Remember My Damaged Rimowa Luggage?

Do you remember my Rimowa luggage that was damaged when I went to Europe last month? I just came back from the Qatar Airways office in NAIA to pick up 400 USD in exchange for the damaged luggage. That's what you call customer service. I love Qatar Airways!

  11. well, what if you weren't in business class and you're not a blogger, do you think they would still pay for your damaged luggage? i doubt it!

  12. You can try to ask Rimowa to replace your luggage since it's under warranty.

  13. OK people, warranty is for DAMAGED / DEFECTS by manufacturer , not for normal wear and tear, and QATAR only gave you a refund since you initiated a bad PR ( and on this Fashion pulis IS WRONG )---- LUGGAGE are meant to protect THE CONTENTS ( INSIDE ), IT is not intended as an EYE CANDY to show off as status symbol- ergo, any scratches/ dents are expected and again ergo , IS NOT the responsibility of the airline company----- SHOW THIS TO a lawyer , i doubt he will disagree with what i said

  14. My darlings, kahit ordinaryong mamamayan ka, if you are entitled to such refunds if it's included in the airline policy. Magbasa kasi ng T& C's ng itineraries imbis na kainggitan si FP. Good thing they did a good thing.

  15. FP, what do you mean by "in exchange"? You mean you had to give them your luggage when you took the money? Parang lugi ka pag ganun. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't a rimowa luggage that size cost way more than 400 usd? It can be repaired naman..

  16. I had a bad experience with Qatar Airways. Last October 2009, my officemate and I were bound to Trieste, Italy for a conference. Our flight was supposed to leave around 5pm, but we were informed it will be delayed, no exact time was given, we were just told to wait. Finally we boarded the plane at 2am. The cause of the delay is airline fault not our local airport nor the weather. We were at NAIA as early as 2pm to catch the 5pm flight because of the 3hr before the flight policy, so imagine how long we waited at NAIA, que horror with the kind of seats we have there and we were also asked to moved twice or thrice on different departure gates. They only given us sandwiches for evening meal! When we finally boarded the plane we thought that's the end of our problem because the Qatar Airline said they will take care of everything, including our connecting flight from Rome to Trieste. So when we landed at Doha for the transit, my officemate and I got separated, I was ask immediately to board the plane to Tunis to Rome, while my friend will board a later flight to Zurich to Rome. My officemate and I signalled each other to text each other hoping the roaming will work against the different timezone. Finally arriving in Rome, I went directly to the counter for transfer and the airline I'm supposed to board, they told me that I missed my flight (I'm 6 hour late yata) and they will not honor my ticket. And if I want to go to Trieste I have to buy a new one which is around 180 euro!!! I waited for my officemate who arrived 2 hours later (10pm). We talked about our dillema and decided to sleep (again) at the Airport (Rome this time), wait (and buy a new ticket) for the next plane to Trieste which 9am in the morning. The Qatar office in the airport is closed at that time and they will open the next evening pa, so no luck for them answer my need. We didn't hear from Qatar Airline after that.

    So FP you're lucky.

  17. rimowa has warranty , damaged or loss ... thats why you have to copy the serial number of the luggage itself ... yes, serial number is stamped in the luggage for those who are not familiar with the brand lol .. peace!

  18. To Anonymous 9/18, 4:05am:

FP's Rimowa was a new one when it got damaged on that trip months ago. He DESERVED the money from the airline company. I doubt that slight mishandling would result in that big a dent. Regardless of whether he initiated a bad press release on what happened, he deserved compensation for damage to property.

  20. After flying on Qatar Airways for 100's of thousands of miles, they have made simply too many errors. I have went from believing that Qatar Airways to be one of the best in the world to one of the worse. They have lost their way. Avoid flying with them.
