeth. Si katryn kasi nagpatangos ng ilong si julia lang Jessy and Bea ang walang pinagawa.
