Know what since I am just barely 3 years in Canada I didn't expect that Bench is really popular here, they even considered it as branded and take note it's really expensive like 100+ cad for a sweater, holy crap! unlike in pinas I considered it as "masa". When I went home early this year some of my co-worker even asked me to buy something for them,of course I am so willing to do that since I will earn an extra money from that hahaha. proud to be pinoy :)

Bench Canada is not the same brand as Ben Chan's Bench. I did a quick search online and here's what i got:

the bench outside the philippines is a uk based brand that has been existing since the 80's. it is different to the bench that we know of in the philippines. i am surprised there has been no lawsuit on copyright.

ReplyDeleteI watched this na. Bitin naman. Hindi man lang nabanggit ang Bench. Goergina had a dialoge with a model mga 4 seconds lang ata. Saw Ben Chan mga 1 second. Si Michale Cinco ang madamng exposure.

ReplyDeleteIMO, mas nabigyan siguro ng mas magandang exposure yung brand had they been given/chose another episode. The theme in this episode was Greek (the gowns designed by Michael Cinco, the Greek salad photoshoot..) parang medyo off nga if they promoted a Filipino brand & model. Sayang lang, kasi aside from us Pinoys, nobody else knows the brand. A brand mention and a brief background about it would've helped. Again, this is just my humble opinion. I'm not being nega/hater. Still glad about this international exposure of a Pinoy brand.

Hindi po sya copyright..it applies sa tulad ng music, literary works, software and the like. Trademark Infringement po, if ever may merit ang case, ang magiging violation.
All I can say is Georgina's photo is photshopped! pawahaha para maiba lang! Di nmn sya ganyan kapayat in person! Trust me! :)

ReplyDeleteI was surprised when I saw bench body products on their last episode. Some models were confused if it's a swimsuit or underwear coz it looks the same. Natuwa naman sila, kasi cool daw yung designs. Probably yan yung reason why Nigel Barker and Mrs J were here in Pinas early this year. :)

One of the shows producers, Michael Carandang, is a Fil-Am. Last cycle, they worked with Michael Cinco for the landfill couture, and the later recommended Bench for this shoot (he was previously one of the designers for their annual underwear show).
I was excited to watch this to see georgina wilson coz she made it look on twitter that todo mega guest sha sa ANTM.. wala lang.. got disappointed... she even tweeted na parang she had to be or look taray.. eh wala naman.. na edit ata... I'm happy pinoys are out there.. pero wag sana O.A .. mejo hinype nya mashado sarili nya. I'm not being a hater.. I was just expecting more lang coz of twitter.. oh well congrats Bench. :) All is well. Pinoys are proud of all of you.

georgina's pose here is so not fierce. her look here does not level up to the hype she and her bench family created. maybe they did not expect to get edited out so much from the episode? and i so do not believe the hype i read in one of the brand's tweets. according to them, the ANTM crew thought georgina was an international model? well, if that's what you aspire to be - tone up girl!
ReplyDeleteI think, when Bench and Georgina tweeted about their exposure sa ANTM, - they based it sa mga unedited shots, takes nila sa show. But of course sa actual episode (syempre limited lang naman ang timeslot), talagang most likely ma-eedit ang mga shots - thus sa final outcome the very short exposure of Georgina. Just my 2 cents.

ReplyDeletedi ako fan ni georgina, pero in all fairness naman siguro, she had more exposure than what was shown naman only that they were edited/cut. she probably didnt knew na madaming na cut sa mga scenes nya kaya sya super excited sa twitter. or kung alam nya man, eh excited lang talaga sya to tell the whole world about it kesehodang 5secs lang ang exposure nya. after all, it's not every episode that you see someone from the Philippines in ANTM, noh. kalurkey naman mga haters!
ReplyDeleteStylist? There wasn't even much style in that photo shoot. The models were asked to wear underwears, yun lang(which, in fairness, look nice naman, it almost looks like a bathing suit), buti sana kung ginawang mala-Victoria's Secret na may wings, or kung anu ano pa na design na ginawa, kahit nga sarong sana e.
ReplyDeleteI'm not doubting Georgina's skills as a stylist, maybe she's good (i haven't seen her work though), but i think the exposure, as well as the task she supposedly had done, was overhyped. Much ado over a 5sec exposure.
And that photo looks too plain. It doesn't even look like she's in Greece, a studio set up can do that effect. Sana man lang she was brought to one of the more famous tourist spots na associated to Greece, like the Parthenon or something, and she was portrayed as Athena, one of the Greek goddess...(oo na, ako na daw ang pakialamera masyado. hahaha! sayang kasi e!)
But still, good job Bench & Georgina (who looked gorgeous even if she's not that made up, she's more beautiful than the contestants! I guess kaya onti lang yung exposure na binigay sa kanya, kakabugin niya ng bonggang bongga yung mga all star contestants :P)
Hopefully next time, better exposure na. :)

ReplyDeleteI think Georgina shouldn't have made such a big deal about the the whole ANTM thing considering the amount of exposure she had on the show. It would have been better if she kept mum about it instead and surprised everyone once the episode aired. I agree with the other readers who claim that her presence on the show was over hyped. As for Bench and Michael Cinco, they definitely make any Filipino proud! More power to them.
ReplyDeletenapanood ko na ang episode na'to....nakakatuwa....kaabang abang tuloy ang finale gowns ng magiging top 2......at ang gaganda ng photoshoot, sana lng naging guest judge din si Mr. Bench Chan since ung brand/product nya ang ginamit sa shoot.....sana rin gawan nila ng ads sa mga stores nila (since hndi na un pasado sa mga billboards) ang photoshoots ng antm models......kung pagbabasehan ay "underwear that looks like swimsuit" mas bet ko ung photo ni Lisa D'Amato...

It really looked like BENCH natin..Napaisip pa nga ako and said to myself "Oh Wow!!!" astig.. tapos yun pala yun Bench. UK pala. I didnt buy kasi kahit dito hindi ako bumibili dun pa.. Bench Philippines does not appeal to me na kasi sa age bracket ko.. ahahaha.. The cost however by UK standards was not mahal.

It's so funny how people think Georgina's appearance on ANTM is a huge thing. Come on! it's ANTM. I know Filipino's LOOVEE the show but Americans don't. Reality Check sweetie NEITHER ANTM NOR Tyra Banks is influential in the fashion biz. Hello? It's freaking reality TV. People here in America thinks its pathetic. (Except for Tyra's fans though). Without Andre Leon Talley, ANTM would be a complete crappy show. So to Chorchina and her "socialite" bffs (eww), stop tweeting as if she starred Chanel's newest ad campaign or as if she opened Jean Paul Gaultier. Think before you click. Start a hype if she's doing Givenchy.
