Controversy # 1
You may have heard that this action film got delayed because the film laboratory give priority to another competing film. To add insult to injury, the lead actress of this competing film took advantage of the situation and announced that some theaters decided to replace the action film with her film instead.
Controversy # 2
Is it true that this drama film was disqualifed for Best Picture, Best Director, Screenplay and Gatpuno Villegas Cultural Awards? The producers of this film only discovered the night before the awards show. They were stunned because the reason given to them was that their film had changed the cast and the script has been revised. I would imagine that all the other films went through similar changes, but why was this film singled out?

ReplyDeletejust watched the action film earlier.. kung kelan nagkakaroon ng pang-international na quality ng films sa MMFF, dun pa rin me problema. Do commercial-minded producers ask that much?

ReplyDeletemaganda naman yung action film. fernez, magandang example na umaayos at umuunlad film industry natin. di tulad ng ibang "comedy"/corny movies na porket mainstream lang yung mga actors eh kikita na kagad. wala naman sense minsan. :/
ReplyDeleteWe've heard of these things everywhere na but we understand that you're on vacay FP, kaya late na siguro nakakarating sa'yo ang mga issues here. I've watched na the 2ndhand movie, actually it's good naman. I just don't think doorbell deserves the award. I didn't like his acting in that movie, it felt shallow.

#1 I think si tindera ng bulaklak to. I heard considering na leading lady sya sa movie pinili pa rin nyang sumama sa float nung movie nya na santambak ang sikat na artista, yung movie ni Mother.
ReplyDelete#2 sabi sa nabasa ko, kaya naout ito kasi major editing ang ginawa sa cast at script pero yung cast lang ang inabiso nila sa committee pero yung changes sa script hindi.
#1. MK and the actress of the competing film who took advantage is one of the lead of 2nd-hand movie. i read an article about the delay that happened to MK, and i saw how the lead of 2nd-hand movie shamelessly promotes her film. (blech)
ReplyDelete#2. is YTT. i was able to watch an evening news show that interviews its producer mother callaLILY and she said na di na nya pinapunta yung mga artist nya para daw wala nang mapahiya. pati yung director. sabi pa nga nung director nagbigay raw sila ng notice sa revision, at syempre kaya may mga nabago kasi nagpalit sila ng artista so kailangan palitan yung character ng mas suit sa artista. parang ganun yung paliwanag nila.

Di na dapat blind item ang story number 2. Crying lady galore ang producer ng movie 2 nights ago. As for the first story, di ako magtataka kung si little sister iyan. Bakit walang story na ginapang diumano niya na magwaging Best Actor ang kanyang leading man sa second hand niyang pelikula?
ReplyDeleteMy son begged me to watched this action film from Tondo. I was surprised by the quality of this film, the editing, cinematography, etc... No wonder marami silang nakuhang award. The last tagalog movie i watched in a movie theater was in 1987 pa yata.
