Our BKK Hotel

Images courtesy of Interval World

Let me share with you some of the photos of Marriott Vacation Club at the Empire Palace I saw online. This is where my friends and I will be staying for one week. Do you see the photo of the dining area? I think that is where I will be writing my stories for Fashion PULIS. Thank you to my best friend B.C. for lending me his mini Lenovo laptop.

This is my first trip overseas for this year. I am already excited just by looking at these photos. I hope I will not be disappointed. As promised, I will try my best to post our travel pictures.

It is my third time to go to Bangkok but I can not remember anything from my previous trips. To my readers who are familiar with the city, I would appreciate all your recommendations. I will be waiting.

  1. i know your place my dear. When I used to go to culinary school for a year in Bkk, I visit the place once in a while to see my classmate. She lives in the building. It's along the highway of Sathorn/Narathiwas. I play tennis at the second floor of the place every sunday! :)) great place!

well of course for your shopping pleasures, try not to miss Siam Paragon, Gaysorn Mall and Central World. It's all in Siam area. Take a cab.

For independent Thai designers, you can check out beside Siam Paragon, which is Siam Center at the 4th Floor. There's this store called MOB.F ... Beautiful pieces from the young Thai Designers! Beside SIAM CENTER is MBK mall, it's like Greenhills but more FUN!

For cheap fashion thrills, go to Platinum Mall which is in Pratunam, just at the back of the Siam Area. You can take a cab. Everything is cheap! You can hoard. And beside Platinum Mall, there's the PANTHIP PLAZA, you can find all the GADGETS here at a rock bottom price!!!

Then for the weekend you can go to CHATUCHAK Weekend Market. Here, you can find EVERYTHING (furniture, clothing, home and deco, art pieces) You can take the Subway and off to "Chatuchak Station" or the BTS Skyway and off to "Mo Chit" station. Bring water with you. It will be a very rugged day for you! go there by 9am, it will by done before sunset.

Well i would like to promote my school hehehehe... You can visit Le Cordon Bleu Dusit, at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Silom. It's very near your place! It's a franchise of Le Cordon Bleu school in Paris. You can have a hands-on experience with French Food for 3,000 baht of a 3 hour class. Or try the Blue Elephant Thai Cuisine, it's a restaurant with a school inside of it.

Then for the night, you can go visit Patpong. lol. The red light district. It's in Silom, everyone knows it. OR you can go to KHAO SAN ROAD, it's this haven for backpackers. The night life is there! Taxi drivers know it. They also have a night market there.

Chinatown at YAOWARAT Road is also a good place to see. It's chinatown, everything is in there. lol

FOOD! food. Thai food! Never miss the street food, it's safe btw! Try everything you like!

For cultural visits of course, visit the Grand Palace (Wat Phra Kaew) taxi drivers don't know Grand Palace so say it in Thai. Or for much more fun, go away from BKK for an hour and visit AYUTTHAYA! You guys can go on a Van at the "Victory Monument" station of the BTS Sky Train. Then from Ayutthaya, you can rent a tuktuk for 400baht for 3 hours! that's enough cultural visit for you guys! :)))

oh god I said too much. lol... Well you can see all my Thailand escapades in my blog! :))) but these are the things that I recommend you to do! :)

  4. Bangkok is a wonderful place to enjoy with friends. If you have not seen it, try to watch Siam Niramit, the most exciting cultural show that i have seen. Its at the Cultural Center and tickets are around P800 without dinner. You can either book online or through your hotel's concierge. Google Siam Niramit for more info. The show is soooo worth it.

  10. Mike, I'd just like to say that I really do admire you for starting this blog. Takes a lot of courage and "current events savvy-ness" to start this, especially knowing that a lot of people will get mad if their dirt gets exposed! You've been around short of 3 months and already, you have hits at almost 400k! Grabe!!! To those who are getting exposed because of this blog and are getting "pikon", my advice is, if you don't want to be talked about, don't give people reason to talk about you. For the rest of you, bad publicity is still publicity, so be thankful for this blog! *Mwah* to you, Mike! I'm still commenting often, but usually as anonymous nalang haha :)

  12. A must-do also is the dinner cruise along Chao Phraya river during the night! You can ask your hotel for reservations or check Princess Cruise by the River City. You have to be there an hour or two earlier. It's all by Saphan Thaksin Pier.

    Enjoy wonderful Bangkok!
