After blogging for more than three months, this is the first time that I have received an email from a reader sharing a different perspective about a story that was featured in Fashion PULIS. I think it is just fair for me to share this version of the story with all of you. Here goes:
Dear Fashion PULIS,
I am writing you in connection to the story of The Bad Father that was featured in your blog. I hope you can give me a chance to share with your readers another side of him that many people do not know.
When he was sharing the latest updates in his life, he mentioned that the mother of his daughter made an overseas call trying to ask more money from him. Apparently, she heard on the news that he has been travelling all over the world. He told us that his entire salary from the station automatically goes to the support fund of his daughter. He is one of the highest-paid talents in the station so you can imagine the amount of money that goes to the fund. He even told us that the mother of his daughter legally cut off his daughter's ties with him. This means that in paper, he is no longer the father of their daughter but in spite of this, she still asks support money from him. When we asked him if they (mother and daughter) know about what he is going through lately, he said they don’t even have any idea, and if but they did, and I quote, "For sure, they would be happy." When he told us this, I could feel the pain and emotion in his heart. He loves his daughter very much. Not many people know that he loves photography and he has displayed one of his greatest works inside his condo, a picture of his beautiful daughter.
I am telling you this because in my heart I know that he is a good person. He is completely the opposite of the image that he projects on TV. He is the sweetest, most generous and kindest guy I have ever met. Any girl in our circle of friends would gladly take the place of his most recent ex-girlfriend’s in his heart. People who do not know him have been quick to judge him. He is going through a very rough time now and it doesn't help that people keep hitting him. He seems like one tough cookie but he is soft to the core. I just hope people see past his image on TV and see the real him.

I'm in the minority here but I would still say that this guy has my support. I believe that he is broken right now and he has a right to do whatever he must to cope up.

ReplyDeleteAnyway, I have been listening to his morning radio show for the longest time and although I am not a fan of him cutting people off, generally being a douche and having a full-blown ego, I easily saw (rather heard) that he is actually soft to the core.
Yes he does what a 16yo would do - post mysterious unrequited love woes on Twitter, claim he baby talks all the time, bawl whenever he and his girlfriend are having a rough patch in the relationship - but it's when he's not thinking for himself that you actually realize who he is.
He's a sheep in an wolf's clothing.
Now I don't know what's the real deal between him and his baby Momma, but for some other aspects he's got a good heart most of us, unfortunately, cannot see.
Owws? "Automatically" goes to the "support fund"? Who handles this "support fund"? Does GMA directly transfer this money to the account/fund of the daughter? Madaling magsalita, hindi maglalakas ng loob sabihin nung baby mama on air na wala silang natatanggap kung hindi yun totoo dahil yun mismong network ang makakaalam na sinungaling yung mommy kung talagang automatic na yung sweldo niya ay idinederetso ng network sa pangalan nung anak. Hay naku, we weren't born yesterday noh!

I truly agree to this reader. I don't know "the bad father" personally but we used to go to the same school before. He is very humble, a happy go lucky guy. I personally know the his station manager though and I have heard a lot of good things about him. He is very generous person.

ReplyDeletei believe in this...i've been an avid listener of the "bad" father for years...and from what i've gathered, the persona that this guy projects in the media is different in real life...and the baby momma of his daughter is sure as hell a user...imagine, she would lambaste the father in media whenever she wants to make papansin and she would make a huge deal of the sickness of their daughter just so she could get pity from the media...the father hated this because the mom wanted to paint a picture of a dying daughter so she could gain sympathy...but this was not the case...their daughter has a curable sickness...

ReplyDeleteSure enough, there are two sides to every story. And I have to say, as you are friend to one, I happen to be a friend to both. I can assure you that the mother referred to in this story has made no demands for child support. In fact, the father's family made efforts to help out, to make up for his shortcomings.
How do I know this? Because I'm one of the people he hung out with every time he visited. Remember his trip to London a few years back? Surely you would know this if in fact you were a friend. He made a stop in Calabasas to visit his family and not once did he visit his daughter who lived just 30 miles away.
I have known the father for decades and I can assure you, he is as obnoxious as he appears onscreen. He humiliated her countless times and not once did you see her scramble for an interview. When she came home to Manila to visit one of her actress friends marry a basketball star, she did so very quietly. Even if he constantly accused her of wanting a showbiz comeback.
As the mother cut off all ties with the bad father, so did I. And believe me when I say that it was long overdue.

ReplyDeleteWhile I'm all about actors' and actresses' dirty little laundry, I'm usually saddened when I read these kinds of stories - since a child is involved.
ReplyDeleteI used to work with the girl ( this was how i knew this ex couple) and she was really miserable when she was with him. But I know that she also mentioned that he wants a relationship with the daughter. I can't blame the mother because she has been through a lot when she was with him but financially, the guy has been supporting the daughter. the guy has been disappointed a lot of times though since there are a lot of restrictions when it comes to him spending time with the daughter. plus, the mom said a lot of things that hurt him. he hurt her ( cheated on her) but he loves the daughter so much and he has been struggling for his daughter's attention and time.
all in all, its really between the mother and the father. the girl hates the guy because she never forgave him for what he did to her and as for the guy, he wasn't ready to be with her. this has nothing to do with the daughter since when she got pregnant, they both tried to be together. when it was obvious that it wasn't possible, that's when things went awry. how do i know these? the girl has been pretty open about this whole thing a decade ago.
i cant blame the mother IF and IF she has brainwashed her daughter. I can't blame the guy if he has learned to keep his distance.

OMG! I saw them too. S and M? There's actually 1 more girl with them on the side of the stage but i didn't recognize her. I didn't see if they were "taken home" but it sure looked like they were there to "entertain" the group and possibly "be take-homes". They certainly dressed and gyrated for the part. I other concert goers assumed the same thing too

don't get me wrong, i do not like this jerko fries either, but i know a lot of DJs, some good friends, some not that close, some veterans, some not, and believe you me, they can hide their real selves all right, even with their endless chatter & banter. maybe not an exact opposite nga but they aren't always what they seem...

yeah, I saw 3 girls talking to the foreign sound/instrument checkers of M-V band last night, too (before the band itself mounted the stage)... didn't know they were actresses-thought they were just very liberated mestisa groupies...who are they? do tell...

If there is a fund for his daughter's support, he can show proof of that. You can't be sending that much much money through the years and not have any record of it. I doubt his story is true though. I'm sure any mother would avoid badmouthing her ex in public if only to make sure he continues to send support for their child. The fellow is just a two-faced SOB.

Maybe you can tell him to show that "good side" of his to the rest of the world. Or at least to the broken hearts and ruined careers of the young actresses in his past. He goes after pretty mestizas who are barely legal and still naive. I'm not surprised though because no way in hell can he be man enough for a woman his age. So that's why he preys on these young girls, he takes advantage of their naiveté. It's only fitting that karma finally came around to biting him in the a$$. For the rabbit and his other victims, this is but a small helping of karmic justice. So you know in his heart he is a good person. Well most of the people who end up with death sentences and life sentences start that way too - with good hearts. A good heart is useless if it remains hidden, it has to materialize in one's thoughts, actions and words. Sometimes you don't have to know the person well to see that he's a douche. Sometimes a douchebag is nothing more than a douchebag.

First, I don't know Fries and the ex-girlfriend personally. And while there are some who are saying Fries is actually mabait in real life kahit na acquaintance lang sila, I'll say the same for the ex, although di kami friends or whatever.

Kung matatandaan nyo, every guesting nya sa mga talk shows ang binabati nya yung class section nila. Ganyan kasi ka-sweet mga girls sa exclusive school. And pag binabati sya ng mga younger students, mega smile at hi sya kahit di nya kilala.
Again, I don't know the ex personally. Di nga ako acquaintance eh. Pero I can say that she was really so sweet and mabait. If she turned out to be the bitch some are claiming her to be, I don't know. But that's just one glimpse to her personality.
