How many of you have encountered a rude celebrity in public? Stories about these rude celebrities are reaching widespread proportions. The problem with the word rude though is that sometimes it is too subjective. What is rude to one person might not be considered rude by another. Who then is to decide if a behavior is rude or not?
The fact is, the person who was offended should be the ultimate judge if whether a certain action or behavior is deemed rude or not. In general, the person offended would consider a behavior as rude if it is defined by ill-mannered and discourteous actions.
Let me share this example with you to better illustrate what a rude behavior is. A restaurant customer was at the foyer area speaking with the receptionist when he noticed the arrival of this actress. Out of courtesy and excitement, he suddenly stood up from his seat, smiled at her and said "Hello, Miss _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ !" Upon hearing what he said, the actress said nothing and looked at him from head to toe before walking away.

ReplyDeleteIf I was in a similar situation, I'd play it by ear if it feels appropriate. Kasi naman kesyo celebrity, wag mag-aassume na always ready to chika sila. Besides, celebrity or not kung bigla kang nakabog sa dyosang dumaan, you take risks kung papansinin ka o hindi. Yan kasi, you give celebrities too much credit. Mababa lang naman pala ang interest rate nila.
Bakit? Kung si unknown ka lang tapos may biglang nag-cat call sa iyo na hindi mo kilala, obligado ka bang pansinin? If they look creepy pa nga, you can't hide that disgust in your face.
I think masyado lang senstive kasi parang 'nabasted' si starstruck admirer. Nakakahurt nga naman ng ego. Ipa blind item na lang para kahit papaano makabawi. That's entertainment!

I don't think the actress was rude at all. What is rude is greeting someone you don't even know and expecting a plastic hello. The actions of the restaurant customer was over the top to even bother to stand up just to say hello to someone who doesn't even know him. If you see a celebrity one should just act nonchalant and mind his own business! That is the sophisticated way. After all it is not a customer's job to be the restaurant owner. That's why I would never want to be popular or be a public figure - this is exactly what happens. You know you love me xoxo

Anyways, I've met her before and she was very accommodating and nice when my foreigner friend had her picture taken with her in Eastwood. Hindi ko maintindihan bakit ang guest na kumakain sa restaurant kailangan maging pormal at tatayo pa sa upuan just to greet a celebrity. If you are the owner mas understandable pa. most people want an easier time guessing the blind items here & you want it HARDER? please speak for yourself! i want it just easy enough to guess after a short while so my head won't ache & i wont loose sleep!:D
regarding the rude behavior of this actress, a simple smile would've been enough, just to acknowledge the person that recognized her. these celebrities should remember to treat people humanely, giving them the same respect that they expect should be given to them. because at the end of the day, these celebrities are still people, and not the gods that most of the time they think they are.
Eh she's rude nga. When I walk into buildings, the guards and resceptionists always greet me and everyone else "good morning/afternoon" ma'm/sir. Even if I'm having a bad day, I always coax myself to respond or at least smile and nod kasi wala naman masama sa ginagawa nila. In fact, maganda nga. And kawawa naman sila, most are contractual and are on minimum wage. I'm thankful that I have a different job. She's an artista. She wanted that career. She IS aware of the tradeoffs of being a member of that industry. Ginusto niya, pinili nya. So she and the rest of the other artistas whining on how they don't have privacy can shove it up their behinds. Ang aarte. They knew what they were getting themselves into. More than that, they wanted it! Kaya if they don't want to be bothered by the public - who by the way are the reason they have a career - then wag sila magpunta sa public places.
