Quits Na Tayo!!! (We're Even)

Cell phone roaming charges can be very expensive. Every time I am out for the country, my GLOBE bill for the month always increases drastically.  I remember one time when I was in Europe for 2 weeks, my bill sky rocketed to almost 20t Php.  That for me is a big deal because on the average my monthly bill never exceeds 5t Php.

If someone calls my roaming mobile, do I incur roaming charges even if I do not answer the call? I have been receiving contradictory answers.  Someone please enlighten me on the issue. I once called GLOBE's customer service hot line to ask about this and the answer I got was "No".  From then on, I avoided answering phone calls when I am overseas. Just being practical, I guess.

How about you? Do you answer/make calls when you are abroad?

The cell phone bill of a lifestyle writer accumulated to a six digit figure  I think he does not only answer/make calls when he is overseas.  My hunch is that he runs a cell phone marathon every time he travels. With such a big usage, the management of this telecommunications company should be treating him like royalty.  However, in this case, he was not.  He was actually being contacted by the company's collection department because he refused to pay for the bill.

After months of not settling his outstanding bill, the media department of this company invited him for a dialogue. In the meeting, he proposed to publish several press releases in exchange of his unpaid bill.  Since the company wants to maintain a good relationship with this writer, the company had no other choice but to accept his offer.

Guys, do you seriously need a clue?  T.Y. for all your support!!!

  2. Globe does not cut your line if you exceed your limit. Your attention will just be called and Globe will ask you to pay on due date. In this case, the lifestyle writer failed or refused to pay the bill. I am sure he has a high credit line for him to accumulate such an amount. Ang issue ata he refuses to pay the bill kasi bka walang pera o nasasayangan maglabas ng pera. Kung maka lusot, why not? - Chris Jalandoni

  3. that's right, globe will not cut your service. But after a few reminders to pay the balance and no payment response, they will remove outgoing calls and text capability.

Phone bills really increase exponentially when you do roaming. And why would globe want to be in good terms with the writer?! Globe doesnt need anyones business. They're so big..
