designer carrying the Birkin before he pawned it
If the Louis Vuitton Speedy is the gateway to luxury, the Hermes Birkin is definitely the epitome of luxury. Designers are exposed to the world of luxury and sometimes they feel the pressure to keep up with the Joneses. This was what happened to one popular designer.
The designer bought this Hermes Birkin (40cm in Tan) from DR, an Hermes reseller, on an installment basis. The buyer did not have a checking account (why? don't you have a business?) so he promised to give cash for the monthly payments. When it was time for the monthly collection, the buyer was nowhere to be found. He refused to answer DR's calls and when DR got hold of the sister, he was told that the buyer went to the USA (convenient excuse for "estafadores"). This upset DR (it's a six digit bag!), so he threatened to sue him (not effective). Common friends finally offered to help recover the Birkin but the bag was missing in action. Where did the Birkin go?
THE BUYER PAWNED THE BIRKIN IN BAGAHOLIC !!!
(mind blowing tongue twister).
Can you imagine pawning something not yours? The buyer told DR that he could not raise enough cash to retrieve the Birkin so DR agreed to share the burden. The worst part was the buyer could not even give 100% of his share. Sad, sadder, saddest!
Do you know who pawned the Birkin?
Clue: You can spot him in the glossy magazines carrying it.
By the way, this designer has a stylist friend who bought an Hermes Herbag from DR. He did not pay for it as well. "Birds of the same feather flock together." Oh..... wait, this will require another post!

ReplyDeletethats the problem with some people, mahilig sa hulugan, ndi naman pala kaya. ang sosyal nga ng mga bags, jewelries, watches, kotse... etc lahat naman pala utang. i think mas maganda ung you just live to the level of your status pero wala kang utang. nobody will laugh at you magpaka totoo ka lng.
ReplyDeletei hate social climbers, i think they are very insecure people,
ReplyDeletespend only what you have earned already. borrowing money for luho??? tsk tsk!!!! puro yabang pero puro utang, tapos 2nd hand pa ung inutang. tsk tsk sign of a social climber na talaga yan
who's the stylist friend. I want to know that story...
ReplyDeleteAs always, it's about trying to be something they are not. Bakit di na lang kasi magpakatotoo. Meron ka ngang mamahaling bag, pero alam naman ng mga tao na utang sya, so ganun pa rin, di sosyal dating mo...trying hard lang. =P Susme. Kakahiya!
ReplyDeleteThis is just awful. Kawawa naman the aggravated parties!
ReplyDeleteSo this is also PQ?! Omg. Grabe na to!
ReplyDeleteDSP: Interesting Story! :-)
ReplyDelete: My model-friend owns a croc-leather Birkin also...OMG, it's a stunning bag...jst don't think of the price because you'll be amazed of its tag price.
It is my dream to get a Birkin in croc someday. It costs at least 45,000USD. If I get rich from blogging which I think is impossible =).
ReplyDeletemaganda na din yang Depruse Blue na birkin sa profile pic mo...it's a limited color Hermes with palladium hardware...kahit yan na lang at hindi croc.
ReplyDeleteWho is this? PQ?
ReplyDeleteIt is not blue de prusse, my Hermes Hac is in Blue de Thalassa.
ReplyDeleteNasa nagdadala yan...yung iba naka-Goyard mukha pa ring nilamutakan ng Goya sa mukha hahahaha
ReplyDeleteNakakadiri sila Pue!
LOSERS! if you can't afford it, don't buy it. why make a bag an indication of your standing in life? gosh, if this is P.Q. again, he should just concentrate on improving his craft & his work ethics so that he gains the respect of people and that will speak more of who he is than an hermes bag that he can't even pay for in gives. GEEZ!!
ReplyDeleteI know that bag..I saw that in his shop when he was still talking to me..after nyang makuha P60k dp ko di nya na ko hinaharap!!
ReplyDeleteIf the clue I read above is right, barkada ni PQ ata.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the blue Mulberry Bayswater than Birkin:D
ReplyDeleteYou guys are hilarious!!!
ReplyDeleteI prefer to have the cash than to have the bag!!!!

Trulala, i also prefer cash than the BAG.
This is a typical modus operandi of some people who wants to get the easy money.
ReplyDeleteKaya ingat na lang tayo because maraming ganyan sa mundo. Manloloko at namemera lang.
What a shame.. Kung walang pambili wag ipilit!
ReplyDeleteSince the Birkin is too pricey (and too bigat as well) and that Banana Taipei is still pricey. I'll just buy that one in SM. looks like the Banana Taipei. Di pa nakakahinayang kung masira or madumihan :))
sabi ng asawa ko ibibili daw ako ng lindy bag for my birthday this month, at ang sagot ko, no honey its a waste of money, lol.. true story.
ReplyDeleteI would rather buy a no brand bag with a nice design than a fake brand that i would be ashamed to carry!!
ReplyDeleteWith the worth of the bag? I would rather own a house. The bag won't shelter you from the heat, cold, rain, and typhoon. Owning that kind of bag is a privilige. If one has money to burn eh di GORA! Kung wala huwag pilitin. Sabi nga diba, don't live beyond your means. Masisira pangalan mo ng dahil sa bag? Kaloka yan.
ReplyDeleteprivilege rather :D
ReplyDeletemy fren saw a lindy hermes bag in an ukay2 at monumento near victory liner terminal..he wasnt able to buy it coz hes not sure if its authentic or not and the price is kinda high for an ukay2(P4,700) so what he did was he showed it to his fren hu is a prof of their flight attendant skul since shes a hermes lover and when her fren saw it, she went to the ukay2 and bought evendo shes not sure if its authentic or not..so when she had the bag already she went to her fren hus working in hermes and get the bag authenticated and the outcome was the bag is authentic and it cost 380k plus originally...so ung fren nagthumbling at muntik di makarecover..hahaha..sayang sana binili nlng nya..hahaha
