ReplyDeleteI also travel a lot and I must say airport customs officers in Manila are anti-Filipino, so I can understand why she acted that way. I noticed that foreigners (Caucasians) are treated better than arriving Pinoys when it comes to checking their baggage stuff. Customs officials display this annoying "colonial mentality" everytime I see them.

ReplyDeleteWell maybe it's because the people at the customs are corrupt. She is not the first to rant and curse at them. A lot of people have been complaining about the customs. You can see stories about it in FB. One complainant even posted a photo of the corrupt official. The only reason why people are taking it against the actress is because she's a public figure. Don't be too hard on her, she's also human just like the rest of us. She has to fight for her rights.

ReplyDeleteI also think its A, gf of D. She mustve been very pissed with how she was treated. I can perfectly relate with that. Had my share of unpleasant encounters with people from customs. From the manner they ask questions, down to how they 'rob' passengers of imported stuff they find inside the baggage... irritating and truly frustrating, such treatment coming from a fellow Filipino. We really cant blame A in such instance.

eto lang masasabi ko: walang taong nagagalit out of hobby (unless buwang ka)... kapag ang tao nagalit, malamang sa malamang may rason yan... baka hinarass si A sa airport. let's cut her some slack. we all experience some bad customer service rin at some point in our lives and sometimes kahit ako di ko napipigilan ilabas frustration ko, lalo na kapag feel kong nabastos ako unnecessarily
ReplyDeleteif she acted irritably it is only because the Philippine Island(PI) customs are really one hell of an @$$, i know most of you will agree that nothing good can be seen in them. PI international airport charges terminal fee mounting to 200pesos and you cant expect a decent airport facilities yet other countries doesnt charge terminal fees presents extremely convenient airports.

They asked me to open my trolley cuz they saw a lot of perfume bottles, then they saw my hand carry which was an imported chips, the lady told me "pamasko nalang yan ma'am" ( despite august palang) eh naawa ako sa i gave, then after that they did not evwn inspected my baggage they asked me to close it cuz ok na raw! Oh diba that's corruption and bastos pa! So go go A!

ReplyDeleteShe may be tactless but don't judge her in this issue. Marami talagang mga taga-Customs and kurakot at haharassin ka pag alam nilang marami kang dala. Kung anu-ano ibibintang sayo. Pipilitin ka nilang magbayad ng mga fees na hindi mo naman kailangan bayaran. Pag marami kang biniling pasalubong, ipipilit nila na ibebenta mo yun dito. Basta mga ganun. May kumalat na sa Fb na about dyan and na-tackle na rin once yan ng mga pulitiko. Sana lang magawan ng paraan.

ReplyDeleteim an OFW, and i know how the customs are in Pinas. sobrang nakakahiya talga. alam mo yung parang iipitin ka and may ibang tao kasi na mas pinipili ang katahimikan kaya binibigay nlng mga hinihingi nila, pro meron din ibang palaban kaya natuturuan ang leksyon mga kababayan natin na mandurugas. i won't blame A here, okay lng yung ginawa nya. sana umabot to kay K na kapatid ni Mr.Pres pra maturuan ng leksyon mga opisyal na yan. pro in fairness, may matitino namn, pro ung mga iba talga sobra tlgang hindi nahihiya!

ReplyDeleteA person who probably have it wont even say it as they would not even bother talking about it. People who have "breeding" wont label the word as such.
I am not a fan of this girl, but I dont find her attitude bad. What is wrong in fighting for your boyfriend? What is wrong in being frank? Atleast she's not a hypocrite like most of the people who are in showbiz. Besides, probably the one who have not been in NAIA are those persons who find that her acting that way is odd. NAIA may it be 1, 2, or 3 has annoying customs personnel! They are not consistent with who they check and is really annoying that they want to open bags of passengers just to find whatever (WHEN THEY ARE UNDERMANNED). If they want to check passenger's bags, they should atleast NOT PINPOINT randomly -check everyone! And they should atleast be more than 10 if they plan on doing it- there are usually only 2!
Sorry but I will never sorry for NAIA Customs, corrupt talaga sila, gagawa at gagawa ng paraan para ma-"tax" ka. Eh wala naman resibo. Ang kakapal ng mukha

ReplyDeleteKo last Feb pag uwi ko nagpapalagay talaga mga customs sa NAIA. Sana baguhin nila ang system and renovate nila ang old airport

ReplyDeleteKilala ko na, pero siguro may dahilan sya why she Acted out in Public. She tweeted about "Corrupt" and "Bastos". Nakakaawa naman sya kasi lagi na lang sya na-B-BI dito. Didn't like her at first, but after following her on twitter, unti-unti ko na syang nagugustuhan, Palaban pero may Puso. ;)

I agree with 9:59am... These officials are extremely corrupt.. I have a bad experience with them as well. Humihingi ng lagay ng deretsahan. Sooo kapal! Hope they rot in hell! I don't blame A for acting that way. You go girl!

ReplyDeleteSo true! People in the customs have this bad reputation of being rude, treating their FELLOW Filipinos unfairly, and being too much of extortionists. So no wonder this angelic actress reacted in such a way.

Pag foreigner at mukhang madatung, all out smile yang mga yan, pag pinoy going on tour hahanapan nila ng paraan para ipitin. you would rather "lagay" kesa di kayo paalasin lalo na pag group kayo. my friends had the worst experience, but they didn't fall sa bait. and another one who has been asked by an immigration officer if may date na ba sya sa Valentine's at may ipapakilala sya. How unprofessional! kaya di tayo umaasenso. ang mga sinesueldohan natin na galing sa taxes natin mga bulok! eto pa, pag may kakilala kayo sa Immigration, tatatakan agad kayo.
ReplyDeleteBago kayo magjudge about customs, alamin nyo muna bakit sya nagsabi ng corrupt. Maybe may dala syang taxable items na dapat talagang bayaran which is hindi sya aware kaya sya nagwala. People must be informed about the Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines particularly section 100. Hindi po corruption ang pagbabayad ng buwis. Maaring may mga corrupt ngang tao sa customs pero wag nyong lahatin.

For the NAIA customs people, they should be given a dose of their own medicine...it is not enough to just curse them...really they're bunch of crocodiles waiting for some meat to be devoured...we should not blame the actress for behaving so because if i were in her shoes, i'll be doing more than what she did...
ReplyDeleteTalagang ganyan ang mga taga CUSTOM di na nakapagtataka kulang na lang hingin laman ng maleta mo. Diba nga the most corrupt sa customs, pulis at bir. Lahat kailangan may lagay tatakutin ka pa. Customary tradition na yan.

ReplyDeleteUnderstandable imo. The last time I was in that fugly airport may mga nakikita akong nag lalagay harap harapan. And I recently got charged a lot in customs fees when I had a small package delivered through a courier, mas mahal pa sa value ng package. Of course, the customs people (from NAIA) overstated the amount. Nakakaimbyerna.

ReplyDeletethe customs in Manila will never change! i came home last March and the lady whispered to me while holding my passport "mam baka naman po may pang christmas kayo samin?" WTF! Christmas in MARCH??? I told her "sa Christmas ko na lang po kayo bibigyan sa DECEMBER kasi MARCH pa lang po ngayon" good thing she gave my passport back before i told her that otherwise she might hold it hostage in exchange for her Christmas gift grrrhhhhhh
