Hand Woven Tote by Aranaz

I fell in love with this Aranaz hand woven tote when I saw it in Greenbelt 5 a few days ago. I just had to go back to the store this afternoon with S.M. to buy it. Priced at 2,500 Php (after 10% discount), it is an inexpensive alternative to a Bottega Veneta that will cost you an arm and a leg. For a well crafted one of kind tote that is proudly Philippine made, I think this is really a good buy.

  2. Dear Anonymous,
It is not leathers. It's native material. If I am not mistaken it is something similar to abaca. Thank you for loving Fashion PULIS.

  4. it's like a downgrade version of kate spade woven bag http://www.fashionfuss.com/kate-spade-austin-small-coal-tote/

by the way, maybe instead of anonymous we can put a name (without url or so...) so you won't be saying dear anonymous.... just a thought. :)

why can't we just be proud and happy for our locally made items? yes it does bear similarities to the bag you are referring to, but then that's what designers do, get inspiration from other designers kaya they are also accused of being "copycats" (just like fashionpulis' entry on rajo's wedding gown). then they do their own takes on that inspiration. ferragamo & even gucci now have bags bearing strong resemblances to the hermes kelly & birkin, they just tweak them and do their own versions.
i already got other bags from her tribal line as well. what is great is that she makes it affordable since all these kate spades & bottega venettas can be really pricey so let's just leave that to the richie rich crowd. these bags are made by pinoys so they are given jobs pa. and i would like to be a proud user of PINOY prouducts.

  6. I agree...we should be happy and be proud of our local designers..maybe they would have the same technique, but it's not copy at all. If you would talk about originality from the material to the technique, no one is original unless you were born during ancient times wherein they discover Sewing, etc.
