The sour and salty taste of blue cheese makes it an acquired taste for people with tolerant palates. Its pungent smell is often enough reason for most people not to try it. People who are afraid to even taste this cheese are missing their chance to enjoy the extraordinary flavor of this misunderstood cheese.
When this actor and his actress-girlfriend were invited to dinner, they were served salad with blue cheese. During dinner, a female guest noticed that the actress was picking the blue cheese out of her salad, so she asked her if she dislikes the taste. She was surprised when the actress told her that the blue cheese from the salad is "panis" or spoiled.

money can't buy the a palengkera class. =)
ReplyDeleteis this the actress na hirap mag english?
ReplyDeleteSi Insecure much?
ReplyDeletebut it's supposed to smell panis talaga! talagang marred yan image nya sa river of life.
ReplyDeleteKung panis yung cheese bakit pa nya kakainin yung salad?!
Hehehehe. Kaya pwede na rin sagot nya.
ReplyDeleteM kaheart?
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAH Money and fame can't buy you class and culture! oh the nouveau rich
ReplyDeleteYou can't really spoil blue cheese. It is already a decomposing chunk of milk solids, complete with its own mold. But I don't blame the actress, I avoid it too. Not only because it smells like filthy, stinky feet, I'm also allergic to the blue mold growing in it.
ReplyDeleteWaaahh!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 4:28 - can't figure out who P of kafamily is. haha!
Wow ate, first time mo? Hahaha :)
ReplyDeleteA cruise in the Magnificent Riviera?
ReplyDeleteI love bleu/blue cheese!!!
ReplyDeletegaling naman ng mga commenters!
9
hindi naman lahat nakakaalam sa blue cheese so responsibility nung bf nung girl na i-explain kung ano yung blue cheese. no reason para kutyain yung actress. Blue Cheese is not 'native' to Pinoys.
You guys are being snotty!
ReplyDeletehahaha! this reminded me of my boss' reaction when i gave him blue cheese from NZ as pasalubong. if tama hula ko, taga-land of the amulet din the actress like my boss ;p
ReplyDeleteI love not being able to guess it. clues please
ReplyDeleteThis is more like it, FP. Something fresh & mind-boggling. Congrats. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteGS
hi FP! I think this is the actress na hirap nga mag-english.
ReplyDeleteI don't know.. I think there's nothing wrong with this. It just so happen na first time nyang makatikim ng blue cheese. sa ignorance naman talaga nagsisimula ang knowledge, di ba? =)
ReplyDeleteIGNORANCE IS NEVER AN EXCUSE!
ReplyDeleteis this A the fallen angel and insecure much gf of mouse D who plays when the cat is away from the kafamily network? or is this M the super palengkera and walang breeding gf of D from the kaheart network?
ReplyDeleteM to yung psychology daw sya hahahaahahaha bobo lang nya :)) --superF
ReplyDeletebakit for us who are the fans of K, masama rin ba sabihin ang opinion namin, i mean, hindi naman sa sumusugod para makipag-away, just telling also our opinion, wag naman sana sabihing warfreaks agad.. kasi parang kayo lang na hhighblood, "defend & kill your idol" are you okay?
ReplyDeleteIf spoiled din si actress most likely it is A :)
ReplyDeletekung sino man tong nasa BI, wala naman masama sa ginawa nya d ba?? bat big deal masyado? buti ba sana kung sinabi nya na kadiri, o nagalit o nagwalk out sya sa resto. yung ibang nagcocomment kala mo naman cnong magaling.
ReplyDeleteGS
i agree with the others here. ilan na ba sa mga nanlait dyan kay M sa mga comments sa itaas ang nakatikim na ng blue cheese? hello, baka nga wala kayong pambili para makatikim man lang nun. and whoever said she wanted class? i think she's just being herself. she's like anybody who has a dream, it just so happened that hers came true because she really worked hard for it! so yung mga iba dyan na inggit lang, your loss not hers!
ReplyDeleteWhat I've always wanted to suggest to these actresses is... why not spend for personality development classes and basic english? why, with all that money and fame... you sure need to learn proper manners, conduct and etiquette if you were not born to that lifestyle. your expensive designer stuff deserve it! and so do you. pretty woman ba.
ReplyDeleteXONie
ka.guess ka wifey? hahaha spoiled blue cheese. :)
ReplyDeleteExcuse me, hindi lahat ng "cultured" ay may good breeding. Besides, if the female guest had enough good breeding, she should have just told the actress what it was, what to expect and not make a big issue out of it.
ReplyDeletenothing wrong with it, i guess. e sa ayaw niya bakit ipipilit. it doesn't make her less of a person if she has no idea that blue cheese smells and tastes like that.
As if naman di kayo nagsimulang ignorante sa ibang bagay.
Pft!
hmmm... actually, kung sino man sya, she could have just discreetly pushed the blue cheese to somewhere inconspicuous sa plate nya and politely said na i don't eat it kasi. instead of saying na panis that's why di nya kinain. can't really blame her if she's not familiar with it. pero she should have just used common sense and courtesy. common sense kasi kung panis yun, why would other people at the dinner table eat it? courtesy kasi sana naisip nya that the host or hostess would not have served panis na food. :-)
ReplyDeletehonestly, although i've heard a lot about blue cheese before, recently lang ako nakatikim talaga. it IS expensive pero hindi lahat nakaka-appreciate nito. but if you don't like it, it doesn't mean uncultured ka or tanga. it's all a matter of preference.
acquired taste talaga sya kasi matu-turn off ka sa amoy (di ba parang durian? whose smell i hate and i wouldn't eat it in its natural form pero pwede ko pagtiyagaan candy and ice cream versions kasi medyo na-mask na yung amoy, but a lot of other people like it) pero masarap. promise. :-)
--mall rat
I don't think its A the fallen angel, kc nag aral sya ng culinary diba.. maybe it's M na gf ni D..
ReplyDeleteFor those who aren't familiar with the stuff, of course the reaction would be like that...oh 'cmmon..this isn't such a big deal anyway...We weren't raise in a country were blue cheese is a staple in every meal...and even those who have tasted it, can very well agree that it takes a certain " appetite " to appreciate its flavor...but for me, even if you serve it for free...I wouldn't even bother...I just couldn't stomach the flavor..and to think that a salad serving drizzled with it is quite costly...I would rather spend my bucks on something juicy to tickle my taste buds...
ReplyDeleteLOL you didn't publish my comment! I really have to say that you're becoming cheap by always hitting on this girl. If you think she has no class, then what do you call people who stoop down her level by creating a BI?
ReplyDeletewho is the actress?
ReplyDeleteI think there's nothing wrong with it.. We cant know everything.. this BI is made just to make fun of someone who (by description) is just not that knowledgeable with cheese (it can be anything..wine, chocolates, etc..).
ReplyDeleteI don't think this is M. She may be "simple and palengkera sounding" but she's also well travelled and she's a very good cook.
(I know i'm not the only one here. umamin na rin yung iba jan! Peace!) but tnx FP, at least now i have an idea! <3
i really don't think there's anything wrong with that. siguro nga dapat nagtanong muna sya or whatevs, pero i dunno. o sige kayo na mayaman at may alam ng blue cheese.
ReplyDeleteI have class and I am educated I speak English very fluently and I don't look bad at all, but put me in that kind of position I'd prolly do the same thing, it is something you don't understand and know as soon as you were born, you learn stuff like this in time as you get more exposed...
ReplyDeleteI remember one hollywood actress who was known to be smart for she went to a good college, she was telling in one of her interviews an experience of hers when she was in France, she opened the fridge and felt nauseous when the stack of cheese started to smell and enveloped the house,. she thought that the cheese was spoiled so she disposed it.
everybody thought it was just a funny incident but nobody accused her of being uneducated low class social climber...
and this actress here on this BI, if she grew up here in the PH, how often does a regular filipino family use or even come across a blue cheese??!!
NEVER!!!
waaaaaahahahahaha!!!
Why do I have this gut feel that this ISN'T superstarM?
ReplyDeleteClues please FP!
Mwah,
R
i'm confused..is this A or M ?
ReplyDeleteanyway, hindi lang siguro familiar sa blue cheese..nothing wrong with it but she should have just ask.
twelve
Echosera.Masabi lang eh.If we wanted to know about blue cheese we would have just googled it.No need for bragging.

Kaya please, wag maging mapanghusga.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing wrong with this... I meant not everyone knows about blue cheese, let me remind other people here that we are in a 3rd world country so your yaman, and everything wala pa yan sinabi sa iba sa ibang bansa, y not BI other things? Like harsh attitude, etc..
ReplyDelete... So sino nga ito???
ReplyDeletea blue cheese coloring me goodbye
ReplyDeleteA new cheese could never feel so fine
Tomorrow i'll be livin in black and white
Why does it have to be such a blue cheese
When i kiss you
Now i color my world with a blue cheese
I've got kisses for you
Red lips kissin away my fears
A blue cheese bringin me back to tears
Why does it have to be such a blue cheese
Yea these cheeses are blue
Now i color my world with a blue cheese
I've got kisses for you
:)
ReplyDeletei feel that this BI is a little overboard... it does not matter that much kung sino man ang tinutukoy... it seems to be a blind item in bad taste. :( but i still love you FP! :)
I like M, I think cia lang ang totoo sa showbiz industry.
ReplyDeleteYeah this isn't M. in fairness to M, she's rich kahit nung hindi pa sya taartitz! Sa mga nanlalait, as if kayo nakatikim na ng Blue cheese! haha Feeling ko ang actress na ito ay isang A! Buti na lang sumikat syang child actress together with a Princess!
ReplyDeleteI don't think this is M. She may be "simple and palengkera sounding" but she's also well travelled and she's a very good cook.
ReplyDeleteWala akong paki sa BI na ito really, pero parang I read between the lines that it was a dinner party (correct me if I'm wrong), so to say that the host/hostess is serving something rotten/panis is a bit rude IMO...
ReplyDelete@Anonymous August 29, 2011 10:28 PM
Dapat "I've got cheeses for you" heehee...
FP,
ReplyDeleteIsn't it spelled "bleu" cheese? Just asking.
And I don't think this is M. It could be anyone else.
FP,
ReplyDeleteSa article na 'to you're definitely being rude. What's wrong with not knowing how a blue cheese smells and tastes? Porke't alam mo ang lasa nun you'll already classify yourself sa upper class?
Can you tell me FP the intent of this certain BI? Is this just to classify this actress as part of the lower class, at para sabihing 'cheap' itong actress na ito? Sheesh.
Let me just clarify that I don't have anything against the actress not knowing what blue cheese was. I posted this story because I thought it was not proper for her to say it was "PANIS" out loud.
ReplyDeleteIf you were the host of that dinner, how would you feel? If you were one of the guests who was actually eating it and enjoying it, how would you feel?
high blood na naman kau.. guilty much?? i agree, no richness can buy or automatically give you manners & breeding.. it depends on how you were brought up or if you want to learn..
ReplyDeleteP.S. sa mga secret spies dyan na hate na hate si fp pero every minute nagccheck, thanks for your support! ;p
Libre magtanong.
I am not a chef but I think your picture shows ricotta cheese on the salad. You never put that much blue cheese because of the strong and pungent flavor.
ReplyDelete@Anonymouse 2:36: For your reference, I got the photo from: http://thegrandgourmand.wordpress.com/2010/01/28/green-apple-pea-shoot-and-amish-blue-cheese-salad-w-balsamic/
ReplyDeletenapikon si FP? incomplete kasi ang facts mo. hindi mo kasi agad isinulat na "she said the word 'PANIS' loudly. in that case, wala ngang manner itong artistang ito, whoever she is and whatever her status in life.
Ako inaamin ko hindi pa ako nakakakain nyan but that doesn't make me ignorant.
ReplyDeleteI think FP is right that off naman talaga to say out loud na panis...even in any simple handaan, you would not just want to blurt out something like that specially if you are seeing other people enjoying the said food! It is still manners, right? I would suggest that her mother network would enroll her with social graces and english conversation lessons... i don't see anything wrong with that.. Even Kim Chiu admitted that she was asked/forced by Mr. M of kapamilya to have english conversation lessons...hinde naman kasing pede sa lagi na lang nagiging bastos at mali ang pagsasalita ng tao eh e-excuse na lang natin sya na ...she is just being true... there is always room for improvement..sana lang people around her can influence her properly
ReplyDeleteBut the fact that she didn't know what blue cheese was is the reason for her saying the cheese was "panis", right? So it goes hand in hand. She probably really thought that the cheese was spoiled. So she couldn't have really tried to put it more nicely (by saying, for instance, she was allergic) IF she really thought it was panis. It's not like the actress was intentionally criticizing the food. She just didn't know better.
ReplyDeleteA gracious host wouldn't be offended, I think. A gracious host would understand that his/her guest has probably had never had blue cheese before, and explain that the cheese was supposed to be that way. If you were a guest and were enjoying the salad, I don't think you should be offended either. Like I said, the actress wasn't really complaining, she just didn't know better.
Nakakaoffend ba yun? I don't know about you, but I think you are reading too much into this.
ReplyDeleteIf I were the host or one of the guests eating the salad, I would find it amusing that she thought it was spoiled. But no, I wouldn't be offended.
I don't know who this actress is. If this is M from heart network, I also don't like her. But come on! She didn't do anything wrong. Abay malay ba nya na it was supposed to taste that way.
I think FP is right that off naman talaga to say out loud na panis...even in any simple handaan, you would not just want to blurt out something like that specially if you are seeing other people enjoying the said food! It is still manners, right? I would suggest that her mother network would enroll her with social graces and english conversation lessons... i don't see anything wrong with that.. ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I've read about a salad already being served with the dressing. Usually, the waiter would ask what dressing the person would like in his/her salad. Even in buffets where there's a salad bar, the dressings are separated because people have preferences. They can pick from either ranch, blue cheese, thousand island or vinaigrette.
ReplyDeleteBlue cheese is an acquired taste, and even the FP author said it in the first sentence. The host made a mistake in assuming that everyone would like it. Besides, why was the dressing on the salad? Shouldn't it be in a separate container?
as per google search, M's father owns a restaurant. and i believe she herself also cooks. so i don't hink this is her. any clues?
ReplyDeleteHahaha! FP, dahil lang sa keso nagkagulo na. Waley e PANISSSS..
ReplyDeleteI think the moral of the story is that when you are invited for dinner, make sure that you are polite enough to keep your negative reactions to yourself.
ReplyDeleteRemember that girl who said that the wines in Vietnam sucks even if she was a guest? We all agreed that we she did was rude and inappropriate. Same logic applies to this story.
Most reader's missed the point.
I think we see the indictment of the Philippine education system, mahina sa comprehensive reading ang karamihan.
-Mars
Agree with you 2:29am. Exactly the point of this post.
ReplyDeleteWhere are your manners Ms. Whoever-You-Are Actress? LOL!
i love blue cheese!!!
ReplyDeletei agree it's wrong to tell a dinner host that the food served is "panis". there are several ways to communicate that you don't like the food without having to insult (intentionally or unintentionally) the host.
think before you speak.
Hehe FP what's your beef with M? Are you a friend of K, the actor's ex? My god she hasn't moved on? Well her current is quite a downgrade from actor, Jennifer Anniston much haha! Anyway I don't blame M, everyone knows she insists on not keeping up with the Jones unlike the former Darna or the boxers' wife who are racing like hell in their social climbing bid. I'm reluctant to touch the stuff too because I'm allergic to molds in general and it does smell bad. I hate lengua because it's slimy and I don't care how well prepared snails and frogs are - I will never eat them because they are just that, snails and frogs. In the story of the emperor's new clothes, I'd probably say out loud too that the emperor is butt naked.
ReplyDeleteI like bleu cheese... its an acquired taste...
ReplyDeleteanyway I think the blind item is about her saying it was panis to the host/hostess... that was rude.. she shouldve just said.. I'm not really into that cheese or something to that effect... sabihan ka ba naman na nag serve ka ng panis? Insulting.... panis sabay kain yung kasama ng cheese... hahahah
its funny how people become soooo defensive... read the story kasi ng maayos... attack ng attack full on war mode... its not about her not knowing the cheese.. its how she reacted or acted towards the hostess.
eh panis naman talaga ang bleu cheese! anobah, i still don't see the point of this BI
ReplyDeleteFP is right.Social etiquette does dictate to never embarrass your host and never make your fellow diners feel bad for enjoying something you don't happen to like. Be discreet, don't be vulgar.
ReplyDeletePalaging natitira si M because her attitude attracts it.
May katotohanan ang kasabihang "you can take the girl out of the barrio but never the barrio from the girl." If I were her manager, pwersahin ko yan mag-aral sa polishing school. Look what the Henareses did to Regine V. before putting her out there in public, they brought her to Paris and had her schooled for 6months! O, di ba...she came back polished and sophisticated enough for the discriminating taste of the madlang pretending to be high society!
ReplyDeletePretty obvious here in the comments section who are the die-hard fans of M. The thought of y'all killing for your idol like duh? Would she even care? Haha
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the point of this BI is pretty clear. not about class like you all thought it is, but her manner/s.
Her fans are as superficial as their idol. Get yourselves checked.
-K
Her fans are as rotten as bleu cheese like what their idol thought. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think this is BI-worthy. Even if this actually happened, how is this more rude than people here calling actors/actresses as flops, "baduy", or "laos", for example? I think judging and making fun of other people is, at the least, as bad as what this actress supposedly did. So, don't other folks/readers here feel such hypocrites making a negative judgment on this actress' action if you yourself have done a similar, if not more rude things by judging other personalities, calling them names, and making fun of some of their misfortunes?
ReplyDeleteActually this blog would not matter to any of us kung ang i-tsismis dito ang kapitbahay lang ni FP na si Tya Marya. Pakialam natin??
ReplyDeletei don't think this is M since hunky D and M rarely go to parties since both are busy with work. and in fairness to M, kahit so called "palengkera" sha e i think she has the decency not to make those remarks in front of the host/hostess. kahit papano exposed sha sa upper/middle class since she studied and graduated college in a good school, right FP? so kahit papano narinig na nya about blue cheese or even tasted it. She's quite frank but i think she has table manners naman. D should know better. Now the other "palengkera" in the other network might be the one in this BI....si Insecure Much na when the cat is away the bf will play. Even if you attended a short course on culinary but did not internalize it and listened to the lecture and just took it because it is "uso", e bale-wala. Lalo na if she took up yung mga short course na focused lang on one cuisine, like thai, korean, asian, america, italian or european, french, etc. kung yung European Cuisine e baka ma-encounter pa nya yung blue cheese. e kaso baka hindi yun ang pinag-aralan nya, who knows. But i guess nothing wrong for being ignorant about the blue cheese, it's just being "tactless" with the words that came out of her mouth ang medyo off. Being frank is different with being tactless.
ReplyDeletemay tweet si FP that this is not the "byetipul girl" hmmmm.. sino kaya?
ReplyDeleteAugust 30, 2011 1:57 PM at August 30, 2011 2:00 PM
ReplyDeleteif i read it correctly, the actress DID NOT SAY ANYTHING until somebody ASKED. sinong walang manners sa kanila? well para sa kin YUNG NAGTANONG ang walang modo. NAKIKIALAM pa kasi eh NANANAHIMIK naman yung isa na kumakain kahit ITINATABI yung keso.
FP is right, di dapat niya sinabing panis. But sino ba talaga to FP? Haha!
ReplyDeletePak!
ReplyDeleteI thought it's M talaga, kasi she's kinda rude and frank diba, like dun sa "Kasama ba to sa contrata ko? incident.
ReplyDeleteM use to work in a nightclub before she was discovered.. So I guess the breeding started there.. Being caviteno is just an excuse.
ReplyDeleteGuys, according to FP, "this is not the byetipul girl. =)"
ReplyDeleteThis means the BI is not refering to M who is in the lead role of the epicserye of the heart channel...
pls see FP's twit: micsylim Fashion PULIS: May debate sa FP dahil sa Blue Cheese: http://www.fashionpulis.com/2011/08/spoiled-blue-cheese.html.btw, this is not the byetipul girl. =)

Tok Tok Tok helllooo???????
ReplyDelete2.00pm correct ka dyan I totally agree.
I have a friend na gustong-gustong ipulutan ang blue cheese pero yung isa ko namang friend ayaw kumain kase nga me gout.
In other words, mabilis mag-react ang pinoy for something negative or kapintasan.
To be honest, this is the first time I've ever heard of blue cheese. It doesn't make me less of a person. This just goes to show that we don't know everything under the sun. There is still so much to learn no matter how intelligent or "sosyal" (classy) you are.
This is not she
Try to look kaya sa twitter account ni FP and ang sabi dun its not M so it's A na mas naging palengkera ang ugali.
ReplyDeleteMga anonymous pwede bang magcomment kayo kahit with a nickname man lang?

And btw, sabi na nga ba tama ang hinala ko na this ill-mannered actress is NOT meynteyn. It's actually Ms. Insecure Much! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI know what blue cheese is (probably more than most of you here) and how it tastes, but I don't really have the palate for it. Nagpapakatotoo lang, ayoko talaga ng lasang panis. Does that make me uncouth or at least unrefined?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, you guys are so pretentious.
It's as if every half-decent here in the family has a chunk of Roquefort in its fridge or cupboard. It amuses me how shortsighted you phonies can get. Kayo ang napaghahalataang nouveau riche at walang class.
ReplyDeleteClass is all about poise and carrying yourself well.
hindi kc maayos ang pagkakasulat ni FP, dapit sinabi nya isinigaw, kc sbi lng ni FP ay "She was surprised when the actress told her that the blue cheese from the salad is "panis" or spoiled." so kung isinigaw nga, wala nga naman manners si actress.
ReplyDeleteAnd so because you think you knew about blue cheese you can laugh at other's ignorance? Do you think it made you a better person than her?
ReplyDeleteClass is not about label in case you forgot. And this actress, never, for once, claimed that she belongs to the "alta society" like some of the pretenders here would like to think of themselves.
Oh si insecure much ba to? Goodness eh bata pa lang artista na yan, dapat naglevel up na yan by now. Goes to show na kahit designer ka from head to toe, you can't feign class tsk tsk.
ReplyDeleteTo Ada: Pangingialam tingin mo dun? Haha. Pwede naman kasi magtanong kung sino man tong taong 'to eh. Libre magtanong. Hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteANYWAY GOING BACK TO THE BI...
ReplyDeleteHULAAN NIYO NALANG KUNG SINO
I smell something fishy, FP. Sige lang, filter lang ng filter. Hahaha! I still love your blog though.
ReplyDeleteI dont know who this actress is. But who cares. Ive eaten blue cheese before, but so what? Separating blue cheese from her salad is simply her choice. Shell be d one whos going to eat it anyway. It should satisfy her buds. Not urs or anybody else's. Pretending to like it even if ur stomach or buds couldnt muster it is being hypocrite. Social climber just to please d people around her. it's just like when i remove the pineapple from my pizza or raisins on my cookies or beans in my burrito or veggies in my pansit. So what? Why would this be a big deal. I simply dont get it.

ReplyDeleteduh.... who are you?? angelina jolie look a like.. what you said doesn't make sense at all.

-> DUH ADA.. its simply natural for the host/ hostess to ask if everything is ok food wise.. coz she prepared it.. she couldve been worried na baka pala she's allergic to something in the food.
-> people this bi is about manners ok.. not her not know what blue cheese is... if she didn't know what it was.. she shouldve just said oh I don't eat blue cheese. period.
-> to anonymous something.. i believe the salad had bits and crumbles of bliue cheese.. not blue /bleu cheese dressing.. would you eat the leaves coated with the so called panis dressing? tsss...
think before you speak nga.
not looking for a fight.. but the whole getting mad at the blogger/bi is super ridiculous na.. wag mashado war mode on for your idol...

->> exactly class is about poise and carrying yourself well.. by saying to the hostess na panis yung sinerve nya is classy , well mannered and all poised? I don't think so. She shouldve just said plain out. i don't like bleu cheese... its not my cup of tea.. but everything else was good.
take it easy mr. classy . hahahahahha relax.
i really don't think there's anything wrong with this. Hindi ibig sabihin na dahil hindi mo alam ano yung blue cheese ay hindi ka nah na belong sa upper class, it doesn't really judge what level you belong to. Not everyone knows blue cheese, even if you belong to the alta rich. Because being rich doesn't automatically make you intelligent or all knowing.
ReplyDeleteblue cheese war!! haha anu ba yan. anyways i'm a super fan of M. and nilinaw na naman ni FP sa tweeter nya na hindi si M to. ngayon, whoever the actress is, kung hindi xa pamilyar sa lasa ng blue cheese wala naman tau magagawa dun. e kung ako din xa at di ko feel ang lasa e itatabi ko din at hindi kakainin..dapat na lang nung tinanong xa nung guest at sinabi ni blue cheese girl na "panis" ung keso...sinabihan na lang xa na "girl, blue cheese yan..ganyan talaga lasa nyan lasang panis =)" xmpre in a way na hindi naman mapaphiya si actress and dapat mahina..now, mapahiya man si actress e di natuto naman xa. at least alam nya na ganun talaga lasa nun. =)
I think the point of this BI is the funny cum ignorant reaction of the actress. yun lang naman. Funny sya.
wag nyo pagbawalan yung ngarereact ng di maganda sa mga BI ni FP.don't you know that they help in tha pageview counts?geesh!!
aish
Alam nyo dapat hindi nyo pinagtatawanan ang tao because of that. I agree with some of the comments here na it's not her fault she didn't grew up knowing blue cheese. kasalanan ba ng pang mayaman lang na pagkain don. parang ang yabang nyo lang to judge. tsk.
ReplyDeleteYou know, i really pity M. She's always being labeled as "uncultured" just because she's not fluent in English and has a distinct voice. Stereotyping na yang ginagawa ng mga tao. Ok, this is not she but whoever this girl na nasa BI, it's a normal reaction na sabihing panis yung cheese dahil nga sa taste. So, it's not as if nagkasala siya, di ba? - Reeya

- hahahahaha i've to agree with MK.. nag feeling si 9:04 .. hahahahah super natawa ako. thanks for making my day hahahahahaha
- hip hip hooray for blue cheese wars! hahahahah
- 7:43 / 7:49am I agree with you . hahahahaha relax people. hahahahahaha
this made my day.
p.s I love blue cheese.. the smell is stinky but not nakakasuka. OA kayo. Its an acquired taste.. some like it some dont. Just like truffles.. some love it.. some feels it taste like gas.
taste and preference lang yan.. depends lang how you'll react to a situation.
what is so funny if you are ignorant about blue cheese? why all of a sudden blue cheese became the measuring stick of your social status?
ReplyDeletekatawa to the max. Go Pinoys. Rahrah nouveau riche.
And since when naman naging pangmayaman ang blue cheese? Gee chiz wiz.
ReplyDeleteat least di sya nagreklamo sa nagserve na panis yung cheese. hehe! i cant see anything wrong about this. anyway, BI naman is not always negative. di ko din naman alam ang blue cheese until this. hahahah!
ReplyDeletehmmm... BI pa din naman to kung tutuusin. hihi... eh sino nga ba to? curious lang.
nung first time q nakatikim ng blue cheese, naku gusto q talaga isuka/iluwa....malas q lng kasama q boss q that time.....sana ikinorek na lng ni female guest si actress....
ReplyDeletekalurky lang ang iba dito, dahil lang sa comment na "panis" at tagalog yung pagkasabi ay si M na agad ang pagbintangan..M used to travel to Espanya sa lugar ng tatay nya at may sariling restaurant ang tatay nya..she's not ignorant when it comes to food dahil common sa Europa ang blue cheese..
ReplyDeletebut wait a blue cheese moment.. so sino tong B.I na toh?
ReplyDeleteI still have no idea who she is.... doesn't matter if she knows what it is.. likes it or not...
I just wanna know who the actress is... share share.. tama na sa blue cheese wars... if its pang mayaman or not hahahah. taste and preference yan.
Yung inasal ni Insecure Much ang imbyerna dito no!
ReplyDeleteboy, i got tired reading all the comments that ensued from this blind item about blue cheese & manners. blue cheese is panis...blue cheese stinks to the high heavens...aren't salads served with the dressings always on the side(this one made my eyebrow slant a bit higher)...the actress shouldn't have replied to the hostess with "the cheese is panis"...it was said out loud...comments about being cultured...about being ignorant...whew!
ReplyDeletemy take on this whole shebang is that dear little actress (whoever she may be) is such a little simpleton that she didn't know any better than to reply to the hostess with her HONEST answer...it tastes PANIS so i refuse to eat it. maybe it was a crassy uncouth answer BUT i guess she didn't know how to word it better & lacks the ingenuity to reply with a PRETTY LITTLE WHITE LIE like maybe "sorry i can't eat this because my tummy reacts to any kind of cheese" or like someone mentioned earlier "i'm allergic to it" or some polite stuff like that. so lay off the attitude people, and FP, this entry still ranks as a good & entertaining read which is precisely what this whole blog is supposed to be about, correct?
everyone, think before you click! :)
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous August 31, 2011 7:49 AM,
ReplyDeleteWala akong sinasabing classy kung sino man ang artistang tinutukoy rito. In fact, I couldn't care less about who she really is.
But to answer your question: no, I wouldn't consider what she did as 'wa-class.' It was just plain ignorance. Naivete pa nga, eh. That's it.
Eh di ba puro molds nga yun? kung gracious host sya, she should've just said "bleu cheese really tastes like that." Naghanap pa ng magpa-publish ng BI...
ReplyDeleteGusto ko lang itama ang pagkakasulat ko: It's as if every half-decent family in the country has a chunk of Roquefort in its fridge or cupboard.*
ReplyDeleteSalamat.
May mali pa din e.
DeleteGrabe FP, you started a debate! Hehe...there is absolutely nothing wrong with not liking a particular food. I think the reason this story was BI worthy is because of what the actress said about the cheese. She shouldn't have said it was panis even if she thought it was.
ReplyDeleteto stefan punongbayan...please, others can't even begin to understand blue cheese, you start introducing roquefort! maybe we should mention tilsit...or manchego...maybe camembert...oh & my other mabahong favorite gorgonzola.... :)
I'm not implying anything, I'm just seriously baffled.
ReplyDeleteIf she thought it ttasted panis and that she didn't like it, it does not necessarily make her ill bred or uncultured. It's just a matter of taste and preference.
ReplyDeletepara namang napaka-common ng blue cheese sa pinas para maging familiar ang lahat ng tao... bakit na-BI ang ganitong story in the first place ??? ganun ba kasosyal ang mga readers ng FP ??? yung mga rich diyan na kung maka-comment kala mo sila lang ang anak ng diyos... yes, she's probably a noveau rich but she's rich and she did it on her own... di tulad ng mga nagpapaka-paris hilton na mga celebrity diyan na puro naman galing sa rich na magulang ang ginagamit nila...
ReplyDeleteOh c'mon everyone! it's forgivable naman.
ReplyDeleteit's forgivable. c'mon!
There's a lot of variety of cheeses out there, some are good and tasty and some are not, blue cheese is one of them...unang tingin mukhang amag and it smells but trying all these cheese is an acquired taste...unfortunately, dalawa lang ang naging gusto ko, american and swiss cheese...
ReplyDeleteI was going through all your previous BIs and I came across this. I have found answers to the others, but this one i definitely couldn't because none of the comments helped.
ReplyDeletethey ended up fighting, which is (right now, in my point of view) quite hilarious! so FP, even though it's been a while na, can you give a clue? hahaha.. i might not be able to sleep thinking about it!
Lahat ng first world country gamit ang kanilang sariling wika? Yung mga third world country, gamit yung wika ng first world.
ReplyDelete
