After four hours and three train rides (Frankfurt - Koblenz - Trier - Luxembourg City) that cost approximately 3,700 Php (one way), we finally arrived in Luxembourg City. This city is one of the most quite cities that I have ever visited. Its population is only less than 500,000.
Luxembourg's Train Station
Life Size WC Sign
Arriving at the train station, this life size WC (European term for toilet) sign caught my attention. I don't think anyone needs to ask where the toilet is anymore with this giant signage.
View from Luxembourg City
View from Luxembourg City
This was the picturesque view that greeted us when we arrived the city center.
Auchan Shopping Mall
This is the biggest shopping mall in the city and the size is smaller than Glorietta 4. The selection of products and brands is is also very limited. This is one of the least interesting shopping malls I have ever visited.
Circular Building
While waiting for our hop on-hop off sightseeing bus, I saw this circular building that I liked so much so I took a photo of it.
With these photos, I think you can tell that there is nothing much exciting to see in this city. Every time I visit Europe I make it a point to visit a city that I have never seen and this is why I included Luxembourg city in my itinerary. If you ask my opinion though, this is one city in Europe that you can skip.
the initials wc means 'water closet' aka toilet.
ReplyDeleteyou have a good eye for taking photos mike! nice pics
ReplyDeleteThe most photographed Luxembourg bridge and castle... I have a group picture taken exactly at the same spot...
ReplyDeleteHi Mike! nothing much to see in Luxembourg aside on farms and farms and farms..hahaha :D
ReplyDeleteWC (water closeet) is the architectural term for inidoro
ReplyDeleteYou don't go to Luxembourg to go into a mall. A boring itinerary like that will obviously leave you bored.
