I am currently in Valletta, Malta. It's almost 12:00 am and we just got back from Gozo. I have a 6:00 am flight to Paris so I am going to keep this story short and straight to the point. Our room does not have an internet connection so I am writing the story from the hotel's lobby.
This personal assistant (PA) has been loyally serving his actor boss for more than ten years. Recently he has been confined in a hospital in Manila because of colon cancer. When the actor found out about this, he instructed the family members to transfer him to a better hospital in San Juan. The family members thought that the actor was going to foot the bill so they followed his instruction. When the hospital bill already reached more than 300,000 Php, the family members approached him for financial assistance. They were surprised when he handed them a small amount of money and advised them to just write the hospital a promissory note. He even told them that there is nothing that the hospital can do in the event that they do not fulfill their obligation.

ReplyDeletei know R very much wala yang PA simula ng nag artista yan, baka PD(personal driver) yes at hindi lang sampung taon sa kanya yun at binigyan nya ng bahay yun. Kaya yung mga nagmamagaling dyan mali kayo.

ReplyDeleteKnowing R's humble beginnings near our place--he used to play basketball in the liga during fiesta with my cousin--I have a hard time believing he will treat people that way.
ReplyDeleteHindi kaya the family mistook what was meant to be a piece of advice and assumed that he will pay? But he should know if he is the main source of income that they could not afford that hospital in San Juan (CSMC ba ito? bawal rin initials ng hospital?)
Hospital is located in Wilson St. The driver can't afford it ... I was there listening to chikas ng mga nurses...The first hospital is right near la loma's lechonan and the wife insist daw to transfer in wilson St. hospital. Anyway , maybe at the moment, the family of the driver can make ipon na the said amount ... he is not the driver na give ng house or lote huh? but he works for R for 11 years . Me SSS, BIR , Philhealth deductions naman, so he is a regular employee....Ok, the patient has a colon cancer and 6 months to live...me karma kaya?

Kung para sa akin, maghanap na lang ng pera ung kamag anakan ng pasyente kasi kung di talaga matutulungan at di makakalabas ng ospital ung tao,kawawa naman at lalong manghihina sa ospital. Ipaubaya nyo na lang sa Diyos ang lhat. Alam kong me malaking puso na tutulong sa inyo. Lahat ng problema, me solusyon.At baka ibang tao ang tumulong sa inyo. At nawa'y madagdagan pa ang buhay nung tao para makagawa cya ng kabutihan sa mundo, di katulad nung mga taong sugapa sa pera.Ipagdarasal kita kung sino ka man.Wag kang panghinaan ng loob at ang Diyos and me alam ng lahat.Malay mo cla ang magkasakit ng sakit mo at ikaw ang gumaling.Bayaran mo hospital bills naman nila. ReplyDeleteHmm tingin ko may misunderstanding lang dito somewhere... Sana tumulong pa si actor since ang tagal na nyang employee pero kung hinde walang magagawa family ni PA/ driver. Nasa sa tao na yun e hindi naman obligasyon ni actor tumulong. Sana bago nila nilipat ng hospital nilinaw nila ng mabuti k actor na wala silang pambayad.
ReplyDeleteHindi ako matapobre ha, sinasabi ko lang kung ayaw ni actor wala talaga silang magagawa. Ultimately family nila yan, kung may tutulong edi good, kung wala ganyan lang talaga ang reality ng buhay... Hindi naman ibig sabihin masamang tao na si actor e, hindi nga lang sya charitable.
Pero im guessing merong other side of the story to e, feeling ko nga may misunderstanding lang.
Im sure this story may be true for R... his intentions were good -- to actually send his employee in a good hospital for treatment. but who knew the bill will reach 300k?? everyday, you incur expenses in the hospital. "assuming" should not be the case for someone diagnosed with cancer. Im so sorry for having this kind of reaction to this, but it's true --- im sure the family gets blow by blow account of appropriate tests and treatment COSTS and to surprise your boss to a bill amounting to 300k upon check-out is just too much... IF they have just updated R and L slowly, day by day accounting of expenses, Im sure their help would have amounted more than that 300k hospital bill. Mas madaling maglabas ng pera pa konti konti, kesa mag-withdraw bigla ng ganung halaga. ang laki kaya!
ReplyDeleteMukhang hindi ugali ni R ito, yeah maybe na miss interpret ng family ang advise na ilipat ng hospital, and also, na exaggerate na din ng mga nagkkwento. I am not a fan of R ha, just saying mukhang out of character niya ito.

Tapusin na lang natin ang story ni R.at ng kanyang driver. Wala ng dapat sisihin kung sino and nagkamali. Wag na lang kau sumubok mag apply as driver or staff ni R at baka maulit ang kwento.Wag na rin sabihin ng iba na me mabuting ugali si R. Alam natin na pikon cya at mainitin ang ulo.Tsaka sa family ng asst/driver, check nyo na lang kung me makukuha sa SSS or kung me Philhealth kaya kc matagal na naman pala nag work cya doon. Ganun na lang. Kung di kayang magbayad ni R ng bills, let it be.Wala kayong magagawa.Alam naman natin na me Diyos na sumusubaybay sa ating lahat.Sana di na lang kayo naniwala kay R. at sa asawa nya... sana di nyo pinakinggan suggestion nila, nagtiis na lang kau sa murang ospital para kaya nyong bayaran. Alam nyo naman talaga na mahigpit at kuripot sa pera ang mag asawang ito.Naniwala pa kayo.pag me susunod na ganyang mangyari sa isang staff nya at inulit nya ito ulit, mag welga na kayong mga trabahador nya at asal aso pala itong si R at asawa nya.Take note: Wag nyong susundin ang sasabihin nila at mapapahamak kayo sa laki ng bills.Me karma , don't worry , lalabas din yan sa kanila ... ReplyDeleteThat's why I said there must be another side to this story, little details like was R informed of the running bill, were the tests/ treatment given relayed to him, etc.
If they really believed that actor would shoulder the bill, then they would update him diba? Pwede kasing ang nangyari akala din ng mga doctors na si actor mag sshoulder ng bill based on what the family said, tapos kaliwat kanang unnecessary procedures na ang ginawa. Syempre kahit ako si actor magiging hesitant din ako magbayad bigla ng 300k.
On the other hand, he could've handled it better than just giving him a small amount and telling him to write a promissory note. If he was really concerned, maybe he could've checked on his driver's/ PA's progress in the hospital. Hindi natin alam yung mga small details e, mukha namang hindi black and white ito.
Too bad, I used to like him. I first witnessed his not-so-good attitude when he visited our exclusive all girls' school, one of the students held his arm from the back because everyone was goin gaga over him during those days and he looked at her in a mean way and brushed his arm.I am following him on twitter and someone asked if he is paying his employees' SSS and Philhealth - but he didn't answer.
ReplyDeleteDapat din siguro di siya nagtatago everytime the family would go to their house so they could have "updated him". Hindi ata makapaniwala si PA na iiwan siya sa ere baka si PA pa nga nakakaalam ng mga secrets niya - I was thinking if PA only wanted to extort money from the actor eh di sana nagblackmail na lang siya.
Tama nga siguro na maybe initially the blazing actor meant well but miscalculated, he didn't expect the bill would be that expensive.

Thank you very much to Fashion Pulis. If not for this blind item, the actor and his politician wife will not realize that they also have their obligations to their staff. It could have been happier if they visited (at least once) their former righthand man whom they trusted all these years.
ReplyDeleteSi actor wag na lang sana magbigay ng pera sa harap ng lahat ng manunuod sa TP show. Dun kasi mapagbigay siya, nagbibigay from his own pocket, announced pa, sa sarili niyang tao, ni hindi man lang dinalaw sa ospital- ni minsan.
