This Hermes Fuchsia Crocodile Birkin looks genuine to the untrained eye. Since it would be next to impossible to get something like this from the Hermes store, a collector bought this from an online bag reseller (begins with the letter L) for 2.5 million pesos. She almost had a heart attack when an Hermes aficionado told her that this bag was fake.
Here are some pointers on how to spot a fake Hermes Bag:
- Study the hardware. Hermes bags have a covering to protect the hardware, which the store does not remove until you purchase the bag. The hardware is solid, not hollow. The logo, a carriage and horse, is engraved on the hardware. Hermes engraving means the letters or design is lower than the surface, not raised above the surface.
- Examine the stitching. An authentic bag will have straight, even stitches and no loose threads. Also, the thread will match the bag, a sign that Hermes bags are quality workmanship.
- Look at the front face of the bag. The name "Hermes Paris, Made in France" is always stamped on the front face.
- Look for the date the bag was manufactured. The artisan's mark and the year the bag was manufactured are stamped beneath the right belt.
- Check the inside of the bag. Hermes bags do not have a metal nameplate. Also, examine the leather carefully. Hermes bags are made of the finest leather. It will not have defects.
- To understand the quality and workmanship of a Hermes bag, go to a Hermes boutique and examine the handbags. Look at the quality of the lining, feel the purity of the leather, and pay attention to the elegant, understated details. Once you have seen an authentic bag, you will be able to spot a fake Hermes.
I would think that part of the experience of buying such an expensive bag is going to the store and the excitement of purchasing it yourself. I'm not sure if they bought this used but at that price, I wouldnt risk buying anything except in the stores itself. I hope this person gets her money back.
ReplyDeleteBa't di sya bumili sa store? Naman naman. Ang utak nasaan?
ReplyDeleteIt’s not available in the Hermes store. There is a waitlist for such a bag. Abot six months. Antayan unless you are a celebrity or top client.
Deleteyikes!
ReplyDeleteOmg I doubt you get your money back. Kaliwaan ba bayad niyo? If oo malamang naglaho na yung seller parang bula with your money. Please be careful next time.
ReplyDeleteSus mio!
ReplyDeleteIf you're willing to spend for something THAT expensive, why go to a reseller? =S
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of odd kung ang reason for going to the reseller is para maka-bargain (since resellers tend to sell for less). Doesn't make sense.
I hope she gets her money back though. I know how it feels to be scammed. I've been a victim of an online seller before.
Hi i hope you really thoroughly read the article, the said buyer was looking for Hermes which are hard to find thus the buyer was a collector for rares. Meaning, it is hard to get one even from an authorized outlet.
Deletekalurkey. kung ganyan ako kayaman bibili din kaya ako ng bag worth 2.5 million? i dunno ha, but most definitely not! especially not OUTSIDE a store. goodluck ng bonggang bongga sa paghahabol sa reseller.
ReplyDeleteWho's the seller?? Clues please!
ReplyDeletepics pa lang kaduda-duda na eh.. what more kaya if makita mo ang bag ng malapitan... if you have genuine luxury bags, you can tell na din naman if it's finely made or not.. even if ibang brand yun meron ka..
ReplyDeleteI find it quite sad that amidst all the poverty in the country, one can shell out 2.5M for a bag. Its definitely a beautiful and breathtaking bag but when you think about people who can't even afford a cup of rice, having a bag worth millions can actually be quite disturbing.
ReplyDeleteI do hope she gets her hard-earned money back. Nobody esp those who exercised good faith deserves something that unfortunate.
I am curious and happen to have the "untrained eyes", how did they spot that it's fake? Pointers please, FP. Although I know I'll never buy one, additional knowledge man lang haha! Thanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteIf I'm going to shell out 2.5M for a bag, I would want the whole luxury experience to go with it. Which means buying it directly at the store. Why can people have so much money and so little brains...
ReplyDeleteIt’s a rare bag! Hard to find in the stores.
DeletePoor girl! Heard so many sad stories like this! Buying Hermes bags from stores is not as easy as it sounds.. Cuz believe it or not before new bags hit the shelves naka reserve na sila and the waiting list is loooooooong! That's why alot of people buy it from re-sellers! Hermes is not like LV na madami stock, that's what make it super expensive. They only make a few bags and it's hard to buy exactly what u want if ur gonna wait for the store to have it. I sell bags but when it cOmes to expensive bags like this I have it authenticated before I buy or sell. It's an additional expense (5,000 pesos) but it's worth it! Poor girl, Sana u made sure it was real before buying it I hope this is a lesson for everyone.
ReplyDelete"I sell bags but when it cOmes to expensive bags like this I have it authenticated before I buy or sell. It's an additional expense (5,000 pesos) but it's worth it!"
Deletehow do u do this? which kind of bag. :)
May Hermes naman sa Greenbelt 3. Sayang, dun na lang sana siya bumili.
ReplyDeleteBecause Birkens and kellys are hard to come buy. Those bags are only offered to choosen few. Lol. No, kidding aside, you need to buold a relationship with an SA which means you need to buy other luxury items before you are important enough to be offered one. And madalang. They don't do reservations as well.
DeleteBaka naman etching lang ni gurl na 2.5m un baka she bought a quadruple class and pretended its real and if fooling failed, she can easily say she bought it onlIne. Come on naman.. Who would buy a 2.5M item without any proof of credibility ng seller? Anu un door to door or meet up? Buti pa pagbili ng auto kahit segunda mano you have to gather all the info of the seller.. I think nman khit sinong may plano bumili ng birkin they would think twice Kung how credible this seller is.. Duh!
ReplyDelete2.5M could have sent hundreds of kids to school.
ReplyDeleteLocal o hindi ang reseller?
ReplyDeleteOh my God! Does this seller have facebook account? If yes, gosh the letter L is a giveaway!!!
ReplyDeletePoor buyer, She deserves to have her money back. That seller should be named para wala ng ibang ma biktima...DISTURBING.
labo ng story, Hermes "collector" daw yung bumili ... so she should know how a real hermes bag feels, smells, etc.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous 1:12
ReplyDeleteBelieve me when I say there are many Triple A copies. Extremely hard to tell.
I don't believe for a second she got the bag for 2.5 million. First off, if you can afford to shell out that amount, I'm positive she has other bags that are of fine quality. She would be able to spot the Birkin as fake the moment she inspects it.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to spot a super fake.
DeleteOMG. This reseller has a FB account right? Sabi ko na eh. The reseller sells luxury handbags such as Hermes, LV and Chanel. :)
ReplyDeleteHow much is the original price ba? Hindi ba around $40k yan?
ReplyDeleteOMG if this reseller is in FB! I have one reseller na FB friend ko whose store name starts with L (2 words) and yung isa FB page (3 words). They both start with letter L. Sana hindi sila :))
ReplyDeleteAnyway baka nga "established" online reseller ito kaya madali magtrust lalo na if you see excellent feedbacks. Kaya people let's not judge the buyer and wish her luck nalang na maibalik sa kanya yung money.
i hope the tips FP gave will not be used by those who produce the fake versions hehe
ReplyDeleteIMHO, sayang nman ang positive feedbacks ng reseller at oras kun sisirain lng nya in just 1 transaction? Halo halo.. For the buyer lesson learned next time dont be a hoarder di yan effective in our world class country lmao.
Or ask her friends who travel a lot to buy it for her. Why buy online from a reseller? Too risky. tsk, tsk.
--mall rat
ayan kasi ang mga Pinoy mahilig magpa sosyal, kung hindi kayo afford ng original don't bother, not all people can have Hermes, wake up social climbing peeps!
ReplyDeleteDami na ng fake Hermes bags. And a lot of these women and "men" strut it around like they've hit the jackpot trying to impress everyone.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a bag..whatever the price is. I think spending 2.5 mill. On a bag real or fake is already a sin. (and I'm not even a practiing Catholic!).
Violetta
ReplyDeletei hope FP can give us more clues on reseller "L", if not naman for the reason to avoid the reseller (because obviously, hardly anyone of us can shell out 2.5M for a bag), at least the public will be made aware of the reseller's dishonest dealings.
ReplyDeleteI hate to be so critical but I agree with some of the posters...its atrocious that people are willing to spend that much on a bag. And pangit naman, ke tunay or hindi. That color is cute for barbie cars but not for an expensive purse. Sana that person who was willing to spen 2.5 million on a bag also gave 2.5 million sa charity para may social justice.
ReplyDeleteOMG!
ReplyDeleteIf that she gets her money back, it think it would be wise to share it to charity, or help starving people in this country. What happened to her is what you call KARMA. Karma for spending all that money for a bag when a lot of her kababayans don't have enough to buy food. My 2 cents.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested with the buyer! Sinetch itech! Loser! Ang junga lang ah. Wawa naman. Da who din ang seller? Bwahaha
ReplyDeletemore clues re the reseller pls... maybe the reseller isn't aware that it is fake since it is a very good copy. Yes i would have to agree that it is sometimes impossible to get these bags instore. Lalo na if you're eyeing a certain color and material/size/hware. anyhow, i hope she's able to get get back her money and the reseller also.

- I dont think its "kababawan" to buy a 2.5 m Hermes bag. Its a privilege, which, sadly, you dont have. what you're feeling is just envy and bitterness.
To people who plans to buy designer hand bags, bumili sa store nila. they have sales naman eh..
hindi nagsesale sa hermes or sa LV and most other high end designer brands.
DeleteWala pong sales sa hermes, LV and channel lol!
Deleteobvious na FAKE! mukhang galing divisoria or school project lang! for a knock off negative quadruple A sha kung meron man non! did they meet up for the delivery? if you're going to spend millions, if you cant get it from the store itself, you should go to a reputable online store.
ReplyDeleteXONie
for those who don't know, crocodile birkins are difficult to obtain. there's a 3yr waiting list so ladies resort to resellers. even if you have the money, hermes store will still put your name on the list and won't sell you a crocodile upfront.
ReplyDeleteLets be fair to the buyer. To say na she should donate it to charity n lng instead of buying. Its her privilege nmn to buy kung may pambili cya. And since we don't know her, we don't know if she's already donating to charity. So don't be harsh on her.
ReplyDeleteFP PLEASE feature also on HOW TO SPOT AUTHENTIC LOUIS VUITTON BAGS. I would like to read it formyself. Thank you.

--AGREE!!
siguro relative nung buyer is a politician or government official. hehe
ReplyDeletebakya
Croc Birkins are hard to obtain. The waiting list is fairly long just to have a chance to get one, no guarantees pa yan. Kaya its understandable why collectors resort to buying second hand ones from resellers especially for Limited Edition ones and stuff like that.
ReplyDeleteCome on people, if you have millions of cash in your bank account, sige, billions pa at your own disposal, will you donate everything to the charity para lang masabi mo na patas ka sa mga taong walang makain?
People buy stuff at their own call. If they have money to do so, anong masama? Kahit nga 10M worth na bag pa nga yan, wala tayong magagawa, people have money because they work hard for it.
Be rational, people.
Just my 2 cents worth.
i have a 'friend' who 'buys and sells' birkins din.. and he/she fooled all of us actually that they are all real.. im not that rich.. but i can definitely afford expensive useful things like gadgets and stuff like that.. but maybe if i have that extra extra money to spend.. i will definitely indulge myself as well.. but i just hate social climbers so much.. they would pretend to be so effing rich.. but will resort to stealing and fooling people just so they can sustain a lifestyle.. just like this 'friend' of mine.. he/she struts like he's/she's above all of us just so he/she can 'afford' these stuff.. when they're all fake.. and yes they are exact replicas.. and yes they exist.. not the greenhills type replica.. but really exact replicas.. so i hope these people who are fooled by social climbers who sells these bags will think twice before buying something instead of being excited that it's available from these resellers.. i hope we'll have a rule soon to jail these people or confiscate the stuff they sell.. same with pirated dvds..
ReplyDeleteAgree with Anonymous 1:04pm
ReplyDeleteAng daming malilinis dito che!
I am not saying all Filipino millionaires should spend their money to help a charity or the poor. All I am saying is, if she gets her money back, wouldn't it be better if instead of buying a second hand bag that's worth millions, she should give something for the less fortunate? We all have our 2 cents on the matter, and each of our opinions have points. Don't go commenting as if yung opinion mo ang tama. Even if they can, they shouldn't donate to charity? CHILL!!!
ReplyDeleteRelax guys. Everyone makes their own money. If they have the means to get Birkins, lalo na if they got the money through honest ways, then it shouldn't be a problem diba?
ReplyDeleteRe the bag, I hope she gets her money back. Sayang naman ang 2.5M mo girl! But yes a fuchsia Birkin is super worth your money if you ask me. :>
ReplyDeletei soooo agree! some people really work hard for what they have. and they share their blessings din naman, lalo na yung mga blessed ng millions.
ReplyDeleteCompletely and 100% agree with Anonymous 1:04 pm.
ReplyDeleteI got my phone stolen from me a few months ago, and if someone told me, "sana dinonate mo na lang yung pera sa charity imbis na bumili ka ng iPhone since mananakaw naman pala". Asan 'yung logic dun?!?!?!
What happened daw was "Karma for spending all that money for a bag when a lot of her kababayans don't have enough to buy food." But that would make us all guilty, right? For spending money on iPads, Blackberries, milk teas, books, movies, etc.? Basically spending money on things we don't need, the cost of which could feed/educate/clothe the less fortunate.
Grabe ang mga tao dito. Akala mo kung sinong mga anghel. For me, pwede lang mamintas dito kung:
1.) nagbibigay ka rin sa charity ng perang dapat sana igagastos mo sa luho mo
2.) sigurado ka na the Hermes buyer DOESN'T donate to charity.
So, meron bang nakakameet ng 2 requirement na to? Ako mismo aamin, I don't meet the criteria. So I won't judge the lady and will wish for her to get her money back.
Buti nga sa kanya!
ReplyDeleteAt bakit hindi sha kay DR nagpahanap?!?!?!?!? That's like the next best thing if you cant wait and get your h from store itself. if i had all that money, i'd rather wait for DR's goodies... :D
ReplyDeleteXONie
The 2.5M purchase would not have been known if it were not for FP's blind item, so I don't think it's fair to criticize the buyer for such a purchase. If it were an ostentatious display of wealth, sure, maybe the criticisms are understandable since ours is a 3rd world country where extravagance in the midst of poverty merits a frown, but this case isn't like that at all. I'm definitely not part of the 1% in this country who can live comfortably the rest of their lives without breaking their backs, but I don't have to be one to know that we should learn how to live and let live.
ReplyDeletei think most of the people who commented on this BI are missing the point - may nangloko ok? why are does it seem like as if the buyer deserved to be duped?
ReplyDeleteanyway, who's this seller ba? clues pls!
I didn't know that "L" sells fake bags... kawawa nman ung buyer ng 2.5M...
ReplyDeletesorry, mistyped:
ReplyDeletei think most of the people who commented on this BI are missing the point - may nangloko ok? why does it seem like as if the buyer deserved to be duped? eh sa inyo kaya mangyari? and why do you care how the buyer spends her money?
Next BI pls...
ReplyDeleteBilyonarya
the whole point of the story is, BUYER BEWARE. there are a lot of scrupulous online sellers out there. simple as that. why blow the whole post out of proportion? bad karma? charitable donations? rich getting richer & poor getting poorer? para na tuloy na-invade ng CBCP! wadaheck?
ReplyDelete2.5M at dumaan siya sa internet? Friend mo ba yan FP?
And besides, by the looks of the bag, parang hindi man lang Triple A yan!

September 26, 2011 12:41 AM
@anonymous above: i couldn't have said it any better. 95% of this poor poor third world nation's population would never in their lifetime get a hold of 2.5 million pesos. sad!
I think there's confusion with regard to the meaning of KARMA. Some who mentioned karma i think actually meant, na bad karma sya, so in return, do something na may good karma. Not necessarily nakarma yung bumili because she did something bad.
ReplyDeleteThe point here is niloko siya and typical inggiteros will says serves her right, buti nga sa kanya etc. kung kayo kaya maloko masasabi mo ba yun?
wag magmalinis!
what made this birkin fake? please elaborate. thanks.
ReplyDeleteI super agree with Anonymous September 26, 2011 3:16 PM.
ReplyDeleteSa mga taong nagsasabi na sana dinonate nalang nya sa charity or she deserves it for spending all that money on an expensive bag, PWEDE BA, take a look at yourselves before criticizing other people! Your arguments can be applied to your own little luxuries -- even if YOU haven't spent 2.5M on a designer handbag, eh yung mga araw na araw na Starbucks ninyo?! Yung mga ginagastos nyo bawat weekend pag gumimik kayo? Don't you know, your money could have been spent feeding hungry children?!
Jusko! Tsk tsk!! (Sorry ha, napa-off topic ako.)
NOBODY deserves to be taken advantage of. NOBODY deserves to be cheated. Yun yung point ng story nito.
Anyway, it's a good thing she got her money back. Pero you can't really trust online resellers, especially for something like a designer handbag. I know someone else who got duped -- the prices were similar to store prices, but when she got it, she knew right away it was a fake. Buti nalang she was able to get a refund. I agree with what some of the people here are saying -- if you have the money anyway to pay for a designer handbag, then just go somewhere reputable.
Sad naman. Sa hirap ng buhay ngayon daming manloloko. I feel bad for her lalo pa I own expensive bags. Oh well sana mahuli pa ung nanloko.
ReplyDeleteKited ng utak ng iba. We should not judge her.
ReplyDeleteHow did u know naman na wala Shang charity work d ba. Let's just hope mabawi Nya pa.
from the pictures, obvious naman na fake... this buyer doesn't know the value of money... pero naman, you were able to shell out 2.5M and yet you do not know what you bought is not that worth? hello? o baka echos lang na 2.5M yan? you have that spare amount of money for an expensive bag and yet you don't even have 1cent of your brain to distinguish one?! Gosh!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know, owning an expensive bag doesnt raise the social status at all, I know its a Hermes, but its just a bag..some people try to keep up with the Joneses, my gosh baka inutang pa niya yung 2.5 mil to buy that bag..well, i just hope that she gets her money back, Pronto!
ReplyDeleteto Anonymous September 26, 2011 5:39 PM FYI: Masyado kang madaming sinasabi, akala mo alam mo lahat... the Bag was paid in cash personally to the online seller. The online seller is not used to seeing good fakes. The buyer isn't also that aware of a good fake. Before, those kinds of fakes doesn't exist. Only "bad replicas" do exist. Only a friend who is an Hermes expert (who handles Hermes bags every single minute) gave them the idea that it is a fake, but as he has said, it is such a good fake that even collectors may be fooled easily.
Yan Ang may karma, Ang manloloko talaga!
Or let's say cash on delivery to prove that the bag is authentic? There is always a way to authenticate bags depende na lang yan sa approach mo sa sales staff ng Hermes. People change and nothing's permanent in this world kaya dapat parating ready. Hayyy hirap talaga pag madaming pera hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteIt's alright to buy a 2.5m bag if you have a lot to spare. My point here is she should go to the boutique instead of the reseller. I wouldn't buy from a reseller really, if it's really that hard to get one, then i'll wait, though not all the resellers are crooks. I
ReplyDeleteWait. The money was returned to her na?
ReplyDeleteThank goodness, yes it was. Poor reseller. She sold in good faith now she is stuck with a fake AAA.
Deletesana kung bibili lang din siya ng 2.5 worth of hermes bag.. nagpawaiting list nalang sana siya atleast doon may guarantee unlike the reseller... i find the buyer so stupid! where's your brain??? miracle nalang if you get your money back!
ReplyDeleteWaiting can take up to 3 years. Some Never hear from Hermes again. For an avid collector this is agony.
DeleteOh she got her money back.
DeleteAll I wish for this girl is for her to be able to get hrer money back!! It's her hard earned money and she deserved to buy what she wants...after all it's her money..what she do or did with her money is not our business anymore:)
ReplyDeleteobviously, some commenters here dont know what they are talking about. even if you ask the HERMES SAs to put you in the waiting list, that doesnt guarantee you that you would get one. Thats the reason why bag collectors still search online stores or bag retailers for styles they want to acquire because being in the waiting list doesnt guarantee you anything, aside from the fact that you can possibly get one IF may dumating na stock for that certain style or color.
ReplyDeletebring 20 million and walk inside Hermes in greenbelt, I would guarantee you you cant take home not even 1 hermes croc birkin even if you tell them you are going to pay 20m for a bag instead of the SRP. Thats what waiting lists are for. Hindi naman kasi to kagaya ng mga Secosana bags (no offense meant) na halos unlimited ang stocks ng tindahan.
and why call the person stupid? for believing the seller? If you buy from an established seller, would you actually doubt rightaway if what he/she is selling are fakes? I dont think so. Lets take note that the seller in question for this case is LEGIT and ESTABLISHED in the bag reselling industry.
Its like buying something from Rustans, and later on you found out that you got a fake item, umpisa pa lang you wouldnt doubt because you are confident sa reputation ng seller eh.
Whoever committed the deceit - whether its bag reseller's supplier or bag reseller herself, then thats one thing they should figure out.
Its hard to tell if a bag is fake especially when you just base it on pictures. It takes a trained eye and close inspection for one to tell if a bag is fake or not. Online pictures can be deceiving. They can post a picture of a real one and send you a fake.
What the buyer does to her money is none of our business at all. Yeah, even if she chooses to spend a million bucks per day just to shop around, then to hell with that, good for her she has all the money at her own disposal.
Now since kaso since there was deceit involved in their transaction, I hope Hermes Collector gets her money back.
Yes, she got her money back, peeps! Now let's all move on!

ReplyDeleteFunny naman to say na walang nagsabi na masamang bumili ng mamahalin ang mayayaman pero it was actually you who said na bad karma yung nangyari sa kanya. :D
Here Oh : " Tin said...
If that she gets her money back, it think it would be wise to share it to charity, or help starving people in this country. What happened to her is what you call KARMA. Karma for spending all that money for a bag when a lot of her kababayans don't have enough to buy food. My 2 cents.

Which contradicts with your 2nd statement :
" Tin said...
I am not saying all Filipino millionaires should spend their money to help a charity or the poor. All I am saying is, if she gets her money back, wouldn't it be better if instead of buying a second hand bag that's worth millions, she should give something for the less fortunate? CHILL!!!
September 26, 2011 2:01 PM "
Do you know the person, for you to conclude that she doesnt donate to charities kaya sya nagkaron ng bad karma? (take note, you were specific pa when you said this. bad karma kung bad karma talaga. LOL
Im sorry but the idea is just plainly pathetic. Its so unbecoming to say that people shouldnt comment as if theyre the only persons who are right about this, samantalang ikaw mismo nagsasalita as if you are 100% sure that the Hermes Collector doesnt do charity work apart from collecting Hermes Bags.
You get the idea now? Everyone has something to say about this, and we should respect that, pero sana minsan bago magcomment pinagiisipan muna ang sasabihin. Whats up with that? And bad karma for what? Bad karma for spending? Then maybe you should get bad karma too for having the chance to eat more or less 3x a day when some of the less fortunate cant even eat a single decent meal in a day.
Where is the effin logic? You actually failed to look at the angle of deceit. Naloko ng seller ang buyer ng Birkin. You still call that karma? So its good as saying "Ay, naloko ka nung seller? Buti nga, ang gastos mo kasi eh". WTF?!
Anonymous at September 27, 2011 2:18 PM
ReplyDeleteThats good to hear. I wonder kung anong gagawin ni Bag Reseller L with the fake Birkin, baka mamaya naloko lang rin sya nung nagsupply sa kanya. There are a lot of replicas that are close to the original ones na kasi kaya its hard to identify narin. There are fakes being sold at almost a hundred grand just because it looks really similar to the real ones. yun nga lang pag ininspect mo talaga the stitching and the interiors, halatang halata rin talaga na peke.
Anyway, God bless those who judge other people because of the money they spend. :D
Thats all. :D
Kanya-kanyang saya lang naman yan e. At saka kelan ba naging patas ang mundo?
ReplyDelete@ I am September 26, 2011 1:04 PM
ReplyDeletewe have our own opinions ok????? still, the buyer should have used her brain in dealing with this kind of circumstances especially that it involves a very large amount of money.. she should have been wiser! that's all!!!!
ReplyDeleteI say, what is the seller's name? People should know para wala na syang maloko
ReplyDeleteand ain't it only right that her online store & her own NAME be exposed?
Sa mga avid shoppers online, be very cautious..

"I dont think its "kababawan" to buy a 2.5 m Hermes bag. Its a privilege, which, sadly, you dont have. what you're feeling is just envy and bitterness."
ReplyDeleteHahaha. What I feel is not envy or bitterness, but intellectual superiority. I don't have that much money to throw away, but I have a brain, something which you and the buyer don't seem to have. I'm not one of the commenters who wanted her to give the money to charity. If she worked hard for it, then she should enjoy her money. I just find it ridiculous that a lot of socialites and wannabes throw away millions for a name. For designer bags and clothes, the bulk of what you're paying is the name, not the materials, not the craftsmanship. JUST THE FRICKIN' NAME. Get it? If the buyer wanted to buy an expensive but practical item, then I would have been supportive.
Gee, this girl doesn't know what she is talking about. Hermes is ALL about quality and craftsmanship. Alam mo ba na may Birkin nga ako na 12 years old na pero maganda pa. It's not just the name.
ReplyDelete@ Anonymous September 27, 2011 6:36 PM
ReplyDeleteHave to agree with you, my first birkin is over a decade old, my lola got this late 1990s, the bag shows a little wear but it looks fine padin. Funny why there are claims that expensive stuff is just all about the name and not the quality or craftsmanship.
Just to emphasize, people are not stupid to shell out that much moolah for a real birkin if the quality isnt worth the pricetag or if the quality is just the same as bags from cheaper brands.
Its like driving a benz which isnt comparable to having a kia or a toyota. No offense meant. But if each of us here have billions in your bank account, magsesettle ka pa ba sa mumurahin na bag lang? or fakes at that since sila naman ang kadalasang mura at "reasonable".
@ frosty :
sure, we all have our own opinion, I respect that. I just hope that some (not referring to you) people wont contradict their own statements para hindi mukhang balimbing, or nagrereply para lang may masabi tapos ittry bawiin sa follow up comment ang unang sinabi, ano ba talagang stand diba?
What some people dont understand kasi, masarap naman talaga to shop from brick and mortar stores ng designer items if you have moolah to spend, sino bang may ayaw nun, pagka-bayad mo, maiuuwi mo agad yung brand new na item. Right?
People who buy expensive bags should be ready for the reality that it can be damaged instantly. Buy only what you can afford, such that if it is lost or destroyed, it would not stress you out. Huwag masyadong mayabang. A person should not buy a bag or accessories worth over his/her two weeks income
ReplyDeleteFP, do you agree with September 28, 2011 1:17pm that a person "should" not buy a bag worth over his/her two weeks income? Being a Birkin user, your thoughts please?
ReplyDeleteSANA ITINULONG MO NA LANG YAN SA MGA MAHIHIRAP.
ReplyDelete@anonymous Sep 28 1:25 PM
ReplyDeleteIt could be that FP is earning a lot. Probably worth a birkin bag every week. :)
But really, do not buy a bag that you would be willing to sacrifice yourself or love ones to save it from being damaged. Kung may sasaksak sa kamay mo halimbawa, ihaharang mo ba ang Hermes Bag mo to protect your arm (or the arm of your love ones) para hindi kayo magkasugat?
Which is then more important to you, your arm or your hermes? Which is more acceptable to you, masugatan ka o masugatan ang Hermes bag mo?
Gets mo? Ano ba dapat ang priority natin?
pag ganyan naman te, walang isip isip ano, sino ba ang lukaret na uunahin ang bag, Birkin man yan... ginagawa nyo naman shallow ang mga mayayaman. malamang yang 2.5 milyon na yan ay barya na sa kanya, at pinaghirapan nya yan, and most likely, may nakalaan syang for charity. na actually, di naman talaga advisable unless you use the money to "teach the poor to fish" , lam mo yun
Deletebirkin bags are actually good investments. the price would most likely go up in the long run. hindi lang siya basta pang display.
ReplyDeleteOh my , is this "L" from that "house built" in Paranaque? If yes, I'm not surprised. Because even if she's living the life eh talagang may hilig din sa mga ja-fakes. Have you seen her store? 1st floor puro authentic 50k lowest na bags, then sa 2nd floor puro baclaran items.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the consistency in that? What message is she trying to get across? And also, I think last year, meron din isang artista nasita naman sa Heathrow Airport because of her LV bag na binili from "L" so may reputasyon na talaga sya.
DeleteLeilani's.
ReplyDeleteThe replica handbags would bring style and glamour even to your simplest casual clothing. I am also using some luxury replica handbags for my casual wearing.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love Hermes, part of me inside dies whenever I see a fat fugly woman with a fake birkin in Greenhills trying to pretend she's worth a million dollars. So to you replica handbags: You're not impressing anybody you cheap social climber.
ReplyDeleteShunga shunga naman to kung totoo ma na nagbayad sya ng Php2.5M without having the bag authenticated before the purchase.
ReplyDeleteIt's MTO kasi, walang available sa Greenbelt, excited syang bumili kaya sa reseller pumunta.
